Week 3 - Low Carb Bootcamp - Where We Have a Decision to Make!

BIWI · 02/02/2015 07:40

Morning all.

Here's the link to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

So we've finished Bootcamp! Well done all Flowers or at least to all those who are still with us Grin

Now you have a decision to make. You can move on to Bootcamp Light, if you wish, which is more relaxed (to a degree). The rules are on the tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet - sorry, I don't have time to copy/paste this morning as I have to get off to work about 10 minutes ago.

But essentially it means that you can introduce nuts and berries - in moderation. You no longer have to have three meals a day. If you're not hungry, then it's fine to skip a meal - as long as you don't then dive into a pile of carbs when you get hungry! And you can have alcohol - again, in moderation.

If you're happy with the stricter Bootcamp then by all means stay on that, but please, please, please make sure that your carbs are coming from vegetables and salad. It's important that you get nutrition from these.

Or you can, if you like, do Bootcamp at the week and Bootcamp Light at the weekend.

However

There is also something else you need to prepare for, and that is the dreaded weeks 3 and 4 slowdown!

It's something that lots of people experience. The weight loss suddenly stops, for no apparent reason. If this happens, don't worry and don't panic that you're doing anything wrong (assuming that you're not, of course Wink), just keep on keeping on, and it will get going again - albeit at a slower rate.

From here on, you should be expecting to see a loss of 1-2lbs a week.

Good luck everyone!

My fat distribution around my tummy seems to have changed. The top roll of my tummy blubber is now folding over when i sit down and sitting on the button of my jeans causing me to have an allergic reaction to my button - ouch. Will have to get out the nail varnish and coat it.

Has anyone else noticed any body changes? I am hoping my fat feet go down next so that i can fit back into all my lovely too small shoes.

nowitsenough · 06/02/2015 09:23

I will most definitely eat the crispy chicken skin, it's the best bit!

I am definitely in awe of your big stick. I'll keep posting though, positive and negative.

Smile
Mrsstevejones · 06/02/2015 09:27

KOKO NOW, umm chicken skin. Well done for the dance class that will have burnt off a load of those pesky carbs.

Happy friday everyone the weekend is nearly upon us and DH is cooking, yay

Fatstacks · 06/02/2015 09:37

Morning Campers Smile

After yesterday I had a cheeky go on the scales and it's showing 1lb down [shocked]

I'm not a regular weigh-er because it pushes me into psychotic rages and I know that I'm usually punished for discretion's the following week on every other diet but I'm a masochist interested to see if my loss pattern will be the same on LC.

Yesterday I drank a cup of water every 20 mins to try and chase the carbs out Grin

I lose slowly, but I feel a bit firmer and not as jiggly so despite the sweet stuff ban I'm really happy with progress so far.

Lifted the fence panel out to take the dogs this morning, couldn't risk bumping in to that bus again.
People have camera phones and stuff now tisn't safe.

B. Eggs.
L. Peppered pork salad.
D. tbc

Have a good un Smile

Morning all. What is this KOKO i am seeing?

I got on MY scales this morning and it seems i have STS this week. Which actually very good considering i was at PILs for 5 days. So i don't seem to have lost but i haven't regained the 4lb lost from the previous week. i'm really happy with that.

Also i am now back into my Hobbs size 12 trousers. Which isnt a 'real' 12 as they are pretty big - more like a 14/16. i am still nowhere near my Jigsaw or FCUK 12s. BUT. it's definitely going in the right direction. I am still wearing maternity jeans - which are hanging off me. But my other jeans are too tight. I don't want to buy ones which fit now as i reckon i'm only a couple of weeks off my old jeans. And THEN i am going to treat myself to all new trendy jeans anyway. (all of mine are still bootcut

imustbepatient · 06/02/2015 10:13

Morning all.

Mrssteve yes, I can see changes in my stomach area, the skin feels looser and doesn't seem as hard as it used it. It folds differently! Plus I can see a few changes in my legs and in my face, (which is very chubby naturally, even when slim). Hoo-bloody-rah! Esp as my sneaky peak at the scales is showing one pound up, so it's really good to have something positive to focus on, something else to show that I am losing fat, even if the scales don't show it!

Today breakfast has been bacon and eggs. Lunch will be salmon dip (with mayo, cream and a bit of lemon juice) with cucumber and celery. I'm out for dinner with friends tonight so will go with whatever looks the lowest carb on the menu.

Good luck to everyone for persevering through the dreaded weeks 3 and 4. The whoosh fairy will be along soon...

galbraith · 06/02/2015 10:39

Thanks Beyond and Chipping, I certainly will KOKO!

I think I will go for a modified version of Ubercamp next week Monday-Friday, with no alcohol, nuts or dairy. Bought 1kg of chicken thighs and I'm planning on having lots of delicious butter lemon chicken, meatballs with courgetti and other delectable things! Yum. Might miss the cheese though, think I'll need to lock it up somewhere.

Thinking back on my Wednesday nightmare, I think it's all to do with feeling I need to fit in with anything work-related and can't make a fuss, which probably isn't very healthy. Something to work on I think...

galbraith · 06/02/2015 10:53

MrsKoala KOKO = Keep On Keeping On Grin

Have a fab time in Brighton!

lurkingmurking · 06/02/2015 13:36

Oooo enjoy Dublin BIWI

Scales were very kind this morning with .5lb off which puts me at dead on 12 stone. Good motivation to keep it off for Monday's weigh in. I am at a jewellery party at a friend's tonight but am driving and will avoid the crisps!

Grub today:

B: 2 fried eggs, bacon, mushrooms, coffee w cream
L: Chicken stuffed with mozarella and basil wrapped in parma ham, celeriac gratin
D: Beef stew before I go out
E: Kettlebells class (I did 12kg whoop) and Zumba class

Have lots of exercise planned for the weekend too. Bring on Monday!!

cymrukernow · 06/02/2015 13:37

Galbraith I have found much better results this week from cutting down on dairy, was eating bowls of yoghurt and way too much cheese. Having said that when I made my salad this morning I found I was out of Mayo - yikes! Improvised with blob of Greek yogurt salt n pepper, squeeze of lemon, it was really good!
B- half an avocado
L- salad with leftover burger more avocado
D- salmon with buttered veg and slim noodles
S- a few salted peanuts, spoon of marscapone ( even though it's not sweet it reminds me of tiramisu!) Grin

Birdinacage · 06/02/2015 13:44

Afternoon everyone, hope the day is going well for you all.

I had a go at making a cauliflower crust pizza last night, it turned out pretty well and was able to be sliced and picked up like a proper pizza so I guess I managed to squeeze it ok, it was a bit dry for me though and still tasted very strongly of cauliflower which was a little odd. Ate the left overs for lunch today and it was nicer cold, I used cheddar in place of parmesan as I didn't have any in so I'm thinking it might taste better with the parmesan as it's strong enough to overpower the cauli taste but not sure how to make it less dry without having it be soggy and floppy Confused.

galbraith · 06/02/2015 14:00

cymrukernow Ooh that's encouraging, I've been eating verrry large amounts of Greek yoghurt for breakfast which probably isn't doing me any favours?

I've also been inspired by your leftover burger lunch, which sounds delicious!

EhricLovesTheBhrothers · 06/02/2015 14:57

I made cauli pizza last night but I didn't feel it was worth the effort. It was nice but too much hassle.

lurkingmurking · 06/02/2015 15:21

Just booked a getaway for May half term. Its not going to be bikini weather but I WILL be at my target weight (147lbs) by then absolutely no excuses!

BitchyDoesWitchyThings · 06/02/2015 17:06

Not eaten anything yet today. Another day of sleeping through it feeling rough. This is more that just burn out. I think that this is virus with the fibro. Ds is also off school with a sickness bug. Taking it gently but any advice for when stomachs are fragile and too much fat is unsettling it?

Mrsstevejones · 06/02/2015 17:18

Had a manic day today and hardly had a chance to eat anything - naughty.
Loads of water however.

B- BPC, mini pepperoni
L/S- Big knob of cheese
D - Will be fakeaway lamb doner kebabs with salad

Just sorted out my bedroom and caught sight of myself in the mirror and did a little happy dance as def slimmer - thats the best feeling. Happy friday everyone

Mrsstevejones · 06/02/2015 17:19

Poor you bitchy, i would suggest a cauli soup with a splash of cream.

LexLoofah · 06/02/2015 17:33

made mayo for the first time last night, used half coconut oil, half macadamia nut oil. At first it tasted vile but after more salt and some paprika is actually OK. Not as thick as bought stuff, more like emulsion paint but that's OK.

Also, ate significantly less dinner last night that we usually would do and did not want anything sweet after so maybe appetite and taste buds are changing? DH is 3lb down, I am ignoring scales until Monday

B - prosciutto, buttery scrambled eggs, avo, cuppa
L - leftover BBQ'd beef kebabs with courgette, aubergine, shallot, pepper & mushrooms with mixed leaves, cucumber, hm mayo and mustard horseradish
D - will be BBQ'd sirloin steaks with garlic butter, collards, broccoli and maybe mashed turnip

Have a good weekend all especially those lucky ones who are going away

ChesterDrawers · 06/02/2015 17:53

Bitchy, sorry you're still feeling rough.

I am having a proud moment. DS who's 4 and a fussy veg dodger, has just eaten beef with mushrooms, courgette, leeks, and shallots and a load of cauliflower rice. He is getting better with veg as I've been giving him more LC meals, but I never thought he'd eat the rice Grin

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 06/02/2015 18:02

Dinner - pork belly, fried mushrooms, green beans, broccoli and cauli. Maybe a spoonful of carrot and swede mash as dh and the boys are having it. Coffee and cream

BitchyDoesWitchyThings · 06/02/2015 18:09

Oh well done to ds Chester

I am actually pleased it is a virus. It will pass, I will feel rough, and I can't expect to feel anything but rough for now. It is easier this way. Just need to build in my contingency plans.

mrsS I will add that to my list of foods for iffy tums. Thanks

CharlieSierra · 06/02/2015 19:35

Evening all, haven't fully read through but generally the mood seems positive, could it be the Friday night factor I wonder?

Good day food wise, a little treat breakfast of 1/2 small pot total ff with a splash of cream and a touch of almond butter, leftover gyoza meatballs with salad and Mayo for lunch and a lovely salmon fillet with vegetable fried 'rice' for dinner.

Looking forward to a couple of long walks this weekend and a manicure tomorrow, not going to think about work and going to get some good sleep.

RandomHouseRules · 06/02/2015 20:22

Today:
B: scrambled egg with spinach
L: salad with goats cheese and bacon
D: cauli rice risotto with crayfish tails, leek and broccoli

Mrsstevejones · 06/02/2015 20:51

Hubby made the fakeaway doner kebab which we had with salad and whilst it wasnt quite the same - not nearly greasy enough but was nice.
The mix would probably make good burgers. Yum

Has anyone made the ooppsie rolls, would they make a good bun replacement?

mootime · 06/02/2015 20:53

Hi all. I think I need to change my weigh in day to Thursday. I sneaked on the scales yesterday and was 3lbs down, but back up again this morning. I'm fine about it though, the general trend is downward!
I've also had a tricky few days, one where I drank a bit too much, then another where I had to deal with a hangover. We are going to a christening this weekend which will make carb avoidance tricky. Hoping there is something I can eat. Going to take snacks, so that I can always fill up afterwards.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.
Xx
