Good morning Flowers

So the last thread reached 1000 posts. I don't think that's ever happened on any other Bootcamp! It's a really good sign that everyone is engaged in the process, even if it's not always been from a positive place. If things aren't working for you, please keep reading and posting - even if you just lurk, hopefully the support and advice here will be helpful for you.

But it's a glorious day again, and the sun is shining brightly already and the birds are singing their hearts out. I hope that this translates into positivity and optimism for all of us this week - even if you've been struggling!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

We're past the dreaded weeks 4 and 5 now, so hopefully things will start to get going in the right direction, and you should see the weight move downwards - assuming, of course, that you aren't cheating or allowing carb creep.

Good luck everyone

I'm not great with portion control.

How many fried chicken thighs could an ordinary bootcanoer eat?

AdalindSchade · 24/06/2017 19:23

I'm so pleased with myself. Went out for dinner to Mexican place and had battered halloumi (picked off the batter) and mushroom tacos (without the taco)
Eating low carb almost feels like a way of life!

dustmotesinthesun · 24/06/2017 19:29

Probably 2 moist. 3 if i was being greedy or starving. But they can be quite small so that influences things

MOIST · 24/06/2017 19:31

See. I've eaten bloody 1 while I cooked, 2 with salad and a big bite out of a 4th while clearing up. I'm not hungry. They just tasted good. And I'm greedy.

OldBooks · 24/06/2017 19:49

Kermit I have to say, your pics are how I am imagining my 'after' pics will look! You look awesome!

I have been in bed all afternoon with a sick headache Sad what do people eat when poorly? I am craving toast for the first time since starting the WOE Hmm not having any coz it will make headache worse

GoodBadOrIndifferent · 24/06/2017 19:52

MOIST I'm the same. If I'm in an ok mood then 2 with salad. If not i could easily easy another 2 after. Emotional eating though it is better on bootcamp, less hunger and cravings
Food today has been:
B: peperami them yoghurt and double cream with strawberries
L: one slice of black pudding, fried courgette and eggs scrambled in butter
D: pan fried plaice with lemon and caper butter, crispy bacon, roasted cauliflower and tenderstem broccoli
S: butter and peperami, 3 small squares of 85% chocolate
E: level 2 of 30 day shred
Too much processed meat but far but I've really needed the salt

ilovecherries · 24/06/2017 20:03

I'm mixing my cultural influences tonight :). Cajun chicken and Greek salad for dinner. Chicken was unfortunately skinned breast fillets but I dowsed it in oil to compensate.

dustmotesinthesun · 24/06/2017 20:25

I had pork belly with oodles of the most incredible crackling. And kale. It was phenomenal

FinallyHere · 24/06/2017 20:28

Loving that gorgeous dress, kermit

Hello everyone, I'm home hurrah (love so much about Crete except the way the plumbing cannot deal with loo roll so there is a bin beside every loo pan).

Thanks all, I outstared the pastries, kept walking past and ate delicious greek salad instead. It's perfectly normal there to have the ingredients of greek salad at breakfast and it really suits me. Thanks Stuntnun and C4 I'm still on the enjoyable, guilt free path ( which is Im glad to say strewn with delicious things to eat).

Just eaten cabbage, cucumber, tomatoes, spring onions, lettuce, basil, parsley and mint, feta and a few tomatoes strewn with bacon bits. Of to bed said Zebedee

Noticing the situational hunger again, thinking chocolate, coffee etc even though I havent for days. Keen not to break my duck, now. If i starting eating them again, i shall be reinforcing that situational desire. Beddie-bies (is that even a word? Bed anyway) for me.

Mandelinka · 24/06/2017 20:48

c4 good to hear you had a decent sleep and your DH is back to look after you.
wimbattoo you party animal! Congratulations on your retirement Flowers
I think the sarnies were probably a good idea to soak up all the alcohol.
bellalurgy sorry to hear about your daughters illness. You must be very proud of her for her achievements and strength. Please send some pictures once you find the perfect outfit

OldBooks · 24/06/2017 21:06

I just wolfed down courgette sticks in eggy cheesy mix. O.M.G. 10/10 will have again

Mandelinka · 24/06/2017 21:11

nameless I agree with your pesky children comment. No time for ourselves, ever. Btw you look fabulous. Your arms look pretty good to me
sayrraT your recipe for fried courgette looks yummy, I think even my supper fussy DH would like it. Will try tomorrow. Your egg fast sounds awesome. I could do that no problem. Egg is a perfection!

Youcantscaremeihavechildren · 24/06/2017 21:14

Well I've not had too rubbish a day, realised where I've gone wrong at least! Still, no bread or pasta and that's with going into several food shops today so doing well.
Thanks for the advice about alpro cream etc, just realised I've only got the low fat stuff, it's a bit limiting but I'll shop around to look for coconut cream etc.
Today I've had:
B Bacon and egg
L 2 boiled eggs and spinach, 99p in a pot from aldi!
D low carb sausages, with chorizo and beans in them, they were low, like 2ish carbs but just realised kidney beans bad right? There were about 5 in there though..
Had roasted courgette, aubergine, pepper, sweet pots and toms with it, in olive oil. However should I have left out about half of that? Also had cauliflower rice and I did have two stuffed vine leaves, about two tablespoons if that.

I'd really really like a bit of 85% chocolate but I'm having a small gin and tonic so I shouldn't should I?

Is that a shocking first day, seeing as I'm sort of easing myself into it?

SayrraT · 24/06/2017 21:42

I don't think I invented the cheesy courgettes BTW, did someone post about them before?

They are delicious though, I'm going to try other things like aubergine.

From a very long ago bootcamp chester invented Chester's Chicken which is chicken bits done in the egg and cheese.

ChesterDrawers · 24/06/2017 21:42

Weird couple of days. Ended up drinking far too much red wine on an empty stomach last night then having tea of pate spread on cheese chunks Blush. Slovenly but can kind of recommend. Then felt like shite this morning but seem to have had a pretty productive day. Food has been good t, but back on the wine again Hmm

Brunch: bacon, mushrooms, scrambled eggs, lots of butter
D: chicken fajitas, with avocado, salsa, sour cream and cheddar, on romaine lettuce leaves. Tesco only delivered red peppers so I tried not to have too many but prob a bit carby ignores wine and blames weight gain squarely on peppers

ChesterDrawers · 24/06/2017 21:43

Ah crossposted with a namecheck

starsky22 · 24/06/2017 21:48

Todays food:
B - 2 sausages & fried egg
L - parma ham, avocado & mozzarella salad
D - bacon & cheese burger without the bun, brie stuffed mushrooms & asparagus

Feels like I had too much cheese and processed food today.
Wasn't really hungry at lunch and didn't want my salad, but forced it down as I was worried about being hungry later, in the end I stopped eating as thought it was silly to continue if I wasn't hungry and I was actually fine until dinner.

plymouth that quiche sounds great, will try that out once I'm on BC lite.

Also looking forward to trying out fat head pizza!

I've seen a few low carb recipes that include almond flour, is that just ground almonds or is there actual almond flour you can buy?

Mandelinka · 24/06/2017 21:54

Little bit off topic, watching Foo's on tv playing Glasto. I so wanna be there Sad

Veryflummoxed · 24/06/2017 22:04

I'm still here and no slip ups but I haven't had a chance to read the threads and am way behind now. Will try to catch up when i can.

YoLoZammo · 24/06/2017 22:40

I've heard of carb creep, but what about wine creep? Seems to be a lot of this going on! I predict a lot of confused in denialpeople at Monday's weigh in Hmm.

Sorry, but this is my tough love form of supportiveness today I may have PMT

YoLoZammo · 24/06/2017 22:42

Ha, strikeout fail. But seriously....

Mandelinka · 24/06/2017 22:52

I was very pleased this morning as I managed to steal 40 mins for myself and go for a run/walk. This was a third session this week ( NSV for me). Also managed to squeeze into a pair of pre-pregnancy jeans and a tshirt and I actually looked fine. My silhouette is def changing.

There were also some changes on the scales, I dropped 1 pound out of nowhere. I guess it could be down to me fasting yestesterday morning and topping up my excercise. Also no alcohol the whole week.

Food today:
B: another fast. Mug of Marigold and mug of green tea
L: 1/2 protein bun, slice of edam and fried egg. Radishes, salad, avocado, tomatoe. Spoonful of leftover pate.
D: salad with salmon, radishes, olive oil.
2 chicken drumsticks
S: 2 cream coffees, exploded Edam cheese, peanut butter and 3 squares of 85% choco
1 oat cookie

Water/tea 2.5 l

ragz134 · 24/06/2017 23:51

Moist How bad that is really depends in the age of your DD2... I mean, if she's 12 then that would probably be frowned upon Wink

Survived the party picnic, friend hosting follows a low sugar, plant based diet (and lives in a very 'alternative' type area where this is quite normal) and a lot of the food was raw. Amazing chocolate and lime cheesecake which was basically a lot of nuts, avocado, coconut oil, lime and raw chocolate. A nice treat, not too sweet and jam packed with fat! I had raw veg salad, chorizo and hummous. It was lovely as everyone was eating proper, real foods!

Dinner was curry with broccoli/cauliflower rice.
Had a small rum.
Not enough water though. Feel I will show a gain on the scales tomorrow.

prettybird · 25/06/2017 00:26

Made a lovely low carb meal from this month's Good Housekeeping (July edition Confused) : chicken thighs (supposed to be skinless and boneless on a skewer but I did them skin on, bone in) marinaded in za-atar, sumac, garlic, lemon zest and juice, olive oil and vinegar (I substituted the sherry vinega for cider) and grilled, served with a thick slice of cauliflower which had also marinaded in the same mix on top of thinly sliced red onions and also grilled. Served with a sort of pesto of mint, coriander and parsley, olive oil and lemon zest/juice drizzled over. Very tasty.

Was supposed to also make a griddled courgette and cherry tomato salad to serve with it but I forgot Blush

wombattoo · 25/06/2017 01:55

Hey. So I am still up. I haven't had any sleep since I woke up at 3.45 Fri morning. I don't really know what day it is now. I ate the sandwich at the wedding last night (Friday) and all I have eaten since is a pork pie at 10.30 this (Saturday) morning. Been out drinking all day and I am now really really hungry. 3 people have told me today that I have lost loads of weight. I have lost a total of 4lbs but dropped a dress size. I am delighted.
So, it's been a crap weekend in relation to food/sleep/alcohol but loads of compliments. Go figure! I will soon be off to bed and I hope to sleep the whole day.
