Good morning Flowers

So the last thread reached 1000 posts. I don't think that's ever happened on any other Bootcamp! It's a really good sign that everyone is engaged in the process, even if it's not always been from a positive place. If things aren't working for you, please keep reading and posting - even if you just lurk, hopefully the support and advice here will be helpful for you.

But it's a glorious day again, and the sun is shining brightly already and the birds are singing their hearts out. I hope that this translates into positivity and optimism for all of us this week - even if you've been struggling!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

We're past the dreaded weeks 4 and 5 now, so hopefully things will start to get going in the right direction, and you should see the weight move downwards - assuming, of course, that you aren't cheating or allowing carb creep.

Good luck everyone

Ahh, I didn't realise that stunt I'd just looked at the carbs per 100g and didn't realise you are supposed to add water.

StuntNun · 24/06/2017 14:19

Coconut water should have said coconut milk. My mum calls it coconut water.

dustmotesinthesun · 24/06/2017 15:00

Yes creamed coconut is just out if you sit and eat the block. Too carby as is.

I'm drinking loads and hardly peeing. So it must still be hot enough that i'm retaining water. It's weird.

I don't really eat dairy. I get recipes from Nom Nom Paleo a lot and Stupid Easy Paleo. I just adapt them if they're carby. It is so easy to fall into eating the same things though.

PlymouthMaid1 · 24/06/2017 15:14

Just made a gorgeous quiche for lunch with salad. Used a recipe for almond crust as do miss a crispy base on quiche. It was great and very easy: just 3cups of ground almonds stirred into 1\2 cup melted butter, pinch of salt plus I added garlic powder. Baked it a bit then filled with cooked mushrooms, courgette and blue cheese, then a four egg and cream mix on top. Was gorgeous.

Also scales finally moved today, hope they stay there for Mondays official weigh in.

Notso · 24/06/2017 15:42

Can I join you please? Have been lurking since week one but am struggling today, I feel a bit miffed that the scales haven't moved for a week and because I didn't plan well today I just ate a handful of sweet and salty popcorn covered in melted butter. I've thrown the rest out and have just finished off a tub of ff total so feel sick now. I hate my disordered eating habits.

Sunborn · 24/06/2017 15:44

I knew it, StuntNun! I may as well give up now Wink.

(I have hidden the mint imperials, and bought a pack of Aldi's 85g mini dark chocolate bars instead).

cathyandclare · 24/06/2017 16:21

Welcome Notso :)
We all have bad moments, just good that you've stopped yourself from descending into full-on carbs twattishness!

I had a disappointing weigh in too, i'm just holding onto the fact that lots of the graphs seem to show a big woos after a slow week... that'll be us soon, fingers X

L238 · 24/06/2017 16:28

Has anyone got any tips for making courgetti less wet? I'm sautée-ing it in butter briefly but not too long as want it to retain some texture. It always seems to leak loads of water out afterwards though Hmm

Sunborn · 24/06/2017 16:35

I don't cook mine, L238 - I eat it raw. And I don't put salt on it. Salt draws the water out of courgette like crazy.

Sunborn · 24/06/2017 16:36

(Unsalted butter - perish the thought - might help you. Or oil. I'm not sure. I gave up on cooking it ages ago. It just always felt a bit soggy to me!6

L238 · 24/06/2017 16:41

Thanks Sunborn I am salting it so that's probably the issue. Never tried it raw

Fortunatepiggy · 24/06/2017 16:51

Really struggling today as have bad pmt and want to inhale anything sweet😟

Notso · 24/06/2017 16:58

Thanks cathyandclare this is my third boot camp. I lost loads on the first two but went back to my old binging ways and put it all back on and more. I know this WOE works and it makes me feel like a different person. I am recognising triggering foods now though I stupidly ate a bag of pork scratchings which are just too much like crisps for me to be able to eat 'safely'. Here's hoping for that woosh!

cathyandclare · 24/06/2017 17:06

Notso I'm with you on the triggering foods, even low carb almond muffin-type things, or anything which imitates something carby can set off a binge in me, weirdly I'm OK with 85% + chocolate, but I have to be super careful with bread/cake/biscuit substitutes

CodLiverOil556 · 24/06/2017 17:54

So having a hard day today and really craving something carby...not entirely sure why but tried on a frock which hasn't fitted me for only 10 years and it fits so did the shred instead of eating crap.

MOIST · 24/06/2017 18:10

Kermit you look hot! Good curves.

I had a big fry up for brunch. I'm not sure the sausage was a proper one and I will pay for it later (wheat/gluten intolerant).

Tonight I'm frying chicken. What should I have with it?

StuntNun · 24/06/2017 18:16

L238 you shouldn't need to add salt to UK courgettes as they're a different variety to the American zucchini which are bitter unless salted. One way to make them less soggy is to leave out the centre seedy part. You can use this raw in salads so it isn't wasted. Another method is to cut up the courgette in the morning and put the courgette and some kitchen towel in a plastic bag in the fridge all day to dry out. Alternatively buy the ready made courgetti from Tesco - that never comes out soggy for some reason.

YoLoZammo · 24/06/2017 18:17

Evening everyone.

Great to see we have some newbies. Welcome.

C4 I'm loving the idea of you wheeling yourself to the edge of the pool and throwing yourself in shouting "namaste bitches". Reminds me of Boadicea charging into battle!

We could all learn something from your positive attitude.

So, food log:

B - leftover dinner. Sausages and creamed veg. Creamy coffee and 1 strawberry.
L - a Peri Peri chicken breast. Was out and was an emergency meal. No veg or salad available. On the plus side, no bread or chips were consumed.
S - 2 small salami sticks. Were horrible but I needed the salt.
D - will be chicken and veg or salad. Can't decide on the seasoning though. Will try and add in some fat somewhere.

The last few days I have snacked much less. 3 square meals have been enough. I don't recognise myself. I've never been able to go without food for more than 4 hours or I get quite ill. Even up to easier this week on bc I was still snacking, albeit lc snacks. All this talk of snacking is now making me hungry. Gah Confused

Giraffeski · 24/06/2017 18:17

Looks amazing Kermit! It could become a thing- feel like self sabotage, go and try clothes on!
Today: B: 2 tsp whole earth peanut/flax/sunflower butter (4.6/100g)
Creamy coffee. Was hungry but running out to ballet.
L: Homemade spinach soup (unfortunately homemade by my mum so onion instead of shallot, still will have been very low carb if lacking in fat. Was made with almond milk not cream as my dairy allergic dc were eating too.
Also had pate spread on cabbage leaves and a chunk of cheddar to up the fat content and so I felt like I could dip something
S: 2 babybel 'exploded' into crisps
D: DH has gone to work and I've fed pasta to the kids so undecided yet.

dustmotesinthesun · 24/06/2017 18:26

Welcome notso it is hard slipping. Everyone has done it I'm sure. The important thing is getting back on it. Popcorn really isn't the worst thing you could have eaten.

kermit you look gorgeous

NamelessEnsign · 24/06/2017 18:45

Ilovekermit fancy frock! It looks great. Must have been a good motivator.

Guys. I made Fathead Pizza. Oh. My. WORD. Amazing! I have been missing food like that so much!

I have to confess that I found it easy to eat at least half the pizza and could have eaten more. 1 or 2 slices too rich, riiiight.

MOIST · 24/06/2017 18:55

That's what I thought nameless. I limited myself to half but could quite easily have eaten it all Grin

This is what I'm having for tea.

MOIST · 24/06/2017 18:57

How really bad is it that I've sent DD2 up the shop to buy gin?

styledilemma · 24/06/2017 19:07

Looks amazing Kermit! It could become a thing- feel like self sabotage, go and try clothes on!

Great idea!

NamelessEnsign · 24/06/2017 19:19

moist I am a bit relieved it isn't just me!

I have got to try the parmesan-crusted courgette (I may try with aubergine) - looking forward to that too!
