Morning all my lovely campers!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

and don't forget the Weight Tracker if you prefer to keep things private.

Hopefully the dreaded weeks 3 and 4 are well behind us, and we can now get on with the process of shedding more fat Grin

Here's to another good week, and I hope that the scales were kind to you this morning

3 pounds off for me so I am back to where I was after the first week. I'm delighted about this loss after gaining or STS for the last few weeks. I was feeling pretty despondent so can identify with what you are saying amax and nightsky.

I don't know if this made the difference but I made a real effort to keep up the water intake over the weekend (even drinking water in between G&Ts on SAturday night Grin). I have found that it's easy to drink my water during the week when I'm at my desk and life is a bit more regulated but I could totally forget to drink enough water at the weekends.

I'm determined to have a very strict week and, as suggested by Sayra (thank you) I will cut down on the cream in my coffee and up the vegetable intake and variety.

I cant seem to post on the spreadsheet (even from my laptop) so could someone please enter my weight this week at 150? Thank you!

oh, and could someone please give me some pointers on how to make the "green smoothie" that a few people have mentioned?

are they truly disgusting or drinkable?

Down 3lbs but have a vommiting bug so I've broken out the oat cakes because I just can't face any of the low carb food I've in.

On the plus side I'm getting through plenty of water!

I'm on holiday for my birthday (bit of sunshine) so no weighing for me. Food is straightforward but the wine.....
I shall just suck it up literally and über camp on my return.

Okay. I will cut the portion sizes right down. I have been trying really hard to eat when hungry and then eat to satiety, avoiding snacks and any treats. I was hoping I'd be able to repair my really crap relationship with food by doing it that way, but obviously I'm doing something wrong.

Amaxapax (this is just my tuppence worth - please disregard it entirely if you like!).

Perhaps just try one thing first, rather than all at once?

That way it won't feel so hard to do, plus (a bit like an elimination diet) you can work out what is actually causing the problem. If it turns out to be a combination of a few things then you will work that out eventually. It will take a bit longer that way perhaps (i.e. if the problem isn't the first thing you try) but to understand your body's triggers is such a crucial thing to learn for weight loss and maintenance, so you might be able to steel yourself to do it on that basis.

Also, it could still be that your body is just taking longer than some other people's to adapt to this WOE. You may be due a whoosh which will come along any day now. Someone (can't remember who sorry) in a post a few weeks ago mentioned that in a previous BC they didn't lose anything until week 7 or 8 but then it started coming off in nice regular chunks.

You are already drinking lots of water, so how about this week just cutting out all dairy entirely? If that doesn't make a difference then next week you can look at portion sizes.

I'm in a stall / slight increase stage at the moment too, despite sticking to BC during the week and BCL at weekends. In fact the only BCL thing I have added is less than 2 glasses of wine for each of the last two weekends and a few nuts on about 3 occasions. I haven't even given in to the 85% choc I have in the cupboard! So I really feel your frustration at not losing. I'm just going to focus on the water this week and cutting out dairy. Fingers crossed this works.

You will get there! 'Tweaking' is a more positive way of thinking about this....

Losing weight isn't easy. If it was we wouldn't be here Grin but with dogged determination and support, we can succeed.

On my first bc I put on half a stone in the first half, before losing it and a bit more in the second half, but I kept on and although I have been a bit of a prat the last two weeks, over the last year I've lost two stones, and I think I was still over eating quite a lot.

It's only since I've worked on that I am seeing consistent loss. And I'm still practicing getting the portion sizes right. Like today at lunchtime, I said I was going to have three chipolatas and a courgette (well, actually 2/3 of a small courgette since we're being exact) Now, I finished that meal, and actually at the end I didn't feel full. That is different to feeling hungry imo. So the answer at that point, is, go away from the kitchen, drink a half litre of water and wait ten minutes. If I'm still hungry, then yes it's genuine. However, that hasn't happened. I'm comfortably full. Sated. It's a habit of expectation. I think I need x amount, and in fact, I am happily surviving on almost half, and the only struggle is that my mouth wants more to chew, not my belly needing more in it iyswim?

Try not to give yourself a hard time. It's like learning to drive. You think you're getting nowhere and then suddenly you'll be driving to Glastonbury in your first clapped out Ford Fiesta!

morning all

STS which is a bit disappointing as still on BC i.e. not gone on to lite except a bit of choc and nuts in truffles on Sat and the nut/honey cupcake yesterday. my first choc in 4 weeks, unbelievable.

Added dairy back this week but tried not to have it every day and am not snacking as not hungry. Think I am drinking enough fluids as in a hot climate so use to drinking lots of water anyway and I estimate I have at least doubled what I used to have.

Is it time for ubercamp? I have had a look at the menu on the spreadsheet, are the rules to keep under 20g per day and no dairy at all? I suppose I could do 3 days without a cup of tea if that is what it takes.

I want to stay on this woe anyway as makes so much sense for so many other reasons but I am really putting an effort into planning and cooking meals so would like to see some reward on the scales/tape measure/clothes.

Just been to the Physio and my back is very bad. Needing a lot of work. Also my knees are a contributing factor, which means weight isn't helping. I need to lose more weight to help with the pain. I think i may do tue-thur ubercamp every week and see how that goes. i am going to start weaning DS2 off the boob as well i think. Drat!

MrsK,
Ive just stopped feeding youngest DS. Im clinging on to the fact that my body may have been retaining some weight to help feed him. I have really struggled to loose weight while breastfeeding any of mine as Ive been SOOOO hungry. I also definitely have a plumpness around my chest upper arms which looks like its feeding related.
However I am now neither pregnant or breasfeeding for the first time in 6.5 years.... I think I may have a bit of a hormonal shift coming my way...

Just checking in - can't keep up with the threads! I did not weigh last week due to major unscheduled carby twatting - least said soonest mended Blush. Climbed straight back on though and this morning I was back to just under my weight before the slip up so happy with that.

Bitchy, I hope that you feel better soon - or at least get a lie down - I get migraines and they are awful, and even worse, if you are unwell too Flowers.

I am going to Ubercamp as well I think for three days - there is no cheese in the house and it is the only diary I have, being really allergic to actual milk. Interesting points about leaving things for 10 minutes and see if you are still hungry. I am also trying to up my water.

So, I have just been to Holland and Barratt and bought some chia and flaxseed mix - I don't understand though, as one brand said it had 1.3g carbs per 100g and the other said 20g per 100g. The 1.3g one was super expensive (by which I mean £10 more than the 20g per 100g one). I bought the expensive one, please tell me that it was worth it, it seems an awful lot of money given that I am not particularly well off at the moment. I also bought cocoa nibs, which have lots of fibre too, but these are 15g per 100g, so for a very occasional treat in very small doses.

Hi everybody!
Another unsuccessful week....Sad Sad
I have put on 300gr despite to avoid breakfast and have had only two meals a day and no snack. This is absolute ridiculous...!
! I do understand you AMAXAPAX, this is my 5th week and I feel very disappointed and angry and sad. So I can feel your pain like my own.
I am going to stop today and have a piece of cake and a white coffee. Maybe if I refill with some carbs and carry on tomorrow something may happen. I don't know its just a thought Sad
I don't like to cheat and this is going to be the first time in bc but I can think of anything else (sob sob)

Many thanks to those who have offered supportive words and suggestions. Flowers

So far, I am dairy free today. I am trying very, very hard to listen to my body to determine if I am hungry and to eat only as much as I need. I have also done the 30 Day Shred with minimal swearing at good ol' Jillian.

Ha well, my three chipolatas and half a courgette was definitely not enough lunch. I had a bag of pork scratchings at about two o clock, and I've just had some cottage cheese and a hotdog sausage. We're having the pork carnitas in two hours, but I will be very mindful about how much I eat. Fluids I've just started my third ltr of water and am currently on third cup of tea, although this one's not massive.

I did have a revelation though.... I can always eat more, but I can't uneat.... Grin so that's been today's breakthrough.

B - 2 sc eggs with butter, avo but was too much should have had half - didn't finish, cuppa
L - salmon fillet, romaine, cucumber, fennel, celery, radish, sour cream
D - will be beef and pork ragu layered with leftover celeriac dauphinoise to make a sort of lasagne topped with cream and cheese. lots of veg in the ragu, poss too much will have a smaller portion that usual.

Uber will have to start in a few days time as already got next few days meals prepped.

trash interested in what you said about garlic, will try to cut down on that, am used to throwing loads in so need to pare recipes down to bare minimum and perhaps just do meat and veg rather than a dish so there is nothing hidden and the carbs don't add up. Also realized I have probably had too many dishes with tomatoes in even if it was the lowest carb tin I could find.

natural happy b day!
