Good morning! Already seen that there are some good losses, even for those in the dreaded week 3 Grin

Come and confess all on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I love this point in Bootcamp. It's such a leap of faith for so many people when they first start low carbing, because it seems so strange to eat all the fat we're told to eat. But then when the scales show the result, I love it!

Sorry X post.

TeapotDictator · 30/01/2015 20:32

Weight doesn't seem to be shifting but I'm pretty sure it's hormonal. It had better be...

B - BPC
L - Mackerel, avocado, cucumber, lettuce salad with mustard, EVOO, cider vinegar dressing
D - too stressed to eat much. Raw carrots. Off to bed soon.

Bought some raw cacao butter today... going to put some of that in my BPC tomorrow morning. Tastes delicious!

PseudoBadger · 30/01/2015 20:38

Bleurgh. DP has got a D&V bug, and I have a rotten cold. He's not having dinner (or anything else!) and I have no sense of smell/taste so have no appetite at all.
Today -
B - Total and cream
L - salami, mozzarella, olive oil and cucumber.
S - tuna mayo and lettuce
D - nothing yet but more salami (I can taste the salt). Might have more yoghurt Sad

tartiflette · 30/01/2015 20:39

For marmite cheese bites do you just spread a bit of marmite on a slice of cheese?

BestIsWest · 30/01/2015 20:43

Not posted for a few days as I haven't been well. Recovering from horrible virus which turned into chest infection. Going into week 5 of it now.

Haven't posted my daily menus as too tired but I've been sticking to BC rigidly.

I have a big challenge tomorrow as it is DDs birthday on Sunday and she's asked me to make a pavlova instead of a cake. I'm not generally bothered by cake but I love pavlova. Maybe I wil just have to top it with berries and cream and allow myself a little bit of the topping.

PseudoBadger · 30/01/2015 20:43

I'm having 2 boiled eggs

BestIsWest · 30/01/2015 20:44

I actually came on to say that I had the M&S pork scratchings today and that's hey are so much nicer than the Mr Porkys.

perfectpeach · 30/01/2015 20:53

sorry, don't mind me. I am really, really not with it at all today

CharlieSierra · 30/01/2015 20:56

tartiflette you can spread marmite on cheese, but you can also buy them in a net in the supermarket - by the babybel and other mini cheeses. I'm not 100% sure they're ok though, but they are quite small so on that basis can't do too much damage I figure. going to google them now....

CharlieSierra · 30/01/2015 20:58

1.2 per 100g

BitchyTakesOnManagement · 30/01/2015 21:08

I appear to be on some sort of inadvertant egg fast today. Blush

breakfast : 2 eggs scrambled
lunch: 2 fried eggs, 2 sausages and 2 pieces of bacon (needed a big ass breakfast to last me until I got home)
Just about to boil 2 eggs as only got in having spent the entire afternoon driving and too tired to fix anything else.

there has been a few too many coffees today. bad night's sleep combined with having to function. Thankfully I am pretty zombied and sleep will be good.

BIWI · 30/01/2015 21:13

TeapotDictator - sorry you're not losing, but I'm not surprised!

You're not eating breakfast. Why?

You're stressed.

You're not eating dinner. Why?

And you're eating carrots, which are too carby.

So you're not following Bootcamp rules!

Are you drinking the amount of water that you should be?

Since my vomiting session on Weds I'm struggling to find food I can face......i suspect it'll take a few days to get back to normal. Maybe stick to yoghurt tomorrow.

BTW, when the time comes when we're out of Bootcamp, has anyone tried Sukrin Seeded bread mix ? Saw it in the health food shop today...?

WineCheeseSleep · 30/01/2015 21:55

Hello! I started boot camp on Monday after getting really frustrated at the lack of progress I was making on slimming world. I just had no willpower on it and was cheating all the time. My fault though rather than SW's, I know it's worked for loads of people.

I can't believe how great this WOE is! I am eating wonderful things I never thought I'd be allowed on a "diet" and the best part is that the food is so satisfying I don't get hungry between meals so haven't been tempted by carbs/sugars at all which is so surprising for me. This feels like a really natural way to eat too, no quark etc.

Thanks very much BIWI, you must spend a lot of time doing this!

Romeyroo · 30/01/2015 21:58

Hiya,

I have been on a bit of an egg fast the last couple of days, mainly because I was limping in to pay day. My fridge is now full of meat, fish and lots of low carb veg (and more eggs), so my diet will get more varied.

B - half a pot of plain soya yogurt (had even run out of eggs)
L - ham, lettuce and cucumber
D - DC wanted to go to Pizza Hut once they realised I had been paid Grin. High living indeed! I had lots more cucumber and salad from the salad bar, a bit of coleslaw and chicken wings (not before looking up the nutrition info on some fat count website).

I am going to try and drink some more water before bed.

BIWI · 30/01/2015 22:31

Hi everyone I have yet another recipe question, sorry. Tom I want to make the chicken satay recipe that was on Lorraine this morning - all looks BC friendly except peanut butter. The recipe calls for 75g of peanut butter for 4 people. I thought I would make my own peanut butter without sugar just nuts oil and salt. How would that work out carb wise? Should I wait until next week for nuts? Was planning on staying on BC for all 10 weeks except occasional raspberry or strawberry.

Tia

Amaxapax · 30/01/2015 23:57

If I ever have peanut butter I use Whole Earth organic, which is made of peanuts, palm oil and salt, so basically what you're proposing to use. Theirs contains 10.1g of carbs per 100g.

LexLoofah · 31/01/2015 01:46

Met DH after work for lovely walk then made beef stirfry with bok choi, broccoli and tried the shiritaki noodles for the first time, good to have for a meal like this but for pasta replacement would rather have courgetti and do spaghetti for the kids.

Have just put some strips of beef to marinade in the fridge as planning to try making beef jerky this weekend as the meat stick pepperami type things are quite expensive if we both have a few a week.

mrssteve you have got me thinking about lamb kebabs now, how did they turn out? Might make some tomorrow.

Thumbwitch · 31/01/2015 04:17

Oh I am Ashamed. I was a proper carby twat today - went out with DH and the boys to the local Show, did the tour, let them do horseriding, blah blah etc. - then bought ice cream. Of which I had one because I simply wasn't thinking Blush - as soon as I realised (most of the way down the ice cream and just into the edge of the cone) I stopped and gave it to DH but worratwat! Blush

Lunch was cheddar cubes and mini-mozzarella mixed with chopped lettuce and julienne grated cucumber, in mayonnaise. Back on the straight and narrow now

Almahart · 31/01/2015 07:31

I understand the perils of weighing everyday, but why on earth would I be 3ib heavier this morning than yesterday?Confused. Definitely haven't cheated, not totm either

Mrsstevejones · 31/01/2015 07:33

Lex - when i dived in the freezer i realised i didnt actually have any lamb mince. So made fish pie instead which was amazing, with a few tweaks from the lovely low carbers on here.

I am keen to get my kids to eat fish that doesnt have batter on! and this recipe def hit the spot. My 10mo and 3yr wolfed it down and even hubby said it wasnt bad.

I did find some long forgotten chicken thighs - hence satay tonight and i am obsessed with thai food.

Will def be making the lamb doner however

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 31/01/2015 08:06

almaheart if you are doing everything right, ignore it. I'm exactly the same, my weight varies so much within a week. I used to worry a lot about it but I have lost 27 in 3 months. I track my weight on an app and it's so bouncy, but you can see the general trend in down.
No one gains 3lb of fat overnight.

Liveinthepresent · 31/01/2015 08:30

Morning all - am struggling to keep up with all the chat on here - funny time at work at the moment but I think I am doing a pretty good job of sticking to the plan in spite of being so frazzled.
Managed to persuade a RL friend to start too

Last time I posted i mentioned i was not feeling well - am now wondering to what extent my symptoms are related to the WoE.
So has anyone else had palpitations?
And even more perturbing than those - I am burping constantly ! Am not getting classic heartburn / indigestion pain but am literally burping all the time by the evenings.
poor DH feels like he is living with a bull frog.

My friend is on day 4 and has started to experience similar to me - are we doing something wrong?

Sorry if this should be on questions thread but I though more of you would read this!

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 31/01/2015 08:40

Dammit, forgot to get the smoked salmon out of the freezer for breakfast!! Grr.
Breakfast will now be a green smoothie with spring greens, cauli leaves, half an avocado, cream and coconut oil. Will probably put something else in it too, but need to have a look at whats in the fridge.
And a cup of green tea with mint
