Good morning Flowers

So the last thread reached 1000 posts. I don't think that's ever happened on any other Bootcamp! It's a really good sign that everyone is engaged in the process, even if it's not always been from a positive place. If things aren't working for you, please keep reading and posting - even if you just lurk, hopefully the support and advice here will be helpful for you.

But it's a glorious day again, and the sun is shining brightly already and the birds are singing their hearts out. I hope that this translates into positivity and optimism for all of us this week - even if you've been struggling!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

We're past the dreaded weeks 4 and 5 now, so hopefully things will start to get going in the right direction, and you should see the weight move downwards - assuming, of course, that you aren't cheating or allowing carb creep.

Good luck everyone

The meatballs were great, a good-sized portion of meatballs, tomato sauce and cheese. We had the Caesar salad too (minus the croutons which came in a little plastic bag so they were easy to remove) but in hindsight I should have got one salad each as it was really too small to serve two. The plain chicken wings are low carb too, as is the garlic and herb dip. The Red Hot wings are higher carb but probably worth the extra carbs as they're so nice.

Meals yesterday
B: Cup of bone broth as fasting
L: Chorizo chips with Brie. Strawberries with hm yogurt and vanilla cream (I didn't like it - far too sweet)
D: Three low-ish carb sausages with roasted courgette, peppers and red onion, steamed broccoli with melted butter
Snack: one single pork scratching!
Eleventy billion litres of water

Meals today
B: Cup of bone broth
L: Three eggs scrambled in butter with two leftover sausages
Snack: Chorizo chips with soft cheese, 25g dark chocolate and ginger puddles
D: Meatballs and salad
Lots more water: fizzy water with a sour cherry teabag in

I have Pilates today for the first time in years and I'm very out of shape so I'm sure I'll be in a terrible state tomorrow.

ilovecherries · 21/06/2017 18:28

Breakfast : two posh sausages in lettuce wraps, eaten in the car!
Lunch: various reasons, completely caught out. Did the best I could with raspberries and clotted cream, forgoing the sandwiches, the scones and the jam.
Dinner: roast chicken leg, large green salad with fried mushrooms and grated Parmesan on top, dressed with olive oil

Snacks: none yet, but I may have a creamy coffee later.
Water: 2L, still drinking though.

nekobus · 21/06/2017 18:39

Ah nameless, I too am seeking the elusive BTD, although I have been known to spread butter on slices of brie...

Today:
B - creamy coffee
L - leftover meatballs and sauce (a very small portion)
Late afternoon snack - king prawns dipped in mayonnaise and some of the DCs sausages (LC)
D - and now I'm not hungry!! Maybe salad...
Lots and lots of water.
Off to put fruit tea bag in fizzy water as reminded by Stunt!

ragz134 · 21/06/2017 19:08

Evening all. Quick update as I really should be writing my essay (as we cried off karate tonight due to the 30°+ heat).

12:45pm - Lidl protein roll, cheese, butter, mayo and lettuce.
5:30pm - stir fry made with chopped burger, halloumi, cabbage and a few cherry tomatoes, smoked paprika, garlic granules and basil. Even DH said it looked and tasted better than their pizzas!
LOTS of water. 4 black coffees.

New lowest weight this morning. Halo

JiminnyCricket · 21/06/2017 19:12

Good lord this belly Pork was amazing Grin

It looks it!

I'm having a hungry day today as well:
B - microwave scrambled eggs with ham
L - tuna, avocado, jalapenos & salad. This time with melted cheese over the top. OMG. Sublime.
S - some cheese that DD2 didn't eat & spooned some cream out of the tub. Don't usually do this!
D - got some salmon & tenderstem broccoli but neither of us are hungry yet

1 earl grey with almond milk, 2 coffee machine grande coffees with hazelnut milk and an absolute shedload of water.

StuntNun · 21/06/2017 19:19

This is my roast chicken that wasn't ready in time for dinner. We're going to have the best picnic at school sports day tomorrow!

GoodBadOrIndifferent · 21/06/2017 19:56

Well after an utter panic, a thank fuck negative pregnancy test and the arrival of my period I'm desperately hoping my weight gain is water retention. I was another pound up this morning, making a 5lb gain in a week
Food today hasn't been great:
B: bit of courgette and cheese omelette, creamy coffee
L: rest of omelette
D: chilli with cauliflower rice and sour cream
S: few pecans. Too much oppo ice cream most of the tub Blush
I haven't formally tracked my food but I can't stop weighing myself. It's like watching a car crash.
BIWI I know I'm complaining a lot but I am very grateful for bootcamp, thank you!

SayrraT · 21/06/2017 20:02

While people are arranging meetings if anyone is going to the royal Highland show tomorrow or Friday and wants to meet then let me know.

hippadoppaloppagorillapig · 21/06/2017 20:09

Oh yes, NSV - I caved & weighed yesterday, weight hasn't changed, but I also did my measurements. Since the beginning of the month, I've lost 0.5in from my waist, 3in from my hips and an amazing 5in from my saddlebags! All thanks to butter and Jillian Michaels!

My colleague that I hadn't seen for a month or so asked me yesterday if I was shrinking and that I looked "extra petite" so it must be true. I'm walking on air.

ChesterDrawers · 21/06/2017 20:20

Hungry day here too. Don't know if I had something a bit too carby when I ate out last night without realising it or whether it was just one of those days.

Ended up snacking on a few chunks of Cheshire cheese and a slice of flax bread with almond butter this afternoon.

Made sure I used plenty of butter in my swede madh tonight to fill me up - so hard, this low carb life Grin

C4pinkwheels · 21/06/2017 20:31

Jiminny if I'd known you were having that for dinner I would have come and joined you, it looks yummy.

Still haven't made it into the bath, the pains kicked in big time.

I've made eating dinner a priority instead of a bath.

Today I've eaten

Naked BLT with creamy coffee
Cappuccino from Costa
Chicken on a stick
Seed crackers buttered, cheese, salami, two sticks of celery and pate
FF yogurt with double cream and a few blueberries
Three litres of water so far.

That looks like a lot of dairy

dustmotesinthesun · 21/06/2017 21:19

C4 i was in hospital a lot as a teen and saw lots of kids go to have what you had done today. I always thought it looked really tough to get through so well done managing. I hope some meds sort the pain. And hope tomorrow isn't too hard.

Goodbad my weight shoots up when on my period. So annoying.

I had a successful day. I went out for supper. I planned before hand what i woukd have and determined not to cheat and i did it! Chuffed with myself. Have proved to myself i can do it. The bread and wine and pudding all looked so good but nope. I'd rather lose weight thank you very much twirls

dustmotesinthesun · 21/06/2017 21:21

Also jiminny does the slow cooker get the crackling that crispy? Cos i have a slow cooker and if so, i'll be trying it that way! Do you just not add liquid? Do you brown it in a pan first?

SayrraT · 21/06/2017 21:23

I just had the most delicious flat peach chopped up with cream. It was AMAZING!

nekobus · 21/06/2017 21:37

Same questions as dust from me! That pork looks so good!!

Well done hippa - great NSVs

Not sure if it counts as an NSV but I threw out half a chocolate cake that was taunting me. Felt good!

MOIST · 21/06/2017 22:03

Busy day at work so my meal times have been screwed up.

B. At 11.30. HB egg, cheese, slice of ham, olives

S. At 15.00. Greek yogurt with berries

L. At 17.30. A cold beef burger. Celery. Cucumber

D. 22.00. Knackered so had some egg mayo with butter in and some cheese.

Day off tomorrow so need to plan.

HemanOrSheRa · 21/06/2017 22:10

Are we allowed peaches? One ripe peach. I would anything for a peach .

SayrraT · 21/06/2017 22:14

Well...not really but they are so delicious! The flat ones are about 8g carbs I think.

Ana999 · 21/06/2017 22:14

Wow!! So many resources!! It's amazing. I'm planning to start tomorrow which will be tricky as I haven't been shopping. I think it will be a day of eggs, green salad and bought roast chicken.
It's do-able. I just have to stay strong.

HemanOrSheRa · 21/06/2017 22:20

That's not too bad for a treat Sayrra. I might see if I can buy a couple of loose ones rather than a punnet as that wouldn't end well!

Mandelinka · 21/06/2017 22:20

Good evening all!
jiminny I've never heard of GADbefore you mentioned it, but I have a feeling my husband may suffer from it. He often gets anxious and situations are either black or white ( mainly black) and his reactions can be rather extreme ( giving up, quitting job, moving away etc)
I always thought he may have Asperger syndrome, he is really peculiar in many areas and emotionaly up and down all the time. It can be really draining.
I will read on GAD a bit more to understand the condition better.

Food yesterday and today was very similar.
B: mackerel salad, green pepper
L: raw cauliflower and broccoli 'rice' salad, omelette with cheese and mushrooms. 100g ff yoghurt
D: bowl of soup ( celery, spinach, onion , 1/4 of sweet potatoe). 2 chicken drumsticks ( roasted, skin on, plenty of oil)
S: 10 cherries, spoonful of peanut butter
2.5 l water or more. Lost count
11k steps

Mandelinka · 21/06/2017 22:27

Mmmm, I love those doughnut peaches. My DS had some the other day and I had to chop it up for him, had a little taste and it was soooo good.

I've been really missing fruit.
I need an advice please, I have a nutribullet and I'm missing smoothies. I was thinking of having celery, spinach, 1/2 apple + water green smoothie. Would the apple be really counterproductive? I guess berries would be a better option.... but I am really craving an apple.

Naschkatze · 21/06/2017 22:35

Mandelinka I use avocados in smoothies, it makes them thick and creamy. Avocado, almond milk, yoghurt and frozen raspberries is my go to. You don't need too many raspberries. Can't answer about the apple - they can be quite sweet so I imagine fairly carby.

JiminnyCricket · 21/06/2017 22:56

The pork is 13 hours in the slow cooker without any liquid, just propped up off the bottom with leeks, and then you take it out, dry the skin with kitchen roll, rub salt in it and whack it in a hot oven for 20 mins to crisp up.

Make sure you score the skin really well before you put it in. I left it in 13 hours because it went in at 5am, but 8 hours would probably work better in the lowest heat :)
