We filled up the last thread and we still have 3 weeks to go until the next official BC so here is our new inbetween BC thread.

Link to previous thread

So, I was good yesterday and now all of my confessions are lost on the previous thread Grin but I am going to carry on with daily weighing and food recording so this morning I weighed 225 lbs.

Sigh I do love them though, so no problem with stereotyping here (Proud Dane).

Aaaaanyway, I'm sorry for cluttering up the thread so much. It's pretty much impossible for me to write a short comment which is why I usually stay away from support threads.

TheHappyCamper · 28/04/2015 20:08

A good day chez Happy today. I haven't really felt the need for snacking and have felt full after my meals. Not enough veg and slightly too much dairy though, so will attempt to adjust tomorrow.

My LC chilli turned out quite well, although DH said there was something 'unusual' about it! He still ate it mind Grin. I have a 4 day weekend this weekend, as schools are shut Friday for the Tour de Yorkshire so I will endeavour to make a LCHF friendly eggs benedict and report back.

PS. I've had the avocados 4 days now and they are still like rock! I don't have any bananas in the house to put next to them. Could I put them in the garden in the sun maybe?

HolgerDanske · 28/04/2015 20:17

Tbh I usually don't buy avocados if they're rock hard as my experience is they're not likely to ripen very well. Is very frustrating when I don't find almost ripe or ripe ones for a week or two at a time, sometimes. But you already have them so you might as well give it a go and see. Next time you're at a supermarket I'd buy a ripe banana and one of those paper bags they use for mushrooms. Put them in the paper bag with the banana and store it in a dark place like a cupboard or something.

I once read about ripening them by warming them through in the oven on a,very low heat but I've never tried it. On the windowsill to catch the sunlight and heat might work, I guess. But as I said, they might not ever ripen... Good luck, though!

SayraT · 28/04/2015 21:12

Holger very good list for alternatives Smile That is pretty much what I do as well.

I didn't have a very good lunch, it was too low in fat so I was quite hungry this evening. Making up for it now!

Food Today

B: 2 rashers streaky bacon, fried egg, coffee with cream
L: Roast pepper soup
D: Lettuce with butter, pate and coleslaw (I had random things in the fridge that needed eaten.
S: FF yog and blueberries, 5 Brazil nuts, pork scratchings

E: 1 hour riding

I'm having a bad day anxiety wise and very very close to a cheat.
Couldn't face making dinner so hubby brought in fish and chips - I had a large haddock, peeled of batter with lots of hm mayo, melted butter, 2 pickled onions.
2 squares dark choc, handful almonds and a Dr pepper zero. Not great but not a disaster.

StuntNun · 28/04/2015 22:02

Dark and Just try not to be too hard on yourself. You are here, you are eating low carb, you are already doing it. Yes you may need to deal with the slip ups or accept a slower rate of weight loss. I am terrible for being seduced by carb stuff and half the time I don't even enjoy it. I had a McD's hamburger today because DS3 wouldn't eat it and it was actually quite unappetising. I wouldn't have eaten it if I hadn't been starving. Just got to haul my lardy arse back on the low carb wagon and keep on keeping on.

Holger your sides sound delicious and so much more creative than I come up with. I think I am stuck in a bit of a rut at the moment and not enjoying food very much. I love eating low carb but dropping dairy and eggs has made it quite tedious.

DarkEvilMoon · 28/04/2015 22:12

Can i stab the person making the whole house stink of toast with a blunt spoon?

Gcalgske · 28/04/2015 22:14

Dark, reminds me of Alan Rickman in Robinhood Prince of thieves. Lol.
You are allowed to stab anyone tempting you with toast.

Gcalgske · 28/04/2015 22:15

My favourite salad.
uktv.co.uk/food/recipe/aid/598977
Swap cashews for another less carby nut. Delicious

BIWI · 28/04/2015 22:33

Holger please don't not join in because you think your posts are too long!

lisbapalea · 28/04/2015 22:40

Can someone tell me if this was an ok day:

B - dollop of total yog with sprinkling of dessicated coconut. Coffee with milk.
L - Nandos 1/4 chicken, green salad, some coleslaw (not the full portion, prob about half), olives
S - coffee with milk and handful of almonds
D - grilled rib eye steak, steamed broccoli, half a grilled tomato, large mushroom baked with loads of garlic butter, spare garlic butter poured on the broccoli
S - square of 85% choc
Loads of water.

Feel full and very satisfied which makes me feel like I am eating too much!

nappyaddict · 28/04/2015 22:55

BIWI i see lots of people eating yoghurt for breakfast but what sort of portion is ok? i would normally eat about 200g but that's 6.4g carbs which I think is too much? But then I don't think less would fill me up Blush

Gcalgske · 28/04/2015 23:18

Nappy I normally have 100g made up of 30g cream/70g yoghurt with flax for added fibre. Guess it depends on yours personal tolerance. Maybe increasing the fat would help? Coconut oil would work or scale back by 25g a day in the run up to BC proper, see what your appetite is like?

DarkEvilMoon · 28/04/2015 23:37

Grin gcalgske I decided that i couldn't face clearing up blood splatter so opened a window instead.

LexLoofah · 29/04/2015 02:55

gcal that salad looks yummy, sorry to hear you had a bad day, sounds like dark cheered you up though

DH brought home a big bag of local mangoes as it is the start of the season here and we always get given loads by lucky people who have a mango tree in their garden. Will be v hard to resist as so fragrant, the ones in the shop are not a patch on these. I know they are super carby though so will content myself with just sniffing them. Lucky DCs going to have them all.

DH now away for his Dad's funeral so sat here with an oatmeal and honey face mask on, figured if it can't eat them I may as well wear them!

DarkEvilMoon · 29/04/2015 03:21

And for the 3am motivational slot we have:

Keep on keeping on, happy inbetween bootcamping. Congratulations to all who are pregnant, losing weight or just sticking to plan.

Inbetween BCs Thread #2
Dumdedumdedum · 29/04/2015 06:32

Morning, all! Are you all right, DarkEvilMoon (I mean that in the nicest possible way)? I wish I'd seen your message last night whilst I was sitting guzzling Champagne after a meal out where I ate and drank far too much as I would be feeling a lot better now.
So yesterday was a complete write-off but because of booze, not food - we sent the lovely hot from the oven bread away from our table not once but twice, and I had spinach in cream instead of potatoes with my meal. I did have a small taste of the husbad's chocolate fondant but that was it. But oh, dear, I drank too much - and then to wake up with a banging head to the big news we all knew anyway, that there are loads of calories in alcohol Sad[shocked]
I hope that is a lesson learned, but knowing me, I'm not so sure. On the other hand, if I can manage to resist bread and potatoes whilst eating out (no mean feat for me), I should be able to do the same with wine if I set my mind to it.
Have a great day, everyone, and just KOKOGrin

minibmw2010 · 29/04/2015 07:01

Think I had a little whoosh overnight ?? I remember what someone else said about being cold when it happens to them and I was freezing in bed last night and went from 12.9 and 3/4 to 12.7. So not a huge whoosh but still Smile So now I'm 8lbs off in 3 weeks.

nappyaddict · 29/04/2015 07:30

So Monday I woke up around 7.30 and was 10 stone 4. At 10.30 whilst getting dressed I weighed again and was 10 stone 3.

That day I ate

A jar of pickled shallots. 2 slices of cheese. Leftover homemade Thai curry from Saturday. 2 eggs in mayo. slice of ham. I drank 3 litres of water.

on going to bed I was 10 stone 7.

When I woke up yesterday I was 10 stone 5 Sad

I had coffee with cream, 3 eggs in mayo and salad, chicken and skin and salad and the faux pizza express dressing Gcalgske mentioned, yoghurt with double cream mixed in. I had 3 litres of water.

On going to bed I was 10 stone 8.

Just weighed and I am 10 stone 6. How have I managed to put 3lb on since Monday?

minibmw2010 · 29/04/2015 07:32

Why would you weigh yourself in the evening? You've got all that days food and drink in you ??!? Smile once a day but morning maybe?

SayraT · 29/04/2015 07:43

You haven't nappy either don't weigh at all or just once a week. Some people manage daily weighing but if you get concerned about natural daily fluctuations then I suggest you don't weigh.

This week I've been 225, 221, 222 lbs. I either take the average for the week or the lowest daily weight, whichever is lighter Grin as my weekly weight.

OP posts:
nappyaddict · 29/04/2015 07:44

So I can see what my natural fluctuations are :) I seem to either STS or put on up to 3-4lb in the day, then lose 2lb overnight.

DarkEvilMoon · 29/04/2015 08:05

Honestly Dumdedum? Struggling. Have a lot on my mind and sleep is the first thing to go not helped by a fibro flare up yesterday which made it feel like someone was trying to put hot pokers into my hips. In itself not unusual but I couldn't remember when i took pain killers so had to wait until i knew i was 4hrs clear if i had. Blush I need to get back in the habit of writing the time of each dose on my hand. My memory is shocking at the best of times. But have now written a letter to school I was dreading and going to get the camhs appointment changed. Which should help :)

Hope you feel better and recover from your night out quickly Grin

CrabbyTheCrabster · 29/04/2015 08:54

lisbapalea if you're doing bootcamp light then yesterday's menu looks fine. Go easy on the sneaky carbs in things like coleslaw, chocolate, coconut, milk and nuts - they can all add up over the day. Smile

plumstone · 29/04/2015 08:56

Good Morning, I have lurked on this thread for ages, and asked some questions re cream and yogurt and would just like to thank each of you for the tips and ideas re LC-ing. Last Wedensday I was 12st. 5lbs, which was 5 down from Jan 20 but still a along way off from where I wanted to be. Have followed this religiously (apart from 125ml wine three nights a week - slowly reducing, but I don't like chocolate so its my treat!! Grin and today 12 st exactly - loving this and it is the kick start to get me on the right track for BC starting on the 11th - cannot wait! Flowers for all thanks xoxo
