Good morning Flowers

So the last thread reached 1000 posts. I don't think that's ever happened on any other Bootcamp! It's a really good sign that everyone is engaged in the process, even if it's not always been from a positive place. If things aren't working for you, please keep reading and posting - even if you just lurk, hopefully the support and advice here will be helpful for you.

But it's a glorious day again, and the sun is shining brightly already and the birds are singing their hearts out. I hope that this translates into positivity and optimism for all of us this week - even if you've been struggling!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

We're past the dreaded weeks 4 and 5 now, so hopefully things will start to get going in the right direction, and you should see the weight move downwards - assuming, of course, that you aren't cheating or allowing carb creep.

Good luck everyone

Yep secret it was 31in at the start so have dropped 2in which I'm really happy with. So fellow boot campers I appear to have hit a wall and scales just haven't moved at all this week so far.

I only have about 8lbs to target so I assume it's going to get harder as I get closer, my appetite has gone and am struggling to eat and am down to 1 meal a day (I really can't force myself to eat as it makes me sick)

Today my food was:

No breakfast (only just tolerated it during the 2 week BC)

Lunch: chicken with satay sauce (was very creamy), broccoli and runner beans, strawberries and 48% fat cream for afters.

And that's it for the whole day, I'm not hungry and have drank 4.5litres of water.

Will this stall my weight loss? I don't eat cheese and cook everything with olive oil.

The only thing that's keeping me going is my shape is noticeably changing and my body fat has gone from 37.5% to 30.5%

C4 sorry to hear you're in pain, I broke C7 about 13 years ago and although I wasn't paralysed I was off my feet for around 6 months (I know that's not a patch on what you are going through but know how you feel)

Jiminey you look absolutely fabulous in that dress and am always surprised just how much confidence someone exudes when they are dressed 'right'

Everyone else, just keep keeping on and we'll all get where we're going Grin

Daisy62 · 22/06/2017 19:46

Fave parts of body... I have great breasts. And they nourished babies for 6 years. Also nice wrists and ankles.

styledilemma · 22/06/2017 20:05

Today I've been kind of good. The emphasis is on 'kind of'

B - 2 boiled eggs and a slice of flaxseed bread and butter
S - Pork scratchings
S - small peperrami
L - Lidl Protein roll with cheese and cucumber.
S - Creamy coffee
S - Creamy coffee
D - Fried salmon, broccoli with butter.

It's been a funny day foodwise. I was expecting it, as I have spent a large part of the day travelling in the car.

I had the munchies this evening (probably because I've eaten too much snacky, picky, processed stuff) Hmm and I have just demolished a whole, dry Protein Roll.

So today, I have had two whole protein rolls and a slice of flaxseed bread.
Too much 'bread' and I've since discovered that those protein rolls that everybody raves about aren't as innocent as they seem.
They contain wheat, amongst other things.
As soon as I tasted the first one, I thought this is too good to be true
Nothing tastes this good without there being a catch of some sort.

StuntNun · 22/06/2017 20:08

They may not be my favourite parts of my body but I am newly appreciative of my working spine and bowels.

styledilemma · 22/06/2017 20:17

cherries Your post shows how far you have come. thanks I am also going on holiday next week. As usual, I will be trying to stick to this woe where food is concerned, but alcohol will be consumed. We are going with friends and it is always boozy. I will try stick to vodka/soda. Have a fab time.

Wombatoo & Cherries Enjoy your hols.
I'm also off on my hols on Monday. I'm going to allow myself a few vodka/soda or gin/soda treats and possibly a dish of strawberries and cream here and there. There's no way am I undoing all the good work, not without putting up a fight anyway.
Cherries it's good that your family are supporting you!

styledilemma · 22/06/2017 20:21

Honestly. You really, really, really don't need to do this is you're fat-adapted, which you should be by now. All you're doing is giving your body carbs to burn instead of burning its own fat stores during a workout.

By adding back in things like oats, you're actually starting to sabotage your own best efforts!

BIWI When I first started this WOE I think I was scared that my body wouldn't be able to cope with exercise as well.
You are right though, my body doesn't really need those oats. In fact the last time I did an exercise class I only had a couple of raspberries and some ff yogurt and I managed the class just fine.

So I will stay away from the oats.
They only bloat me anyway.

OhTheRoses · 22/06/2017 20:24

Is this ok?

B: two egg omolette with grated cheese
L: 1 rollmop, lettuce and one tomato, esp sweet corn
D: two chicken thighs, lemon, marigold, curry powder, creme fraiche, fresh spinach leaves bunged in at the end, with kale and broc (not much).

Thank you.

After a few weeks of Insanity/30 day shred my legs are starting to take shape Grin

YoLoZammo · 22/06/2017 20:31

Jim dress is lovely!

I have put on weight around my middle. When I was your age, back when dinosaurs roamed the earth, I was pear shaped. Middle aged spread is not a misnomer! Now I'm an apple. My reference point is pregnancy, so I started this bc looking like I was 7-8 months pregnant. Now, a stone lighter I start the day at 4 months, end it at 5 months and when bloated I rack up a 6 monther. It's all at the top of my belly. Top belly if you like. It's shifting though and my bottom belly is more even but also shrinking. I'm hoping the fat is also disappearing from around my internal organs, because that's typical of tummy tyres but you just can't see it, and it's proper dangerous.

My aim is not to look pregnant at all Grin

C4 I used to work in a particular field where I met a lot of very disabled people. One guy had to have digital excavation and he was in his twenties having been in a car accident that killed his parents. He, like you, had a great sense of humour, and a very dark version of it too. He was also often very moody and difficult (why shouldn't he feel down and frustrated and angry?) Some of the agency home carers didn't warm to him because they didn't 'get' him. And they also preferred the clients who were more compliant, didn't answer back or cause a fuss. Without humour and a bit of chutzpah, how else can a person deal with a stranger putting their fingers up their bum so they can defecate? Gotta laugh or you cry, as my mum says.

Anyway, your fortitude shines through. I'm sorry you're having a difficult day today. Hope tomorrow is better.

YoLoZammo · 22/06/2017 20:42

My fave body bits: not much I like really misses the point of this but my feet aren't too fat or bunioned. Ears! I've been told I have nicely shaped small ears!

ilovecherries · 22/06/2017 20:51

Another 4 hours in the car today but let the holidays begin. Tomorrow just need to harass everyone into packing!

Breakfast : fasting
Lunch: posh sausage, bacon, egg, mushrooms with large bowl of raw buttered spinach. They couldn't quite believe in the pub that I really wanted the spinach!
Dinner: huge green salad, couple of mini mozzarella balls, flat iron steak, garlic butter.
Snack: a restorative Costa coffee with cream on the journey home

GoodBadOrIndifferent · 22/06/2017 20:54

Favourite bits: hands, long fingers, and bright blue eyes. I have a good figure. It's covered in fat but its an hourglass.
Food!
B : Embarassingly, a small amount if oppo salted caramel ice cream and 20g of 85% chocolate.
L: 2 eggs scrambled in butter, 2 slices flaxbread with butter and marmite
D: spicy aubergine with ricotta and parmesan and slim fettucini
S: creamy coffee, 2 small glasses of red

ilovecherries · 22/06/2017 20:55

Yolo, my top belly is just melting away. In the morning it is now def smaller than my lower belly, which is collapsing from the sides. Clothes are sitting so much better without that bump!

Youcantscaremeihavechildren · 22/06/2017 20:58

Hi all, I'd really like to jump in or at least try a toe hesitantly...
I need to lose about a stone but really it's my waist, my uncontrollable eating and sweet snacks I need to get on top of.
I've got a busy few weeks coming up though, should I just put it off?
Also I can't have dairy, I see lots of mention of dairy, can I manage on soya milk and yoghurt?

ragz134 · 22/06/2017 20:58

This thread is so inspiring at the moment. Loving it...
C4 body part challenge I like my shape, I'm Lucky to be tall and almost hourglass shaped (or vase if you use Trinny&Susannah's 12 shapes model) so even at 15 stone I didn't look that bad in clothes! I have a waist, even when I'm obese.

jim how tall are you? We have the sane goal weight which would put me at bmi of 22-23. I don't dare aim for 10 stone anything!

NHS staff and food I'm a student nurse (end of first year) and I started the year in the obese bmi range. I was determined not to be a fat nurse and not to gain weight over my course as so many students do.
Many nurses are overweight and I really think a lot is to do with hours and access to food. Although my current placement is only 8-10 hour shifts and I do get a lunch break, there is no food on site (community hospital) other than a volunteer run shop that only sells sweet treats, crisps and fizzy pop, not even fruit! It is appalling and makes me angry.

I am so in the zone at the moment, I haven't 'cheated' in weeks. Keep telling myself I can have something sugary as a treat and yet picking up my favourites in the shops and putting them back thinking 'nah, not worth the carbs'. Nothing appeals to me that much any more and everything tastes sweeter. I have never got to this point in a diet before, usually the initial burst for a month then the novelty wears off. I have been doing this for 5 1/2 months now and haven't ever lost this much weight, though I was at my heaviest when I started but I am currently at my lightest in about 3 years.

I have attached current progress photo, no apologies for fat woman in underwear, I'm lucky to have my body (thanks c4). Namaste bitches. Star

ragz134 · 22/06/2017 21:08

Oh, food!

12:45pm - Protein roll, cheese, ham, lettuce, mayo, butter.
5:30pm - deep fried chicken breast, stir fried cabbage and halloumi.
5:45pm - Greek yogurt with double cream and a dash of vanilla. Only managed half of it. I'm actually managing to atop eating when I'm full!

Full disclosure - I did eat 5 chips, but they are DH's homemade ones (with skin!) And given how amazing they are that is serious restraint.

Have attached graph showing my weight (when i tracked it, so starting and giving up diets) over the last 6 years, clearly showing failed dieting and weight regain... Determined not to repeat those mistakes. My pattern tended to be start diet early summer and give up around Autumn, gaining back over winter. To reach my goal at the rate of current loss of 3-4lb a month it will take me until Christmas so that will be a whole year. I CAN do it this time.

ragz134 · 22/06/2017 21:09

Um, attached Blush

MOIST · 22/06/2017 21:22

Namaste Bitches.

Been to Roller derby again and feel pretty damn good. Must be the exercise endorphins.

B/L 2 beef burgers fried in butter

D. Chicken souvlaki, tzatziki (cucumber, yogurt, garlic, mint), feta and olives in olive oil.

S. HB egg and leftover chicken.

dustmotesinthesun · 22/06/2017 21:26

Amazing ragz. So inspiring. You look so different

Laiste · 22/06/2017 21:30

Cheers secret and wombattoo :)

You're right about the carrots. I was staring into the fridge at lunchtime and they and the last scrape of tara. was all i could face Blush It's ridiculous because it's way too early to be struggling with choice! I need to give myself a kick.

Tonight after the steak and salad i tried one of the little 100g pots of the greek yog (5 carbs) i bought this afternoon with a blob of double cream and literally a few bits of flaked almond and it was DELISH! Grin What is the vanilla talked of here? Vanilla essence stirred in?

So that's breakfast sorted out thank goodness. I think if i'm not having to face meat/cheese/egg in the mornings then the other two meals of the day will be much much easier to do and i will go on.

Is it possible that in one week i've lost a little bit round my ribs (just under bra band)? DH says he thinks so (or is he just being encouraging, love him)

kermit i remember getting stuck (plateauing ?) at about 6/7lbs before my goal weight last time. It did shift in the end, stay strong Flowers

ASDismynormality · 22/06/2017 21:33

My fave part of my body used to me stomach, even when overweight it was pretty flat - after 5 pregnancies and a lot of weight gain it's massive. My nose of probably my favourite part, it sticks up a bit and two of my children have the same nose!

Naschkatze · 22/06/2017 21:47

I haven't managed to catch up with all of the thread this evening yet - I will do!

But can someone tell me why I feel like I've got no energy? For example (and this is ridiculous for a person of my age, under 30, and fairly fit and healthy) but my legs seem tired just going up and down stairs Blush It's not normal for me, even at 40 weeks pregnant I was walking a couple of miles everyday and stairs were definitely no issue! It's happened since starting BC but I was expecting it to improve once I got into the swing of it.

Food today:
B - Yoghurt and raspberries. (Yes I said less dairy but I needed something quick. Plan to boil eggs to put in the fridge for this situation.)
L - Tuna mayo, avocado and salad leaves. Rapeseed oil dressing.
D - BBQ with friends. Burger, roasted veg kebabs, salad leaves with cucumber. (I did marinade some prawns which smelled delicious but then our BBQ ended in an incident with a pigeon and they became inedible..Hmm) Strawberries and cream
S- salami, 2 sq dark chocolate.

secretsignal · 22/06/2017 22:00

Nasch Have you had your iron checked? I felt like that when I was anaemic.

lurknolinger · 22/06/2017 22:02

Welcome youcantscareme, yes you can do this dairy free, there's a few people on this thread that are dairy free, im sure one of them will be along soon to help.
