Good morning Flowers

So the last thread reached 1000 posts. I don't think that's ever happened on any other Bootcamp! It's a really good sign that everyone is engaged in the process, even if it's not always been from a positive place. If things aren't working for you, please keep reading and posting - even if you just lurk, hopefully the support and advice here will be helpful for you.

But it's a glorious day again, and the sun is shining brightly already and the birds are singing their hearts out. I hope that this translates into positivity and optimism for all of us this week - even if you've been struggling!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

We're past the dreaded weeks 4 and 5 now, so hopefully things will start to get going in the right direction, and you should see the weight move downwards - assuming, of course, that you aren't cheating or allowing carb creep.

Good luck everyone

Hi!
Thought I'd check in.

B - 1 slice of Flaxeed bread & butter + 3 giant strawberries
L- Tapas - Meatballs in tomato sauce + Garlic mushrooms in butter (no breadcrumbs)
D - Big plate of ham and cheese salad (mixed greens).
S - Creamy coffee
S - Slice of flaxseed bread & butter.

Tomorrow might be slightly more processed, because we're going out for the day and I need to eat on the move.
but I will still try to keep it really low carb (thinking babybels, pepperamis, pork scratchings) that type of thing.

In the past I would pack apples and bananas.
I miss fruit for this reason Sad - it's a very handy snack and things like apples, oranges and bananas travel well and don't go off or get stinky.

shittymctwatface · 21/06/2017 23:22

Omg Jim that pork looks fab.

Breakfast: teaspoon of cream in coffee
1L water

Lunch: eggs in masses of butter - I could only taste butter and it's the happiest I've felt in days!!!
1L water.

Snack: tiny packet of pork scratchings and iced coffee with almond milk.

Dinner:pork chop with salad of olives, red cabbage, avocado, courgette, celery, leaves, feta cheese (about 60g) and mayo/chilli oil mix.
1L water.

Pudding: creamy coffee - 1tsp cream and 2tsp from the tub, which I wouldn't normally do but I have discovered extra thick double cream!!

1.2L water throughout the evening.

Is this to much dairy?

Mandelinka · 21/06/2017 23:30

nashkatze
Thank you, I thought of using avocado to make it more palatable. May experiment tomorrow.

styledilemma · 21/06/2017 23:30

She did say though she reccomends a small portion of oats with full fat yoghurt to LCHF'ers who do morning workouts regularly and to up their carbs to 50g a day on work out days

Jimmini I sometimes have a very small portion of oats or a bowl of berries and yogurt before a hard workout.
It's better to be safe than sorry.

styledilemma · 21/06/2017 23:34

Longer term is it possible to maintain by keeping very low carb for breakfast and lunch before a more "normal" family meal? We're struggling with dinner ideas and my stomach is dodgy, heartburn and nausea, a small amount of brown rice/sweet potato/lentils would help a lot. I'd make sure I was keeping low carb overall and sugar/refined carbs would be a only for very special occasions. What do people normally do when down to target weight?

Good question Shastabeast

sheepysheep · 22/06/2017 00:14

Jim your pork belly looks amazing!! [homer Simpson drool face]

Meet up sounds fun --- but Sayrra is too far north and the Namaste crew are too far south ... I'm piggy in the middle in the Yorkshire dales!

YoLoZammo · 22/06/2017 00:30

I haven't caught up with the last 24 hrs yet, but someone mentioned the 3 nut butter that I posted about before. It's not 12g carbs per 100g it's 6.8g.

C4pinkwheels · 22/06/2017 04:24

Shastabeast when I did LC and hit my target weight years ago I did LC during the week and ate pretty normally at weekends, it was the right balance for me.

Sheepysheep Yorkshire isn't that far away from Derbyshire

littlebillie · 22/06/2017 06:21

I've hit my first major goal today 😃

hippadoppaloppagorillapig · 22/06/2017 07:10

Well done littlebillie!

Thank God the weather is a bit cooler today, I'm retaining water like a mofo. Was a struggle to get into my top & jeans this morning. Going to increase my water even more over the next few days. Got our friend's birthday meal on Saturday so want to look my best.

StuntNun · 22/06/2017 07:17

Great news LittleBillie.

I have a jar of the Meridian almond butter which iirc is 6.8g carbs per 100g. I haven't used it yet because I'm not sure what to do with it. Maybe I'll try and make a low carb satay.

YoLoZammo · 22/06/2017 07:28

It's funny isn't it, we have such a food culture of spreading things. On bread, crackers, scones, etc.

Look at how popular jam, marmalade, peanut butter, marmite, pate, cream cheese etc is. I'm almost craving a sourdough slice with butter and jam right now, but not as much as I want to make my fat piss right off!!

readyforno2 · 22/06/2017 08:06

I've done it! Broken through the 13st barrier! 12 13!! There was me thinking there wasn't going to be a loss this week.

cathyandclare · 22/06/2017 08:26

Wow, you're a chatty bunch! Some really inspiring stories, congratulations on the losses and the NSV. Amazing progress towards GNR2019 C4, hope your pain is under better control today.

Interested to read all the articles, I too am fascinated/obsessed with the research and watched a really fascinating video about Coconut Oil and dementia, it's or I wrote a bit of a simplified summary

I've been AWOL from the thread and just caught up, have been away with work but KOKO with Bootcamp Light. I feel slimmer, but will weigh tomorrow when I get home. I usually work from home and it's all too easy to spend the whole day wandering back and for to the fridge to grab chunks of cheese! A few days away tend to stop me snacking.

One week to get into my dress. Giraffe you already look gorgeous in your outfit. No clue what I'll eat today, on the road so will grab some M+S low carb goodies. Whoever recommended the almond ice coffees...I love you!

ilovecherries · 22/06/2017 08:29

We go on holiday on Monday. Today none of my new summer dresses fit. Grin I have just put emergency express delivery orders in with Boden and Seasalt and returned the existing ones. Will swing past M&S later for a couple of pairs of white linen trousers, the ones I have were about to have their fifth summer, so this year was their last outing anyway, but today the crotch was half way down my thigh on them. T shirts are bizarrely all still ok, so not sure what they must have been like before.

BIWI · 22/06/2017 08:29

Honestly. You really, really, really don't need to do this is you're fat-adapted, which you should be by now. All you're doing is giving your body carbs to burn instead of burning its own fat stores during a workout.

By adding back in things like oats, you're actually starting to sabotage your own best efforts!

ready, that's fantastic, such a great feeling.

C4pinkwheels · 22/06/2017 08:44

Well done littlebillie and ready

Yolo love the reference to my fat can piss right off Smile

As predicted I am in seven shades of screaming agony this morning. The good thing about being in this much pain is that it kills appetite dead. I'm staying in bed for now, DIL will bring me a hot drink before she leaves in about an hour.

I will report back on food later but it won't be carby, not in my gorgeous body, not now, not until I'm slap bang in the middle of a normal BMI.

boldlygoingsomewhere · 22/06/2017 08:50

I was out all day yesterday and am just catching up on the thread. C4, glad it went ok in the end. How lovely that so many BCampers offered to help - sadly I'm too far away to be of any use.

Well done, ready and littlebillie too. It's so motivating when you see a difference.

I'm starting to see a difference in the mirror - I look much slimmer from the side.

I've recently tried LoveLife bread which is only 3.4g carbs per slice. It was nice but it's given me a slightly dodgy tum so I don't think I will have it again. I'm wondering if it's the wheat...

dustmotesinthesun · 22/06/2017 08:51

Sorry it's so horrendous c4

MOIST · 22/06/2017 08:51

My scales appear to be going the wrong way but don't know why. No double cream or wine this week.
Possibly heat - fingers and toes all puffy but cooler today. Also AF but that doesn't usually affect my weight.
I'm drinking enough water - 3 - 4 litres a day. No carbyshit (apart from wine and none this week).

Could it be that I eat on the run as and when I can. And I've had a mental busy couple of weeks. More snacks than proper meals. But with work that doesn't work. I just eat a handful of stuff as and when I can.
Also I eat in the evenings. I could eat salad and something at 6 ish, and then 'need' a little something at 8 or 9 so I'll have a bit of cheese, or yogurt, or something. Again, snacking.

And I go on holiday in 2 weeks and I'm still bloody fat!

OhTheRoses · 22/06/2017 08:52

Yesterday which was day 8 I had total yoghurt for breakfast, a beefburger and salad for lunch, a lamb steak and roasted veg for supper (half a pack for two). Have lost 6lb on my scales.

Just weighed on the big scales at the shopping centre which weigh 6lb heavier than the scales at home. I know they'd have been 6lb heavier than that a week ago but still totally demoralizing.

YoLoZammo · 22/06/2017 09:02

C4 glad to hear the hospital visit wasn't quite as painful and tiring as you feared. Maybe the new low carb you is more resilient or has more energy? I'm sure the morphine helped too!

I had an NSV yesterday. I TUCKED IN a top into a skirt. Yes you read that correctly. Tucked In. Like I almost had a waist or something. And the skirt did up and not just under my boobs. In the middle of my torso. And there was minimal muffin over the waistband. It was a revelation.

YoLoZammo · 22/06/2017 09:06

Oh Gosh, C4 my comment above was about yesterday. Sorry to hear today is really bad for you.

FinallyHere · 22/06/2017 09:08

Oh necobus threw out half a chocolate cake that was taunting me. Felt good!

That's genius. I like to think of it as a staring competition with things I don't want to eat. Gives me energy to not give in. Vanquishing the enemy totally like that, I love it.
