Morning campers!

You know the drill! Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for your delectation

So week 3 is fairly typically a bit of a bastard. And I'm afraid to have to tell you all that week 4 is sometimes its best friend.

Don't panic if the scales aren't moving, or even if you're seeing a slight increase. This is totally totally normal for this period of time

Keep focused, make sure you're following the rules - particularly eating the fat and drinking the water - and things should get going again shortly.

If you're struggling, post here rather than dive into the biscuit tin!

Good luck everyone

Thanks for explaining the intermittent fasting. Am sticking to BC light for now, but it's good to have ways to get to goal when we get nearer.

I'm still feeling rotten and am comfort eating to get through. I'm not going to best myself up over it. I'm staying on plan, just probably far too much. But they do say you should feed a cold ...

There are some nice recipes on the keto diet blog.

Are we ok to try low carb breads etc? Ocado sell a bread mix that I'm tempted to try. I just worry that I'll get used to it and start craving that stuff again!!

Newbiecrafter · 11/02/2015 10:22

Hello everyone.

I need some help to get back onto this after having a few days off.

I started on Han 1st so had been doing well.

I got my period last week on. Thursday after a few months of not having one. It was very heavy and I felt really spaced out. I tend to get anaemic so could have been related to that, but I ended up going for it and eating all the stuff I know I shouldn't.

I keep saying I'll start again tomorrow, but am struggling to get myself back on track. I will, I know I will! But is there a better way to get back on it?

Should I try and fast one day and then go for it or do I just start again and go low carb high fat, as before?

Things I've learnt after falling off the wagon:
If I eat carbs, I'm defo more hungry, in that low sugar crazy hungry way
I feel bloated and have digestive discomfort
I still love all things sweet. Was hoping sweet things would have been too sweet. Will I always just love sugary crap?
My joints hurt more than when I was on the wagon.
The weight goes back on uber quickly for me. I list about 6lbs in 6 weeks, and have out quite a but if that back on in the last week. It's quite depressing but I only have myself to blame!

Sounds like everyone is doing really well. Hoping to be back to not with you all tomorrow.

Notso · 11/02/2015 10:28

662 calories for me to achieve fast weight loss. Also I swear they've been spying on me as the 45% body fat picture bears an uncanny resemblance Hmm Grin

Shred done. I'm not hungry yet. Have leftover lasagne and left over donner kebab for when I am with salad.

ChesterDrawers · 11/02/2015 10:30

Newbie, I would say just do it, get straight back on and start eating all the lovely meals again. No need to punish yourself by fasting beforehand or anything like that. Most of your weight gain will be fluid/glycogen so if you are quick to get back on it, it needn't be the end of the world.

Get rid of any carby crap you have left, if you can, plan some of your favouritve LC meals for the week, shop for those and get yourself some nice LC snacks too. Drink your water and eat lots of lovely fat to keep you full. And focus on how good you'll feel in a few days time when you have all that horrible sugar out of your system again.

Good luck!

lurkingmurking · 11/02/2015 10:34

Newbie get straight back on it. Plan what you're eating for the rest of the week and chuck out all the crap.

Notso 622 calories is crazy!!

What chocolate does everyone buy? Just looking at Hotel Chocolat and they have some really high % ones.

Pisseslikeahorse · 11/02/2015 10:40

its ok Newbiecrafter were not all doing that well, and many have been where you are at the moment. Best thing to do is restart yourself with bootcamp again, it will put you in the right frame of mind and help with shifting your body back on.

Ive had a look at that weight tracker and its given me some ridiculous numbers, not sure if this should be trusted at all. Im reasonably close to maintenance and have been tracking my calories (feeding more on training days) but this is telling me I should be generally consuming over 1200 more that my current calculations.

Pisseslikeahorse · 11/02/2015 10:41

lurkingmurking - why? don't do it... Grin
have it as a treat at the end of the 10weeks

tartiflette · 11/02/2015 10:42

That donner kebab is gorgeous. Sadly I have no leftovers, even the fussy dds wolfed it down.

Newbie what you've gained will be quickly lost. Get back on it, the carbs are making you feel like shit. Why not allow yourself a nightly treat- one square of dark choc or some cream n berries, give you something to motivate you through the day?

Newbiecrafter · 11/02/2015 10:51

Thanks everyone. I needed to hear that it will be lost quickly again.

I was doing so well. Staying on the plan for nearly 6 weeks is amazing for me, even with the slow loss, but also really needed the carbs the last few days.

Right then, I'll get back to it as of now.

Thanks for the much needed motivation, and for not telling me off.

Thanks
lurkingmurking · 11/02/2015 11:02

Pisses oh no I'm not tempted at the moment, I'm just thinking ahead to Easter Day!!

StuntNun · 11/02/2015 11:08

Lurking I like dark chocolate but I find anything over 85% to be too bitter to be enjoyable. With the 90% and 100% chocolates you don't eat them, you put a small piece on your tongue and allow it to dissolve. It's probably worth a try but maybe buy a small bar first as Hotel Chocolat are pricey. I like the dark chocolate batons they do but I think they have discontinued the 85% ones now and you can only get the 70% ones now. Personally I prefer 80% or 85% chocolate because a small square satisfies the desire for a treat but I wouldn't want to eat a lot of it. With 70% chocolate I find one square tends to lead to another.

lurkingmurking · 11/02/2015 11:36

Oh thanks Stunt Nun that's good to know.

Sarahgrace - this really isn't an appropriate place for you to have posted that, so I've reported it. Hopefully MNHQ will send you a message suggesting where would be a better place to post it.

I had a look at that Ketoblog diet calculator thingy and also got a low cal intake of 873 per day for fast weight loss. Not going to pay any attention to it! However, I did like the look of her bullet proof fatbombs, but wouldn't use the sweetener and don't have an icecream maker. Anyone tried them, or similar?

Today I had:
B - lump of cheese
L - tin of red salmon with lettuce, olives, cheese, cucumber and basil+cashew pesto (just a tsp)
D - Chinese Blush - DH's fault, his turn to cook and he was late home so he picked it up. I didn't have any rice though.
And then a bowl of cherries and double cream; half a shot of PImms with sparkling mineral water - and last but most certainly the worst - 2 squares of a rich dark chocolate. Hachez blackberry chocolate = 25g carbs (21g sugar) per 100g (it's German) - 77% cocoa. Very nice, not sweet, and just made me feel about 10x more settled. Which is mad. But I'm not fidgeting wondering what else I can eat to shut my stomach up now.

Not enough water. :(

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 11/02/2015 12:34

My lunch will involve an avocado and possibly some chicken? Will have a look after the cleaner finishes at 1.30 i think. Oo, maybe some cheese too.

Forgot to put lemon juice in my last batch of mayo and it went rather wrong Blush those in the know, is there any way i can save it?

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 11/02/2015 12:47

Oo, found a paleo recipe for avocado and prawn salad, will get dh to make that :)

MrsKoala · 11/02/2015 13:09

Hi all. In an attempt to get more fat into my dinners i have got some pork belly slices. Is it okay to just slow roast them? My dad's over so i have got him and DH normal chops and will roast theirs, so it will be easy if i don't need to do something different with mine. Does anyone know how long and low should i do them for? Should i out them in the slow cooker? (or will that result in soggy not crispy fat?

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 11/02/2015 13:10

We chuck them in the oven, usually do pork chops for the kids at the same time and put them all in together :)

SayraT · 11/02/2015 13:25

lurking Hotel Chocolat do a low carb chocolate range though they don't actually have the nutritional info for the majority of their stuff so who knows what is classed as low carb. I had some "supermilk" a few weeks ago which is a lower sugar 65% cocoa milk chocolate bar. Low Carb Hotel Chocolat

I don't think though that just because a "low carb" chocolate is available means that you can eat as much as you want Grin. I plan on keeping things like that for a special occasion Smile

SayraT · 11/02/2015 13:27

Oh, just to add. Remember that these are "lower carb" than their other chocolates which doesn't necessarily mean that they are low enough!

Notso · 11/02/2015 13:38

I have really bad sweet cravings today, browsing the hotel chocolate site hasn't helped! I'm not hungry but keep opening the cupboards and fridge. I've got loads of cleaning to do and am not doing anything as am hovering in the kitchen.

BitchyDoesWitchyThings · 11/02/2015 13:50

OK, those who have flares ups do to chronic issues. Do you find that when you get a cold or virus that you need to up your carb intake with good carbs to help you keep on track? Does this work? Or is it a situation that is hard to manage and requires the will power that is impossible to muster when you are stuck in bed without energy to even want to get up to pee?

ijustwanttobeme · 11/02/2015 14:10

Hi,

Got a bit of a mental block type thing going on.

I know I'm LCing, but I'm still entering in my food to mfp and taking into account calories.

Breakfast was usual eggs, ham and cheese
Lunch was two salmon fillets in chilli, plus a large salad

As a result of this, mfp is saying I've only got 67 calories left. This has left me slightly panicky and anxious ?? This probably stems from years back when I was an obsessive calorie counter.

Please somebody, pass me a grip and tell me to have a good LC dinner and that I am not to use mfp anymore.

Thanks.
