Good morning Flowers

So the last thread reached 1000 posts. I don't think that's ever happened on any other Bootcamp! It's a really good sign that everyone is engaged in the process, even if it's not always been from a positive place. If things aren't working for you, please keep reading and posting - even if you just lurk, hopefully the support and advice here will be helpful for you.

But it's a glorious day again, and the sun is shining brightly already and the birds are singing their hearts out. I hope that this translates into positivity and optimism for all of us this week - even if you've been struggling!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

We're past the dreaded weeks 4 and 5 now, so hopefully things will start to get going in the right direction, and you should see the weight move downwards - assuming, of course, that you aren't cheating or allowing carb creep.

Good luck everyone

Great challenge C4, I'm thinking...

Oh, I have very fine wrists and ankles, entirely genetics but I like to show them off, usually wearing short or at most 3/4 length sleeves.

Bibs2014 · 22/06/2017 14:51

I just read your challenge C4 - what a great idea!

I have really nice eyes - always get complimented on them and make up artists say they're the perfect shape for making up. I also have great teeth, all straight and naturally white.

JiminnyCricket · 22/06/2017 15:04

Ooooh I have this challenge C4 Grin

I like my eyes too :) they are brown and probably too big for the rest of my face, but they are what DP first noticed about me apparently Grin

I also love my brain. It's endlessly analytical, buggered up at times but very quick to learn and means I'm shit hot at my job because I can just naturally understand things without having to think around it too much. Its also bloody stubborn too, makes me determined and gives me a defiance that so far has helped me loads :)

boldlygoingsomewhere · 22/06/2017 15:05

I have quite an athletic figure - slim arms and legs and can tone quite quickly. I'm also amazed that I grew and fed an new human being.

Sunborn · 22/06/2017 15:06

Oh, good challenge. I like my hair, and my skin. I took roaccutene for acne a year or so ago and my acne on my back has totally gone. It's so strange not feeling ashamed or uncomfortable in a bikini anymore.

And, while sadly I have put weight back on when I've lost it, I've never gone back to my heaviest weight. So I'm proud of that. I wasn't comfortable in my body then.

I want to post my progress photo but it's so identifying!

GoodBadOrIndifferent · 22/06/2017 15:49

MOIST that is beautiful. My fingers are itching Grin

dustmotesinthesun · 22/06/2017 15:55

I have nice hair too. It's quite long and thick and a really nice shade of brown. I also have a really shapely waist. It makes me look slimmer than I am in lots of ways. I have nice breasts too but they are currently underappreciated (single) Wink

Working 13 hours with no lunch break must be hell. I don't know how you do it. I am also always very shocked by the weight issues nurses have generally. It says there is something going very wrong about the culture in the NHS and how workers are valued/given time to eat properly. It's a ticking timebomb.

I love seaweed crisps. Don't buy them often but they taste v nice and are v good for you.

Naschkatze · 22/06/2017 16:09

Jim You looked fab in the dress!

C4 Sorry you've been in so much pain today. I hope that some rest will help a little.
Good idea for the positivity challenge!

I too love my breasts at the moment. They are a decent size for the first time in my life (used to be flat chested!) and are doing an amazing job of keeping my little boy alive!
I also quite like my waist and stomach area. It is a bit ahem softer at the moment but is quite flat at my ideal weight. Plus, it just carried a human for 9 months!

MOIST · 22/06/2017 16:17

NSV!!!!!!

I went to get my face threaded. Lovely threading lady said my skin is looking good and my pores are closing up..

So now I have no beard and good skin.

glenthebattleostrich · 22/06/2017 16:34

Hi all,

C4, you are amazing. I am in awe of your strength. Thanks

Jim, you look awesome.

Discovered aldi are borrowing ideas from M&S. Manchego and serano rolls (10 for £2.19) with salad for lunch and a Spanish platter purchased for tomorrow or Saturday. So much cheaper than marksies and 10 mins by bus.

Yoga tonight but not much else exercise wise as trying to finish a baby blanket for tomorrow morning (eek).

I have seriously bad water retention at the minute, apparently I'm 7lb heavier than on Monday today.

Firefries · 22/06/2017 16:57

Ok so I managed to start and it didn't take long to fail. I don't know why but for the first time in months I was wanting crisps and ate crisps while waiting for dinner. I have not had them in my diet for about 3-4 months now so know idea what went wrong. Apart from that I had
(D) sausage and coleslaw,
(B) strawberries for breakfast with creamy coffee (before I realized theres no fruit or berries for the first few weeks),
(L) sausage, scrambled eggs for lunch with coleslaw.
Water, so far has been hard to drink but I'm working on it. I'm going to keep trying. I'll get there I just need to be better prepared.
Well done to all of you so far for all your hard work. You are encouraging me to really do this. Thanks.

Sunborn · 22/06/2017 17:01

Other people know WAY more than me, Firefries but it doesn't seem like you're eating many vegetables.

They're so great for filling you up. Maybe you got hungry, and that's why you wanted the crisps?

Kleptronic · 22/06/2017 17:13

Nice one C4, we could do with celebrating ourselves. Bits of anyway!

I've got fantastic legs. Really well turned pins, whatever size I am. People stop me in the street and remark on them. Not in a pervy way. Hard to feel smug though because they just grew that way, but still.

Firefries · 22/06/2017 17:31

Sunborn yes you are definitely right on that. Although the coleslaw was more like a salad of the veges with mayo on the side, and I really tried to fill up on mostly veges with my meals. I wonder if it's just the wrong type of veges. I need to do some more research I think. Thanks for the tip.

secretsignal · 22/06/2017 17:39

Have become slightly obsessed with the instant flavoured coffees (caramel and roasted hazelnut, yum) but does anyone know of a decaf version? I've got serious coffee jitters!!

dustmotesinthesun · 22/06/2017 17:42

Kleptronic I am deeply jealous. I have always had heavy legs and would love to have toned pins.

Really happy today. My friend came to see me. She took a photo of me and messaged it to me. I suddenly look...different! I am very round generally. Big round face, round shoulders, big round bum and even my legs have always just looked round. And suddenly I'm pointy! I have a chin and my face is more heart shaped, my shoulders point out my cardi, my knees are pointy too and my legs have shape to them. My waist looked trim too. I think I turned a corner! She remarked on how different I looked. She was quite taken aback.

Good food day again so far. Eggs for breakfast with some veggies (forgot to eat any fat), beefburger and avo with mayo for lunch, with some homemade veggie soup. Pork chop for supper I think with some veg and maybe a few strawberries. Have been better at drinking but still need some more.

secretsignal · 22/06/2017 17:53

Answering my own question Grin have discovered beanies have caramel and cookie dough flavour in decaf, has anyone tried them?

Laiste · 22/06/2017 17:56

Hello all x may i join please? Late to the party as usual!
I've lost a big chunk of weight twice in the past - once on low calorie, back in the 90s, and then on the Atkins in 2006ish (3 stone). So i know i can do it, however, being late 40s now means the weight is much harder to shift! gah.

I don't weigh myself as i become very obsessed very quickly and things have got a bit out of hand in the past. I've got about 3 stone to shift again. Had DD4 3 years ago - body has never recovered!

I began low carbing last sat. So only day 6 here!

Apatite has buggered off - but my food issues are kicking in and i'm already feeling sick at the thought of eating egg, meat or cheese for breakfast. Found this thread as a result of googling what the heck to eat for breakfast other than the above and am so grateful to discover i can have a bit of FF greek yog with a few nuts. Last couple of days i've been eating very little all day rather than face the egg/cheese/meat/salad combos and i know that's not the way to go. I can't seem to help myself though :( It's weird 'cos i'm not craving carbs either Confused

So, waves to everyone :) Ploughing through the threads catching up and am insipired and humbled by some of these stories.

Today's fare has been:
B - 1 oxo in hot water
L - couple of carrot sticks and a table spoon or so or taramasalata.
D - will be a steak, yay! - love steak - with a bit of salad.

Laiste · 22/06/2017 17:57

Oh, C4 your challenge - i like my skin. It's wrinkle resist Grin

secretsignal · 22/06/2017 18:04

C4 I like my hair at the moment, have had it highlighted blond and it's all summery. Also liking my boobs better since they shrunk a bit and I got a super-hoikey bra. Hope you're feeling a bit better.

secretsignal · 22/06/2017 18:15

Welcome Laiste

lurknolinger · 22/06/2017 18:23

Secret I have recently ordered the caramel decaf beanies coffee. I tried it black at first and found it tasted a bit 'chemically' to me. But have since tried it with double cream which changes the taste and is really nice.

CodLiverOil556 · 22/06/2017 18:42

I like my waist, it's always been hiding under my flab but now measures 29in and finally looks good Grin

secretsignal · 22/06/2017 18:53

Thanks Lurk I'm going to give it a go. Will report back on the cookie dough one. Kermit that's awesome, did you measure at the start of BC? I didn't measure at the start, wish I had. I am now 31.5, would love to get to 28/29.

wombattoo · 22/06/2017 19:07

Welcome Laiste
If you are still in week one of bootcamp, you should be eating breakfast.
Carrot is quite carby and should really be avoided as should nuts.
I know you say you are struggling for breakfast but you can eat leftovers from your evening meal. It doesn't have to be eggs.
Have a look at the recipe threads, there are loads of ideas on there.
Jump right in if you have any questions Thanks
