Morning all my lovely campers!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

and don't forget the Weight Tracker if you prefer to keep things private.

Hopefully the dreaded weeks 3 and 4 are well behind us, and we can now get on with the process of shedding more fat Grin

Here's to another good week, and I hope that the scales were kind to you this morning

Thanks Stuntnun that has cheered me up. It makes me think I can do this long term then. I have bootcamped successfully 4 times now but then fallen of wagon and going to try super hard for that not to happen this time.

nowitsenough · 20/02/2015 20:41

Today I had bacon and fried eggs for breakfast, chicken breast with salad and mayo for lunch and chilli with mashed swede for dinner and this afternoon a small of a small piece of cheddar with mayo. Also had 3 decaf coffee with cream.

Forgot to mention that last night I also had a very small Southern Comfort on ice when out.

No plans this weekend so far, I just hope I can stay away from carbs.

Have a good weekend everyone Smile

Hi, I'm new on here but have been low carbing for about three weeks. I think I've lost 7lbs but that was in the first two weeks. I'm getting on ok but need a little help, I don't eat meat but have recently started to eat some fish, the problem being that my fish consumption is creeping up to several time a week and I'm not sure if that's ok. It's hard to know what else to eat when there's no pasta to fall back on. I'm not sure how much cheese is allowed? Is sugar free jelly ok?

Also can someone tell me what BPC stands for please?

It is really lovely that there is so much support on here.

Gcalgske · 20/02/2015 21:44

Dinner was home made Aberdeen angus burgers (recipe is just 500g minced beef, tbsp jarred mayo, sprinkle cumin and smoked paprika, s&p), pressed into 4 burgers and fried. Served with mashed avocado and smoked bacon stirred into mayonnaise, with gherkins, tomato and shallot drizzled with olive oil inside little gem lettuce leaves as a 'bun'. I probably only needed one but had one and a bit (sharing with dd, although I didn't eat and of her chips) Although she did stick a chip in my ear if that counts as injesting...

ijustwanttobeme · 20/02/2015 21:54

Evening all.

Not my best day.

B: nothing
L: chicken tikka and salad
D: grilled tuna steak, with avocado, tomato, cucumber and red onion. Plus loads of leafy salad

Struggled at work today and ended up having a latte, a flat white and a chocolate chip cookie. Also a bit PMTish, which isn't helping.

Came home and did 45mins on the spinning bike.

17% carbs total carbs intake.

I'm not losing lbs and lbs, but my clothes are definitely looser.

Hi everyone, hope those who have been having a rough time or are sick are doing ok Flowers

Gcalske and LexLoofah (hope names are right, can't scroll as on phone), thanks for comments about coconut and almond flour. DS seems to have the hyper/inpulsive part of ADHD and less obviously the AD, but with a low GI/no sugar diet, he is much calmer and has come on amazingly with concentration and learning. Even the smallest bits of sugar set him off; ditto White baked goods (my phone insists on capitalising that), white pasta and noodles etc.
fortunately his nursery are excellent with meals, everything is cooked on site and it is whole grain, cooked from scratch etc. But I have also found he has stopped asking for sweet things if we are out too. He's eaten one more bit of the cake, which is fine.

So, long answer to say not sure about the effect of honey as not tried it and never heard of coconut sugar. I do have almond flour and I share your concerns about soya. It was the first time we had baked since Christmas (aside from a pizza also with soya flour), so for DS, I am not too worried, but open to alternatives. So yes, a couple of recipes with almond flour would be good, if you have time Lex

Gcalgske · 20/02/2015 21:55

Hello howly BPC is bullet proof coffee - it's coffee with coconut oil (or mct oil) and butter blended in to make it thick and creamy like a latte. It's a good way to up your fat intake. I'm new to the group too (last week) but been off and on low carb for years. I've found everyone to be really welcoming.Flowers
The boot camp rules are in the spreadsheet (link pinned at the top) the boot camp is strict so no sugar free jelly. Fish is good but you need to make sure you are having enough fat to stay full and nourished. X

Romeyroo · 20/02/2015 22:03

In terms of food, did not manage dinner yesterday, as it was too late and I CBA cooking. I also remembered pisses, I think, saying that eating late means the food just sits in your gut

So, I decided to consciously front load my food for a couple of days and see how what happens

B- 3 egg omelette with spinach
L- roast chicken thigh with skin on, garden salad from M&S and Mayo
D - did not cook, had cucumber sticks, Parma ham and cheese

Lots and lots of water.

Notso · 20/02/2015 22:06

Thanks all for the take away advice. I went for the tandoori mixed grill. It was lovely but next time I'm doing some cauliflower to go with it. I had a teeny bit of poppadom when I was clearing up but swiftly put the rest in the bin.

trashcanjunkie · 20/02/2015 22:16

Evening all. Having a snifter of rum here.
Watching sewing b on iplayer so just a quick sms here

B two eggs in cup, butter

L smokey sausage, chilli salmon from m n s food with a couple of mouth fulls of utterly repugnant guac

D home made chilli beef burger, cauliflower mash and coleslaw

And then this pudding, which I think is ok but am totally prepared to here otherwise

Large spoon full of mascarpone, large spoonful of double thick cream, three strawbs, five rasps and about a tbs of blueberries, with two squares of 90% choc melted over fruit. Drizzled over, a tsp of vanilla essence and a drop of orange oil.

Verdict BIWI

trashcanjunkie · 20/02/2015 22:17

Hear not here...... Argh the shame!

trashcanjunkie · 20/02/2015 22:19

Eeh, also, thank you to everyone who said nice things about my feeling poorly xxx

Gcalgske · 21/02/2015 00:12

Random but does anyone use a spiraliser? My old faithful Amazon cheepo is just about done in and I want to try celeriac spaghetti. Reccomendations?

Grah0SoontobeaFatty · 21/02/2015 00:23

BerylStreep Ninja-ing BPC question

Yes, add boiling water, put blade on, blend 5-8 seconds, take blade off - If you take to long with blend and loosening the lid the pressure builds up. So take care and be quick - hot frothy coffee burns.

I found the lid gets really tight at about 20 seconds. So no need to try to be super fast just quick.

BerylStreep · 21/02/2015 00:35

thanks Grah will try it over the next couple of days.

LexLoofah · 21/02/2015 01:26

www.marksdailyapple.com/celeriac-noodles-with-parsley-pesto/
gcal I don't have a spiralizer, would love one though, made celeriac noodles last week with a sharp knife from the recipe in above link, worked quite well

Tough day here as DS still sick and didn't feel 100% this morning so just had a cuppa then mid morning a few spoons of Greek yog and another cuppa.

Got my act toget her by lunch and did hm chicken stock, leeks, ginger, broccoli, shiritaki noodle soup.

Did the lamb shish kebab from the recipe thread for fakeaway dinner, served on romaine lettuce with hm garlic aoli, roasted courgeetes and aubergines and yogurt cucumber sauce, absolutely delicious and so easy too. DH said it was like the Real thing but better. The scales might not have moved much yet but at least we are eating like kings and trying new recipes

sassandfaff · 21/02/2015 08:54

Moan alert.

Feeling really rubbish. And sorry for myself. Got horrible food poisoning from our tapas last night. Just myself and dp. Kids are fine, which suggests it was either the aubergines, or mushrooms. As they ate everything else.

Also, already suffering from my 2 nd worse bout of uterus infection. Long story short, I get VB all the time. I don't even bother the doc's anymore with it. I leave it for ages because I literally only go a few days after anti biotics before I get it back again.

I had such a good stretch since starting this woe that I thought I'd cracked it with the low sugar/starch etc. But no, its back with a vengeance.

Luckily, unlike the 1st time I got it and dp wanted to call an ambulance, I know what the symptoms are and I have got treatment at the start of it.

I have IBS, rhinitis, dodgy back and hips and I can honestly say this is the bain of my life. Sad

ChesterDrawers · 21/02/2015 09:43

Sorry you're joining us in the sick bay Saff, I think week 6 should be called 'the one where everyone feels much better' please.

I am feeling a bit better today, but am so tired as have had rubbish snotty, blocked nose, coughy sleep all week. The thought of sleeping right through the night is like some kind of unreachable fantasy.

Despite feeling like falling into a bucket of carbs all week, I'm still here.

Yesterday food was:

B: 1 boiled egg, butter, BPC
L: nothing
D: cottage pie, two glasses of sauv blanc (hoping it would help me sleep - it didn't)

Today's plan:
B: 1 boiled egg, butter, BPC
L: in town, oh joy, so hoping to go to carluccios for a walnut and Gorgonzola salad
D: popped a chicken curry in the slow cooker. Will have with cauli rice.

Need to get back into three meals a day. It's easy to get into not eating when you feel like shite, but I don't think it helps recovery.

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 21/02/2015 09:56

Breakfast - boiled egg mashed with butter, streaky bacon, coffee with cream

Have lost two of those three lbs i put on yesterday Grin

BIWI · 21/02/2015 10:50

Morning all.

Sorry to hear of all your ills Sad

sass that sounds awful - here's wishing you a speedy recovery.

trash - that sounds lovely but also like it could be quite carby really!

Went to friends for dinner last night, and she very kindly cooked separately for me. Salad with blue cheese and hazelnuts to start (but with a honey-based dressing), and main - which was for all of us - was baked cod, which was lovely, but served plated up with roasted butternut squash and petit pois with bacon. So not really that low carb! No pudding for me , and some cheese afterwards.

But never mind. It was lovely of her to do something different for me, and a lovely meal altogether.

Morning to all the LC lovelies.

Walked to DMs today and had breakfast of sausage, scrambled egg, and mushrooms fried in butter. Plus a coffee (not with cream though).

Not sure what lunch or dinner will be yet.

My best wishes to those of you who are poorly, hope you all start feeling better soon.

Gcalgske · 21/02/2015 12:55

Who was the veggie again?
I just made these to use up cauli I'd riced and forgotten about to be efficient at the start of the week.
I've made them before and they are delicious. I used double the cauli plus spices I like vaguely addicted to mustard seed, black opinion seed and curry leaf and added an extra egg and got 18 patties. They are very nice for a quick bite with a spicey yoghurt. Normally 2 is enough. www.ibreatheimhungry.com/2012/03/faux-lafel-with-tahini-sauce-2.html

Gcalgske · 21/02/2015 12:56

Onion seed not opinion. Must proof read! Confused

LexLoofah · 21/02/2015 13:31

sass sorry to hear you feel rotten, sounds awful, moan away

DD now sick, why is it they always puke in the middle of the night and not at a more sociable hour? Sigh.

Cuppa at 3am

b - green smoothie: avo, cucumber, spinach, cinnamon, salt, coconut oil, coconut milk (unsweetened) and almond butter

Off to do second load of laundry, going to be a long day ...

sassandfaff · 21/02/2015 13:39

Thanks everyone.

I forgot to mention my diverticulitis in my list of ailments. Sigh.

Dp has ceased symptoms, but I am still doing toilet runs. (No pun intended)

I have lost 2lbs since my weigh in this morning. I know my goal is to lose weight, but this is a horrible way.

Horrible stomach ache. Peppermint tea is the only thing I can think of that might help.

Gcal, love that website.
