Meant to say DS2 does not have Scarlet Fever. It's just a virus and the red marks all over his tongue are from where he is teething so badly he is biting his tongue - poor dumpling.

Despite being knackered and up 1-4am with ds1, i dragged him up and took him swimming this morning (i have put together a schedule with an activity a day for us and had booked ds2 in the creche). I must say i felt pretty good in my cossie - altho it's shit and i need a new one - i looked quite trim.

DH has a book signing thing at a conference and i have this dress to wear. But i have no shoes. Since having dc i just can't wear any of my high heels for any length of time or to stand in. I need a non frumpy mid heel i think - is there such a thing?

Any shoe (or new cossie) suggestions welcome. :)

readyforno2 · 19/03/2015 15:20

Thanks everyone. We're away to Aberdeen this weekend to continue the celebrations. Just dh and I, no dc so really looking forward to it.

Mrsk, when I was at the personal shopper she told me that if you only had one pair of shoes it should be nude ones.. According to her, if you wear nude shoes, nobody looks at your feet. I've been looking at these
www.clarks.co.uk/p/20357723 they have a cushioned bit right at the ball of your foot so pretty comfy. Maybe a bit higher than you were hoping for though. Good luck

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 19/03/2015 15:26

I made lc coleslaw today, it is gorgeous :) i

I went with - a small carrot, half a cabbage, 2 shallots and a broccoli stalk, blended it all (cant grate!) then mixed in 4tbsp of my hm mayo, a splosh of lemon and a splosh of white wine vinegar.

Bit more tattoo done yesterday, so a shit nights sleep as i sleep on my front Grin oh and my dh has some sort of bug, spewing and pooing. Not nice. Or...Possibly related to his snip? Apparently it can do that?

OK sass give it your best shot, what will you woo the whoosh fairy with?
Smile in fact I have no idea what a fairy might like other than a little house inside a toadstool or something.

sassandfaff · 19/03/2015 15:43

I live in the north west of england- god's little acre. It's practically the culture capital of the WORLD.......

(Remembers driving home from my Nan's house and having to swerve to avoid the grand piano in the middle of the road)

we have pies

imustbepatient · 19/03/2015 16:07

Love the dress MrsK!

How about something like this for the shoe:

black option

I'm rubbish with links so hopefully that works!

imustbepatient · 19/03/2015 16:11

Woohoo my link worked. In celebration, here's another one.

different black option

imustbepatient · 19/03/2015 16:15

This one is a bit higher and pale gold, but in a neutral but with sparkle kind of way.

pale gold

ahem, I should probably get on with some chores now. Shopping is much more fun though, even vicariously.

sassandfaff · 19/03/2015 16:16

I like these mrsk
Shoes

MrsKoala · 19/03/2015 16:20

Thanks imustbe. I actually like the first ones in nude. but not for this dress tho, just for something else. don't know what. I like the last ones too, but they may be uncomfortable for all day wear.

I like those nude shoes ready, but i feel i may look as tho i'm channeling Kate Middleton a bit too much.

LexLoofah · 19/03/2015 16:31

sass how about that I am from NW originally (Wigan) Great piano story sounds like a Laurel & Hardy film I watched once.

Let's hope there is more than one fairy and we both get a visit

sassandfaff · 19/03/2015 16:36

We may have gone to the same school then lex !

Wink
sassandfaff · 19/03/2015 16:37

The piano was belle green lane.

Enough said......

Gcalgske · 19/03/2015 16:48

Trash there are instructions here
neilatkin.com/2015/03/05/advice-on-watching-the-eclipse-for-students-and-schools/

A friend made them with her class of 9 year olds. My hubs got us some specs yesterday so I don't have to bother now.

Gcalgske · 19/03/2015 16:56

What about irregular choice? I love their low heel height shoes that are a bit quirky. www.irregularchoice.com/shop/xhr-list/product/5933/daisy-dayz.html

Amaxapax · 19/03/2015 17:12

MrsK, they have those Clarks shoes in black. One of my colleagues swears by them.

sassandfaff · 19/03/2015 17:13

Argh. Oven just fizzed bright orange sparks. Freaked out. Ran from kitchen turning it off as I went past and now it's dead.

Frightened the life out of me. Arms and legs like jelly.

Bourbon and diet Pepsi been poured.

How do I cook now?!!!

sassandfaff · 19/03/2015 17:15

Can you cook salmon in a microwave?!

LexLoofah · 19/03/2015 17:22

sass yes and apparently you can cook it in the dishwasher although I have not tried it

www.telegraph.co.uk/foodanddrink/recipes/7779050/Salmon-is-party-perfect-if-you-serve-it-whole.html

sassandfaff · 19/03/2015 17:24

Thanks lex how weird about the dishwasher!

Who finds out these things? The mind boggles.

MrsKoala · 19/03/2015 17:32

Gcal, thanks i have a few IC shoes and i find them quite uncomfortable. Oddly enough the lower the shoe the worse it is. I love those ones you linkes but kitten heels + my sturdy legs look like i started off with high stilettos and the heels have either snapped of or sunk into the ground under the heft of my gargantuan calves. Like halter necks, i just have to admire them on other people.

Amax, i think i may buy them, not necessarily for this 'do' but they look like a pretty easy 'go to' shoe for dressy occasions. Which i don't have. Altho i don't really go to dressy occasions i would like to start!

Oh oh oh I know, shall we have a BC meetup? Anyone near London/Kent?

MrsKoala · 19/03/2015 17:35

Oh and yes i poached ds1 a fillet of salmon in the micro tonight (do it all the time). put in a bowl with a nob of butter and a splash of cream/water, salt and pepper. put a lid on and micro on full for a 1-2 mins depending on size.

trashcanjunkie · 19/03/2015 18:56

Some one has a clutch of specs they're giving me! Woo hoo, been all over again trying to find some unsuccessfully, and good ol fb has saved the day. Although another friend has a little indie cinema and they have tons of Mylar film kicking about in there. That's the stuff the specs are made of, so we're going to get some and cut it into squares and make a fortune selling them (not really)

Had leeks fried in garlic with Philadelphia and fried chicken boobies for dinner.

LexLoofah · 19/03/2015 19:12

I had my IUD replaced yesterday and had to lie down at the Drs for a while after and was offered juice, biscuits or sweets as apparently it can make some patients faint - something about the vagus nerve or something?

Anyway I was fine and refused all sugar but it made me wonder about giving blood as they do the same thing, as I recall orange squash and a custard cream were the order of the day. I can't give blood here (damned WHO rules and their suspicion people from the UK might have mad cow disease) but intend to start giving again once we move back, if they will have me, anyone done this on LC and been fine without dipping into the Jacobs special selection tin?

BitchyDoesWitchyThings · 19/03/2015 19:21

MrsK massive congratulations on the weight loss, and so glad that it turned out not to be scarlet fever in the end. Poor mite though.

Today has been shocking full stop. Feeling low after an accidental encounter with the mirror. ds being up until 4 am and then up again at 7am. I need to find energy enough to do some toning type exercise. No idea how or where from.
