Good morning Flowers

So the last thread reached 1000 posts. I don't think that's ever happened on any other Bootcamp! It's a really good sign that everyone is engaged in the process, even if it's not always been from a positive place. If things aren't working for you, please keep reading and posting - even if you just lurk, hopefully the support and advice here will be helpful for you.

But it's a glorious day again, and the sun is shining brightly already and the birds are singing their hearts out. I hope that this translates into positivity and optimism for all of us this week - even if you've been struggling!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

We're past the dreaded weeks 4 and 5 now, so hopefully things will start to get going in the right direction, and you should see the weight move downwards - assuming, of course, that you aren't cheating or allowing carb creep.

Good luck everyone

By normal day I mean a normal lchf day just in case anyone is confused. To me lchf is normal.

NamelessEnsign · 24/06/2017 11:29

Thank you C4, really sweet of you.

Can I help with your plank plan?

Sunborn · 24/06/2017 11:32

My food is all weird today. But I shall confess.

Breakfast: marscapone cheese
Snack: tablespoon of olive tapenade and two mint imperials Sad

Lunch should be broccoli and Stilton soup, and I have bolognese for dinner, which I'll have with some spinach.

I just need to stop with the weird snacking.

Might do an egg fast tomorrow. It would be lovely to see a good weight on the scales on Monday, after I threw myself off so badly a few weeks ago.

Please someone tell me that two mint imperials won't have ruined things?

Youcantscaremeihavechildren · 24/06/2017 11:33

Hi all, I'm trying to keep up with reading everything so I can get started, I've decided as I've got a really really busy few weeks ahead that I'm going to eat sort of normally this week, just cutting out bread, pasta and rice and of course cake etc, then look at everything I'm eating whilst reading all the info on here gradually so I can plan meals for the following week properly. As I mentioned I cant have dairy and have issues with my stomach that I'm not sure what the cause is so I'm wondering if this might help. I have two ankle biters too and work full time so I need to plan meals ahead, I'm struggling to work out how I'm going to cook for everyone and differently for me, especially as at least 3-4 meals per week are carbon heavy, pasta, jacket spud etc.
Today I've started with bacon and egg for breakfast, coffee with soya (West is this creamy coffee I hear you all speak of? Guess I can't have that!)
Lunch I'm not sure yet but I've got avocado and other odds send ends in the fridge I could have.
Dinner, got sausages from aldi that are gluten free and fairly low carb, will have those with salad and avocado, roasted aubergines and courgettes. Kids and dh will have rice/quinoa with it. I got cauliflower rice so hope that's ok!
Oh, got gin and tonic too....
We've got chicken to roast tomorrow so I'll have that with salad for two days dinner.
I'm struggling with what to take for lunches but I'm hoping they'll be enough leftovers.
I think a week eating like this with reading this thread I should be able to glean enough info to plan properly for the following week.

BIWI · 24/06/2017 11:36

@styledilemma sorry - I missed your YouTube link!

I'm guessing I could probably do that, but I'll have to give it a try!

OK, I'm officially pathetic Grin just tried planking and managed 45 secs. I think I'll keep trying and see if I can improve.

BIWI · 24/06/2017 12:03
Grin

I didn't just get down and do a 6 minute plank, Sayrra - I worked up to it over some weeks. (And I can't do it now - the most I do these days is 3 minutes, and that takes a lot of effort)

A 45 second plank is a great start.

OP posts:
SayrraT · 24/06/2017 12:05

Haha Grin I know, just thought I'd give it a go.

BIWI · 24/06/2017 12:06

@Youcantscaremeihavechildren

The best advice I can give you is to not cook separate meals for you and the family.

That way, you'll constantly feel you're on a diet, and you'll become increasingly resentful.

It does meant that some meals will be off the menu - so no risotto, or lasagne - i.e. dishes that are based around carbs. But meat/fish with vegetables will be perfect - if you want, you can always serve yours without the portion of potato.

Have a look at the recipe thread, which is stickied at the top of the Bootcamp topic. Loads of lovely things there to inspire you!

Just tried that plank thing and collapsed halfway!
I've done Stuntnun's egg fast and lost 7lb. It's quite hard core, but luckily I love eggs and cheese.
I've eventually weighed in and am only 0.2lb down, which has made me feel a bit despondent. I have to get into my tight dress on Friday, there is no plan B. Desperate times call for desperate measures. I may have lots of eggy meals this week, I'm going to exercise and plank every day and I've also booked an emergency body wrap for Thursday to suck any excess fluid out of me!!!
Even if like Cinders I get to the ball, I'll probably either collapse after the first glass of wine or explode out of my dress Grin
The moral is, don't buy bargain dresses of eBay.

styledilemma · 24/06/2017 12:16

Slice the courgette, dip in beaten egg then into the parmasean and fry in butter until nice and crisp. They were delicious.

I am so trying this later.

styledilemma · 24/06/2017 12:18

I've had scrambles eggs, with butter and feel heaps better.
I'm glad I don't have to cut down on the fat, I've got so used to it and I think it adds/enhances flavour to food.

styledilemma · 24/06/2017 12:28

cathyclare

Control Pants would be a good temporary fix?

Especially if you got the ones that come halfway down the thighs and are more like a leotard type thing.

A word of advise - If you get the really mega controlling ones, get them in the next size up from your normal underwear, otherwise you won't be able to breath.
I speak from painful experience Hmm

dustmotesinthesun · 24/06/2017 12:33

The parmesan courgettes you can add almond flour and garlic powder too. They're delicious.

Youcantscaremeihavechildren · 24/06/2017 12:40

Thanks BIWI yes in just looking at what we can have where I just cut out the cards and add more meat or fat.
The recipe thread is great, we had got very boring in what we eat each week so hopefully it'll help us before adventurous.
Unfortunately I've got to page 3 and there's a lot of mention of cheese, cream and yoghurt though.. after accidentally having cheese yesterday and paying for it now the thought is making me ill...
I do have alternatives though, just not sure they are fatty enough. Sainsburys do a cream cheese, coconut based, which is alright (but £££ which is anoying) and a approx cream, a growing up approx milk that my son has which is very creamy and alpro yoghurt. All good alternativestuff usually but just not sure they're fatty enough. What about creamed coconut etc, could I use those instead of cream?
I'm also currently still bf my 2 year old (Hmm his choice...) but only twice a day maximum. That list me loads of weight over the past two years but it's really tailed off now and I'm stuck at 10st ish with a BMW of at least 27 and more worryingly body fat of over 40% so I need to do something fast to change the way I've been eating. I'm 40 this year and very aware I can't get away with it like I used to!
I'll keep checking out the recipes, off to the shops in a mo to spend a fortune on dairy free stuff so will see what I can make with that.

SayrraT · 24/06/2017 12:52

Coconut cream is fine but not creamed coconut so check the tin/pack carefully!

StuntNun · 24/06/2017 12:53

I like the new McDonalds ordering screens, you can customise your burger so voila - a bunless quarter pounder with cheese. They also have knives and forks which is much better than Burger King who are happy to make you a bunless burger but you have to eat it with your fingers.

I also went into a Costa and had an iced Americano with pouring cream. Note that you have to ask for pouring cream or they might put whipped cream on top. Although I'm seriously considering asking for both next time! Eating out on this WOE is getting easier all the time.

Oh god
Level 2 of 30 day shred done
I'm lying on the floor of the living room
I can't move. Send double cream

cathyandclare · 24/06/2017 13:39

Thanks Style- sadly I have only tried on with Spanx

bellalurgy · 24/06/2017 13:45

C4 Thank you for your kind words. I'm 55 now but have had years of counselling which couldn't 'fix' my disordered thinking. I'm just happy that a) my kids have grown up with self confidence and b) I married a lovely man a year ago who doesn't 'see' what I see. He understands but doesn't try to tell me I'm being daft/stupid/attention seeking as he knows my feelings come from a very deep place.

youcantscareme You can have alpro soya cream which is what I use. 1.2 carbs per 100ml and its lush. I save my proper cream for cooking and squirty cream for when I fancy some berries.

www.sainsburys.co.uk/shop/gb/groceries/alpro-long-life-alternative-to-cream-250ml

Make sure you buy the one with the broccoli on the front not the one with the strawberry (thats the low fat one)

cathyandclare · 24/06/2017 13:48

Confession though-I do have industrial Kim Kardashian style waist-training device.

That with the plank video and strict BC will surely whittle my midriff, anything so uncomfortable has to work!!!!

Naschkatze · 24/06/2017 14:01

Stunt Another fast food option that will make my DH happy. He's one of those people who can pretty much eat whatever and stay slim AngryEnvy I think it will all catch up with him eventually!

Cathyandclare
Looks torturous! I hope it works!

No plans today food wise, which was a bit scary.
We've got nothing in the fridge for dinner apart from a swede so I'm trying to think something to go with swede chips. Throw suggestions this way!
B - omelette with cinnamon and berries
L - avocado, 2 slices tomato, mozzarella and leftover roasted courgette and mushrooms.
??

styledilemma · 24/06/2017 14:03

Stuntnun
I've ordered that.
I wish they had an option where you could have lettuce with it.
Even better if they were to use 2 lettuce leaves as the bun part.
It would make it easier to pick up.

StuntNun · 24/06/2017 14:05

Ragz coconut flour sucks up water so that's probably why you aren't feeling great after it.

Adalind egg-only meals (fat and cheese don't count): scrambled eggs, boiled eggs with butter, cheese omelette, cream cheese pancakes.

I hope you steered clear of the pastries Finally

Sunborn I'm afraid two mint imperials contain approximately one million carbs. Wink I think you'll be fine.

Sayrra I think creamed coconut is okay for LCHF because it's dehydrated. You're supposed to add 500ml water to a 200g block to make coconut cream (1000ml for coconut water) so the carbs in it will be diluted. Having said that tinned coconut cream is better for some things because when you put it in the fridge the cream part separates out into a lovely thick texture.

styledilemma · 24/06/2017 14:09

Cathy

is it too late to buy another dress?

I'm sure there'll be other occasions when you can wear your tight but not for long dress.
