Good morning Flowers

So the last thread reached 1000 posts. I don't think that's ever happened on any other Bootcamp! It's a really good sign that everyone is engaged in the process, even if it's not always been from a positive place. If things aren't working for you, please keep reading and posting - even if you just lurk, hopefully the support and advice here will be helpful for you.

But it's a glorious day again, and the sun is shining brightly already and the birds are singing their hearts out. I hope that this translates into positivity and optimism for all of us this week - even if you've been struggling!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

We're past the dreaded weeks 4 and 5 now, so hopefully things will start to get going in the right direction, and you should see the weight move downwards - assuming, of course, that you aren't cheating or allowing carb creep.

Good luck everyone

Ragz I hope you got the recipe for the cheesecake, sounds amazing!

Wombat I don't know whether to be impressed or horrified! Grin I'm up too but just because the baby has forgotten how to sleep... no alcohol involved!

CodLiverOil556 · 25/06/2017 02:58

Wow wombat, good effort! You're going to sleep like a log when you eventually flake! It's been a long time since I partied for days...I'm an ex-soldier so used to do it every weekend in my 20s.

littlebillie · 25/06/2017 07:20

I've been great carb wise but due to one thing and another I needed to have a glass of wine on Friday and Saturday and wow the weights gone up Shock

littlebillie · 25/06/2017 07:37

On the plus side I am slipping into a size 14 😃

StuntNun · 25/06/2017 07:43

That's some celebration Wombat. You're a machine!

Duckiesprettycrazy · 25/06/2017 07:57

wombattoo you are my new role model in life Smile

SayrraT · 25/06/2017 08:00

wombat Shock I'm shattered after 8hr in bed!

Mandelinka · 25/06/2017 08:10

womattoo
What a party! I wonder when do we hear from you again... Wink

FinallyHere · 25/06/2017 08:17

Wayhey womat.

Dear me, I'm old, I'm thinking lots of water and maybe have some aspirin by the bed.

OldBooks · 25/06/2017 08:24

Blimey wombat! So the rumours are true, once DC are grown up you do get some life back... Just 15 years or so to go then...

That's great little billie!

NamelessEnsign · 25/06/2017 09:16

mandelinka yep, pesky kids! I used to train so much pre DC1, then did ok after DC2, but the combination of crazy work schedules, two kids, and dreadful health in the last 12 months has meant I'm as unfit as I have ever been in my adult life :(

Thank you all for the kind words about my pic. I am not tall so carry extra weight poorly, and look skinny and drawn in my face long before doing so in my body. This time I am super keen to be toned and healthy. I need to start climbing again!

SayrraT · 25/06/2017 09:32

The only good thing about having to go to work at the weekend is going for a Sainsbury's breakfast of scrambled eggs and bacon and sitting reading my book.

I only need to be in work for approximately 15-20 mins at 0830 and 1200 but I live 40 mins away from work so I just stay. Sometimes I do other work but not always.

MOIST · 25/06/2017 09:36

When I retire I want to be like Wombat. Grin

Things I know...

  1. Alcohol. Makes me fat but I like it. Also if I have a stressy day/week I want it. I need to limit it more, rather than 'just a couple of glasses' 3 times a week. Or accept that any weight loss will be stalled/slower than it should be.
  1. Greed. Emotional eating. Portion control. Stuffing my face because something tastes nice. No off switch. It is a problem.
MOIST · 25/06/2017 09:38

And today it is my turn to make church cake. doing fudge, lemon drizzle and DDs cookies (she does an amazing cookie).
I won't be tempted as all wheaty and poisonous.

CodLiverOil556 · 25/06/2017 09:38

So my weight has gone up by 0.8lb but my fat content has dropped to 34.5% how the hell does that work?

BIWI · 25/06/2017 09:47

@YoLoZammo is quite right.

I know it's the weekend, and we've had lovely weather, and it's barbecue season, and it's Glastonbury [insert excuse of choice here]

... but please remember that if you're drinking wine you're also drinking carbs. And even if you're drinking carb-free spirits, the alcohol will be very likely to stop your weight loss.

Alcohol is the first source of fuel for the body - so all the time it's burning the alcohol you've fed it, it's not burning fat.

Bootcamp Light is intended to be more relaxed, but just be careful about how relaxed you are!

Because on Monday the scales are beckoning ...

(I hope you're asleep Wombattoo, and that there isn't a headache waiting for you Grin)

Please don't forget the recipe thread!

There are lots of lovely recipes worth browsing there - including a few for quiche.

But also, if you post something on this thread that you've cooked and enjoyed, please could you c+p it onto the recipe thread as well, so that we don't lose it?

ilovekermit I'm the same - weight up by a few lb but body fat % falling steadily. Total weight probably influenced by water retention?

ragz134 · 25/06/2017 10:44

Whenever my weight spikes up my fat % falls. However, the opposite is also true. The fat monitor isn't hugely accurate, so as long as the general trend is downwards, I'm happy with it.

wombattoo · 25/06/2017 11:02

Hello all. I got to bed at 2.30 and was awake at 6.30. Pants. Confused
On the plus side - no hangover.
I have made a note to myself that I am far too old to have these sorts of weekends and I need to grow up Grin

Dinner is rib of beef already slow cooking in the oven with loads of veg.

I have ironing to do in prep for my holiday.

Have a lovely Sunday Smile

CaptainBraandPants · 25/06/2017 11:46

Phew! Managed to read all the posts from Thursday onwards.
Wombat you are a machine. I can't believe you are up again after all that partying. Respect.
Can't remember who posted which photo, but you all look brilliant. Great legs, slinky dresses and that corset looked like an instrument of torture. Shock

Had an iffy day Thursday, or in fact, an iffy few hours. Still managed to 16:8.
Friday and Saturday were spot on. We even went to the cinema yesterday and I just had an americano and took my own cream to add to it.
I have a brand new teenager today, although I think he forgot the memo about sleeping in until 11am as he was up at 6.30am. Grin So, we are out to an all you can eat place for lunch. I've been there before when LCing and it works well as I can have meat and salad, whilst the DC have pizza, chips, curry (usually all together) followed by three puddings.
Then, birthday cake later which I shall swerve. I have bough raspberries and clotted cream so I can have them as a treat instead. DS won't ind as it'll mean more cake for him.
I haven't weighed now for 34 days. As it is the half way weigh in tomorrow, I think I will weigh in. Looking at the previous BC, I lost 6.8lbs in the first 5 weeks. I'm hoping I have done similar again. i certainly feel thinner and am starting to wear more and more of my size 12 stuff.
KOKO everyone. Flowers

YoLoZammo · 25/06/2017 11:52

BIWI Grin

Have a lovely Sunday everyone.

Notso · 25/06/2017 12:05

Dustmotes thank you. I didn't dwell on the popcorn, write the day off or punish myself like I would usually do. I made myself a lovely dinner of steak, salad and asparagus, followed by a chunk of Camembert and a square of 80% choc melted in hot cream with a tiny dash of amaretto.

Food for today,
B- bacon, lettuce leaves, cucumber, dressing, Parmesan shavings and mayo,
D- slow cooked brisket in shallot gravy with buttery asparagus, broccoli and celeriac and leek mash
No lunch planned as I didn't eat breakfast until 11, will prob have a creamy coffee later and have olives, cheese, ham, and loads of veg in if I need a snack. 2 litres of water drunk so far.
Happy Sunday everyone.

MOIST · 25/06/2017 12:23

I just ate sugar. Argh! Only a nibble to see if my fudge was edible but still Shock
Fudge is shit and not edible either.

MOIST · 25/06/2017 12:35

And I ate a handful of raspberries and blueberries.

And now my guts hurt.

Yesterday's sausage? Sugar?
