We filled up the last thread and we still have 3 weeks to go until the next official BC so here is our new inbetween BC thread.

Link to previous thread

So, I was good yesterday and now all of my confessions are lost on the previous thread Grin but I am going to carry on with daily weighing and food recording so this morning I weighed 225 lbs.

Well done plum

god knows why but in the 3 weeks I've been doing this my scales have only dropped 1lb, but I've lost in total everywhere about 9 inches.

Holiday tomorrow so a last 2 days of strictness before cocktails galore Smile

plumstone · 29/04/2015 09:19

Ah yes Baby, but inches are the sign of real actual shrinkage!!! keep going with the strictness - cocktails will be all the sweeter Grin xoxo

CrabbyTheCrabster · 29/04/2015 09:26

Thought I'd share a quick recipe.

Made a really lovely batch of cauliflower rice last night; blitzed it in the food processor as have done previously but then instead of frying it I roasted it...

Plenty of olive oil in a baking dish, heated in a 200*C oven until oil very hot. Then added three anchovies (the kind in jars in olive oil, not the vinegary sort) and let them sizzle and break up on stirring so that they're dissolved into the oil. They give a gorgeous salty umami taste to things (not fishy at all). Then I sprinkled in some hot pimenton and some turmeric and stirred it all about before adding the blitzed cauli (one big head of it) and tossed it all thoroughly in the oil to coat. Baked it for about 15-20 mins, tossing regularly so it cooked evenly. It was bloody lush with beef stroganoff and I'm going to fry up the rest today as egg fried 'rice' with some prawns.

lisbapalea · 29/04/2015 09:36

Thanks Crabby I had a feeling I was being a bit 'light' rather than the real thing. I need to ditch the dairy I think, or at least scale it back so it's not the main part of a meal (i.e. yogurt for breakfast). Is full fat milk in coffee a real no no?

Will try and be hardcore for the rest of the week.

Really want to join Bootcamp but it's my birthday on 13th - could I start on the 14th instead of the 11th do you think?!

plumstone · 29/04/2015 09:42

Lis, I feel your pain I am in the states 9th till the 14th and feel I may need to postpone starting till i get back. However I should try to stick to it while there, as its a "work" trip not holiday, aiming to walk lots (its an event so will be on my feet) and drink loads of water (air-conditioned event hall). However there are networking event each evening aka parties!!!!!! Flowers for birthday!!! xoxo

DramaAlpaca · 29/04/2015 09:49

Morning all.

I seem to be losing and gaining the same 2lb at the moment. I'm in Week 5, so I know it's to be expected. On the bright side I've lost it again this morning, so I hope it stays off this time. Was cold & hungry all day yesterday, so going by what people upthread have been saying, maybe it will. I definitely look slimmer, just wish I'd taken my measurements at the beginning so I'd have proof!

Have a good day everyone.

TheHappyCamper · 29/04/2015 10:32

I could have written your post drama. The same lb keeps coming and going. I haven't properly lost anything since day 12 (now day 25) but I do feel slimmer. I didn't take any measurements at the start to compare with.

However, I am going to stick with this WOE as for once in my life I'm not going hungry and I'm really enjoying all the food without feeling terribly deprived. I've decided to do BC from May 11th fully and with 100% commitment to see if I can start things moving again, as I've been doing BClite really.

I've also bought lots of stuff: food processor, US measuring cups, coconut and almond flours, flax seeds etc, so don't want to give up and waste money! KOKO hey Smile

DramaAlpaca · 29/04/2015 11:21

Same here TheHappyCamper. I'm enjoying eating this way, I'm not feeling hungry & deprived (well, most of the time I'm not) and like you I've stocked up on stuff I wouldn't otherwise have bought so don't want to waste it. Which reminds me, I need to pop back to the health food shop to pick up coconut oil & organic peanut butter.

I've really been doing BClite too, to ease myself in & wean myself off sugar, caffeine and most carby stuff. It's worked quite well so far, so I should be all geared up to commit to BC proper from 11th May.

CrabbyTheCrabster · 29/04/2015 11:35

Lis BC light is fine for anything other than the two induction weeks of BC - I didn't mean light as in 'you're not doing it properly'. Grin

I need to ditch the dairy I think, or at least scale it back so it's not the main part of a meal (i.e. yogurt for breakfast). Is full fat milk in coffee a real no no?

Dairy (yoghurt, double cream, cheese) stalls some people and not others. It's a good way of getting fat into your meals if it doesn't stall you. Milk is a bit carbier so you have to be careful... a dash in tea or coffee is ok, a big slug of it/ a latte or cappucino is not! Much better (and nicer) to use double cream in your coffee.

Will try and be hardcore for the rest of the week. Really want to join Bootcamp but it's my birthday on 13th - could I start on the 14th instead of the 11th do you think?!

I've got a similar issue with my birthday coming up so I'm starting the hardcore fortnight next Thursday so I can drink wine switch to BC light for the bank holiday weekend. If you started the BC induction phase today, you could switch to BC light on your birthday? Or start on the 14th and just continue a few days longer (some people don't switch to BC light after a fortnight anyhow).

lisbapalea · 29/04/2015 11:47

Thanks Crabby - don't worry I didn't think you were dissing my attempts! I am just worrying about how quickly I am slipping into the 'light' option when I only actually started doing this two weeks ago, admittedly not totally hardcore for all of that as this weekend was a write off, but I don't want to fall into the light option too quickly, especially as I have 2st+ to lose!

I might try and get back on the hardcore wagon as of today (although I just had a celery stick dunked into almond butter - is that allowed in phase 1?) and then go lighter around my birthday...

I actually think I am starting to obsess over it too much which is also probably not helping me. Going to find something to distract me from poring over these boards and the Idiot Proof Diet Cookbook which arrived from ebay yesterday!

HemanOrSheRa · 29/04/2015 12:00

Morning! I'm on day 22 and haven't lost weight for about a week. But I'm sleeping like a log, have loads of energy and like you, Drama and TheHappyCamper I'm really enjoying the food and not feeling hungry all the time. I often felt kind of at the mercy of my appetite/hunger and would feel the need to plan my days around food and when I could eat. I would feel bloody dreadful if I couldn't eat. That's completely gone. I love cooking and it's reawakened my interest in trying new recipes. The weight loss is almost secondary to how great I feel. Almost. I'm not a complete loon Grin.

I definitely feel slimmer. My second tummy, the one above my real tummy (just under my ribcage) Blush, has gone. That bit will now go inwards if I stand up straight! It used to sort of pop out Confused. My side profile is definitely slimmer.

DarkEvilMoon · 29/04/2015 13:17

food has been ok so far
breakfast: 3 eggs scrambled in butter
lunch: mince (mushroom, leek, mince, basil and a bit of tomato puree)
Drunk enough cups of coffee to have the shakes Hmm and no where near enough water. But there is time to resolve the water issue.

tomo and friday's food will be interesting as there will be builders in the kitchen so I am hoping to make a batch of those seed crackers tonight, and I am going to cook some sausages so that they can be grabbed easily. Ds has stuff that can be pinged in the microwave so it shouldn't been too much hassle to get him fed. Only issue is that I am out with ds until around 10pm tonight. Going to be a long one, but i guess that will put all the coffee to good use Hmm

DramaAlpaca · 29/04/2015 13:59

Heman same here about the tummy. I have regained my waist and now have a flat, smooth line from under my boobs down to my belly button, and there is definitely less of me side on.

I just went home for lunch - and didn't have any because I wasn't hungry Confused. I downed a pint of water and have brought back some feta, olives, a mini cucumber and a couple of slices of roast beef spread with philadelphia and rolled up. I'll nibble on those during the afternoon when I get peckish. Oh, I've also got a mini Babybel cheese. They are a blast from the past, I hadn't bought them since my DC were little. They were delighted to find them in the fridge again - and have eaten most of them!

BIWI · 29/04/2015 14:04

If you are currently in week 3 or 4 (sometimes even 5) it's very, very, very, VERY common to see little or no weight loss. Please don't be downhearted!

If you lost in weeks 1 and 2, then you know it works. Just keep on keeping on and it will be fine.

minibmw2010 · 29/04/2015 14:33

Ah thank you for that BIWI. This is the start of my 4th week so I'll keep that in mind.

nappyaddict · 29/04/2015 14:59

BIWI when you say week 3 do you mean for weightloss at the end of week 2/start of week 3 or end of week 3/start of week 4?

justonemorethread · 29/04/2015 15:06

argghhhh…. struggling today!
My children were snacking on beautiful soft fresh baked bread buns with melted dark chocolate. I had a sudden thought of 'Why should i be depriving myself of this? Surely I can just count my calories and occasionally allow myself a bread bun?'
Today I just cannot imagine never having a lovely warm bread with butter.

Once we reach goal weight and we are on maintenance is there an allowance for some carbohydrates?

Food was

B - 1 scrambled egg, butter, smoked salmon and dollop of cream cheese.

Snack - Beetrood salad with cream cheese

Lunch - Stir-fried Tofu and aubergines

Snack - half avocado with cream cheese, followed by thin beef-burger pattie with spoonful of cooked tin tomatoes. (I got home from REALLY hungry)

And I'm still feeling hungry and craving something sweet….. Am I just having a bad day? Maybe tiredness doesn't help?

HemanOrSheRa · 29/04/2015 15:10

Thanks BIWI. I feel so well at the moment with bags of energy. Do I have to do the two weeks Bootcamp Rules again to join in the Bootcamp starting on 11 May?! I have had a few squares of 90% choc (not all at once!), a 40g bag of walnuts and a bit more cheese but other than that I'm sticking to BC anyway.

The only thing that is getting me down is I haven't drunk anything except water, soda water, tea or coffee for 22 days. It's boring me now! I've tried making a strong fruit tea, letting it get cold and topping it up with soda but it was meh.

Dumdedumdedum · 29/04/2015 16:04

DarkEvilMoon I am sorry to hear about your pain - terrible when you forget when you took your tablets - I do that daily with my BP ones. Incipient Alzheimer's Lite. Glad you achieved something early morning.
I am curing last night with the hair of the dog. Clearly bloody stupid and not to be recommended. But have only eaten low carb all day!

nappyaddict · 29/04/2015 17:09

Anyone done IPD thai meatballs with peanut sauce using beef or lamb mince?

LexLoofah · 29/04/2015 17:57

hello all, still KO, weighed this morning as forgot last 2 days and down 2 more lb - slow and steady, that will do for me

B - courgettes and scr eggs in butter. DCs ate this too as with DH away no time to do separate breakfast, they had it with toast and they were fine. Also gave them courgetti last night, told them it was green pasta - they ate it up with ragu, was amazed. Coffee w cream & a cuppa
L - mackerel, cucumber, leaves, hm mayo, radish - sq dark choc (1.2g carbs if I have worked it out correctly, seems a bit low?)
D - will be pork & beef meatballs in hm tom sauce & ?? maybe more courgetti or a nice big bowl of shredded butter kale

TheHappyCamper · 29/04/2015 18:50

Reasonably good day today. Definitely reduced my dairy and had lots of veg with dinner. Plenty of fluids.

B: 2 bacon, 2 thin sausage, 2 eggs all fried
s: courgette muffin
L: bowl of creamy carrot & coriander soup (8g carbs in 300ml portion) with 2 coconut crackers & butter
D: HM chilli, cheese & cream with various green veg in garlic butter

I don't know how bad the soup was in the grand scheme of things, but I REALLY fancied something warm and C&C is my absolute favourite.

Well done to everyone who is KOKO without seeing results on the scales at present - I'm sure it will happen for us.

Romeyroo · 29/04/2015 18:52

Well, I am still stuck at the same weight, so I will be doing Uber in the first week of boot camp. When I was stuck before, I did find starting boot camp proper shifted things. I will give it a go when it starts and see what happens this time.

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 29/04/2015 18:59

Hello from me too, didnt realise there was a new thread!!

I'm still going, not perfectly atm but staying stable. 6 weeks now til my holiday. Luckily, my (admittedly fat size) shorts fit now, so any loss is a bonus Grin

BIWI · 29/04/2015 19:28

justonemorethread

B - 1 scrambled egg, butter, smoked salmon and dollop of cream cheese.

This sounds OK but might not be enough - why not two eggs?

Snack - Beetrood salad with cream cheese

Beetroot is very carby - and definitely best avoided! Why were you snacking? This would suggest that you didn't have enough breakfast, so I'd definitely say you should have a minimum of 2 eggs!

Lunch - Stir-fried Tofu and aubergines

How much fat was in this? And was it a big portion? Did you count the carbs in the tofu?

Snack - half avocado with cream cheese, followed by thin beef-burger pattie with spoonful of cooked tin tomatoes. (I got home from REALLY hungry)

Again, if you're hungry, then you've not been eating enough at mealtimes, and probably not eating enough fat

And I'm still feeling hungry and craving something sweet….. Am I just having a bad day? Maybe tiredness doesn't help?

Hunger isn't a good sign. This WOE isn't about depriving yourself. You need to eat more and make sure that you're eating plenty of fat. You also haven't said how much water you're drinking - which also helps stave off hunger. If you're tired, and not sleeping well, this will definitely not be helping you, I'm afraid.
