Morning all my lovely campers!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

and don't forget the Weight Tracker if you prefer to keep things private.

Hopefully the dreaded weeks 3 and 4 are well behind us, and we can now get on with the process of shedding more fat Grin

Here's to another good week, and I hope that the scales were kind to you this morning

Bah, I thought the 'pudding' was too good to be true. It's amazind the number you can do on yourself.... "the berries are lc, the cram is lc, the choc is lc, the mascarpone....?" ah you get the picture.

Today I am still delicate of gut, had cup of tea for breakfast, then dp and I did a mercy mission to paint mothers bathroom walls and woodwork.

Came home and ate bratwurst and and scrambled egg, with a couple of mushrooms.

Lolling on sofa with family now.

Oh, and I got a knock back letter from one of the uni's I applied to....

That's poop trash hugs.
sass peppermint tea or chicken broth were the only two things I could stomach with my virus.

Mrsstevejones · 21/02/2015 17:56

Just made oxtail stew for dinner, it was lovely and i served it with roasted swede - is there a way of making it more potato like and less soft? I steamed it for 20 mins and roasted at 200 degrees in lard for about 40 mins.

I was inspired by someones dinner of chinese five spice pork belly so i had a bash, i think i overcooked it as its like hard bacon and very brown but had a lovely flavour, so thats breakfast or lunch sorted. I will need my good teeth in however.

Tonight i am mostly fighting the urge for a vodka and the small bar of dark choc i had somehow forgotten about - shock!

BIWI · 21/02/2015 18:21

I sometimes roast it without steaming/parboiling, it goes charred at the edges, but nothing goes as crispy as potato!

I wondered about deep frying, whether or not that would make it crispy on the outside and stop it going so soft?

Roast chicken and roast veg for dinner tonight. Not quite sure what veg to do, but will be a combo of whatever comes to hand from the fridge!

sass re: weight loss from tummy bug, saw my neighbour this morning, he had a nasty bug this week, so bad he needed IV fluids, and has lost 14lbs!

Kept my distance though as not that desperate to lose weight, yet

CharlieSierra · 21/02/2015 18:47

Have been feeling crap, made a lovely restorative spicy broth for lunch with chicken stock, a little spring onion and garlic, soy sauce, ginger, coconut oil, loads of chilli and some slices of cooked chicken thighs - it was delicious. Dinner is pan fried salmon with asparagus and broccoli smothered in hollandaise.

Gcalgske · 21/02/2015 19:09

Tonight I was being cooked for. Traditional Thai fish cakes - (pounded cod with red Thai curry paste and snake beans then fried) there was some Palm sugar in the Thai curry paste but a tiny amount was used and they were very yum (and I didn't want to be rude as they had made such an effort) I will try to do my own low carb version because they would be perfect as no starch is added. Main was a saintly and delicious chicken stir fry with green beans, peppers, chilli, garlic, tamari and a side of bean sprouts wilted in a dark chicken stock with chilli oil and tamari (tasted / texture very very like noodles) ??

sassandfaff · 21/02/2015 19:10

Yikes lex

I'm not that desperate either. Poor him.

Well, I've managed half a chicken breast today, but it resulted in another toilet dash, so I am officially nil by mouth.

I've done really rubbish on the liquid front too, but don't feel too dehydrated. I just can't keep anything in/down. TMI! Sorry.

I'm not dressed either, which never happens. And dp has gone out. Can't really complain though as I think he last went out 4- 6 months ago.

Going to read a book when the kids go to bed in 20mins.

Gcalgske · 21/02/2015 19:13

Deep frying swede is great but still not the same as potato.
Your broth sounds great charlie just the thing to pep you up.

Gcalgske · 21/02/2015 19:20

Oh sass that's awful. Luckily my tummy bug only seemed a 24 hour thing but I lost a stone in fluids (which I have regained). Hope you feel better soon. If you really can't face drinking you could chew on some ice? X

lurkingmurking · 21/02/2015 19:59

Oh sass you poor thing - hope you get a good sleep tonight.

Good day here. Feeling hungry but stuck to it

B: Bacon, sausages, 2 eggs, BPC
L: Chicken slices, avocado, coleslaw, black olives
D: Lamb chops, celeriac chips, bit of mayo. Whipped cream with raspberries
E: Circuits class and swimming

trashcanjunkie · 21/02/2015 20:03

Thanks guys. I know it's pointless but can't help feeling the sting of rejection.

Going to have early night with bowl of chicken soup and a book, and tomorrow will craft email asking for feedback so I can nail the April application for my preferred course Grin

Had a mental standoff with self over ice-cream Hmm

I won. Grin

BIWI · 21/02/2015 20:31

My host made low carb ice cream. I have had a small portion. Will forgo the Wine to offset somewhat.

Gcalgske · 21/02/2015 20:42

hangs head in shame
Although in my defence it's just cream, full fat yoghurt, unsweetened almond milk, truvia, lime and a bit of gin. Blooming delicious.

nowitsenough · 21/02/2015 20:45

Sorry to hear that Trash Sad Sass hope you feel better soon.

Today I had bacon, eggs and fried left over swede for brunch and slow roast pork shoulder joint with crackling with buttered broccoli and sprouts, 3 decaf coffees with a dash of cream. Not enough water though.

CharlieSierra · 21/02/2015 20:47

Gcalgske do you know the recipe? I tried it once but it didn't work out, I figured that sugar was integral to the structure somehow and haven't bothered since. It would be nice to have a good recipe for an occasional treat.

Gcalgske · 21/02/2015 20:54

charlie it's the Mary Berry no churn lemon yoghurt ice cream. Although she made it in an ice cream maker (so did churn it)

CharlieSierra · 21/02/2015 21:42

Thanks Gcalgske, I just looked that up and the recipe calls for caster sugar, so presumably it worked fine with Splenda or whatever?

Gcalgske · 21/02/2015 23:33

Yip she used truvia (erythritol / stevia blend) and almond milk.
She's a good cook and put in the gin to stop large crystals forming, apparently helps with the texture (and tastes good too) with lots of lime juice and zest. It did have a bit of a greasy mouth feel, difficult to explain but similar to any low carb ice treat I've had (including in the states where such things are easy to get) but was lovely. She gave me some home in a Tupperware. I might try adding a swirl of puréed strawberry or raspberry at some point.

BitchyDoesWitchyThings · 22/02/2015 00:00

Hi I'm bitchy, and tonight I ate an entire 300ml tub of whipped whipping cream. And I am not even feeling remorseful. Just full yet strangely empty in my tum cos it sorta ended up being tea. It is a very odd feeling.

Fatstacks · 22/02/2015 00:36

Flowers For you poorly ones and a Brew for Trash their loss eh chuck?

Bitchy I will take your cream and raise you Rhuby cheese!
Yes.

The delight that is rhubarb cheese was being given out freely at the Wakefield Rhubard extravaganza Smile
I made at least 6 passes of each stall and sampled the cheese along with rhubarb pork pie, rhubarb chilli, rhubarb beer 4 different kinds of rhubarb vodka and rhubarb pork scratchings Grin luckily the drunk morris dancing I decided to join in with distracted me from the cakes and fudge.
Poor DP was Shock

BitchyDoesWitchyThings · 22/02/2015 00:49

Fatstacks that sounds like fun Grin A hell of a lot of Rhubarb but fun.
