Good morning! Already seen that there are some good losses, even for those in the dreaded week 3 Grin

Come and confess all on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I love this point in Bootcamp. It's such a leap of faith for so many people when they first start low carbing, because it seems so strange to eat all the fat we're told to eat. But then when the scales show the result, I love it!

I went to stay and play, there were home made biscuits today... I didnt have one! I took a bpc and sipped that through the coffee bit :) :) :)

Yay me!!

mootime · 30/01/2015 16:46

Feeling positive today.
Breakfast was coyo with a couple of blueberries and a coffee with coconut oil.
I had a work lunch and while not ideal I had lamb shoulder with buttered red cabbage. I'm going to make Bolognese with courgetti this eve. Am sure DH will think I'm crazy...
Do you just boil the courgetti or pan fry it?

Grah0SoontobeaFatty · 30/01/2015 17:17

BIWI. Weighing is only because I chop veg into two containers in the morning. 1 is 2cup and other is a 4cup. Cheese is 8oz block chopped in 8 cubes. Otherwise I eat the block first time. Gouda I grate and then grab some and sprinkle. Just looks about half the size of a grated cube. Water drinking about 7 litres of fluids a day. My mug holds over 500ml
The weight of mince was because I brought it 2lb and divided it into 4 meal piles. So not deliberately weighing and measuring giving potion size info. Chicken was 2 breasts prepackaged from before bc quartered cubed for lunches.
I'll try some BPC and chuck in a nob of butter to the pan.
Bacon comes with tiny rind. Making my own 3lb pork loin block that has more fat. Don't like streaky as not enough meat on it. Thank you for the info
Grah.

Anyone else struggling with the limited list of veg we're allowed to eat?

I bought a big bag of kale for dinner tonight and now I discover it's 9g per 100g carbs!

I'm sick to the back teeth of salad, cauliflower, courgette and broccoli...

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 30/01/2015 17:28

Dinner - bolognese, cheese, mashed swede

Mrsstevejones · 30/01/2015 17:37

What....? 9g/100g for kale - bugger i have been eating it all last week, i put it in bloody everything. That might explain only 2lbs down.

I also eat spring greens 3.1g, canned toms 3.1g, cucumber, tonnes of broccoli
and limited quantities of yellow and green peppers.

LexLoofah · 30/01/2015 17:40

mootime for courgetti just sautee with butter, only takes a few minutes,

mushroom Google thinks kale is 9g, but other sources ( USDA Nutrition Database for example) has it at around 3 or 4 depending on if raw or cooked, I hope so as I eat it quite often. Is that what it says on the packet?

costababe · 30/01/2015 17:44

I think I am a bit too negative for this thread Blush and no amount of stern talking will stop me feeling very disappointed at the slow weight loss/ constant gaining and Biwi, you are right, I should think of those who lose slowly. It's just with over 10 stone to lose, I have such a long journey ahead of me. I will keep reading the thread though, I love reading peoples successes and food ideas :) I will butt in if I can offer some help or advice!

SayraT · 30/01/2015 17:48

The allowed veg list is not really the only list you are allowed. It is just a guide to get people started, we are trying to stay below 3g carbs per 100g but can have higher carb veg sometimes.

I would think that 100g kale would be a huge amount, a pack seems to be around 200g and the pack I looked at said 1.3g per 100g so well below the 3g per 100g.

What did it actually say on your pack?

P.S if anyone feels like it then make a more extensive list and send it to me, I am afraid that I don't have time to make new lists.

Mrsstevejones · 30/01/2015 18:08

Thanks to everyone for the fish pie suggestions.... it was lovely

I used fish pie mix,a defrosted bassa fillet and a small bag of raw jumbo prawns. I steamed them then add to dish, squeeze of lemon juice. I made the sauce with cream and cream cheese, little bit of lemon zest, tiny bit of chilli ( couldnt taste it but then neither could DC), I sweated a huge leek with garlic and chilli, then added it to dish.

I boiled and mashed swede and cauli together and topped. Put in oven for 30 mins with a generous serving of parmesan and pepper. Amazing!

Made a huge serving so will be having it tom as well.

Pisseslikeahorse · 30/01/2015 18:13

AttitcusFinchIsMyFather - sorry if this has been asked before, but have you listed out your food, would you like us / me to take a look? I've done the sort of loss your after so might be able to help.

An ok day today but have been a bit food bored...

B. 3 eggs coffee cream
L. Bacon eggs mushroom mayo spinach
D. cauliflower, cheese mayo & chilli
S. olives cheese coffee cream

SayraT · 30/01/2015 18:35

Food today was very boring, I am looking forward to going shopping on Monday unless OH can bring me some food if he comes through on Sat.

B: Leftover pork belly slices, coffee with cream
L: Spring greens, green beans and chorizo fried in butter
D: Chicken fried in butter with asparagus with butter
S: Cheese, FF yogurt

I love butter!

MushroomTree · 30/01/2015 18:56

I Googled but I'll take your word for it that it's 1.3g so I can eat it!

readyforno2 · 30/01/2015 19:20

Everyone has been so kind, thank you all! Also jumped on the scales earlier and I've had a wee woosh. Down to 143 so I'm chuffed.

I have done that before imust. Sometimes flights change or they have to stay out for a bit longer/shorter than intended so it can make it more difficult iyswim?
Right now I'm telling them that daddy will be back closer to mummy's birthday and they're accepting that.

Pisses, I'm kinda just going by the way I'm feeling and bmi (although I know that's not really agreed with atm). I was really happy with my body when I got married, was 9 1/2 st. I want to get to 9st for my birthday, then try to maintain and stay between the two. 10st will be my kick up the arse that I need to get back to it. I need to look into maintaining and how that all works, I guess it's all trial and error?

Anyway, haven't done too badly today
B - scrambled eggs
L/D - we went to a carvery, had loads of meat and no potatoes/carby veg. Did have a little gravy which I'm sure wasn't very lc friendly but can't really complain, Was nice to get out with the dc and forget about being "stuck" on my own.

SayraT · 30/01/2015 19:24

mushroom kale

BIWI · 30/01/2015 19:35

You don't have to stick to veg that's 3g of carbs per 100g - it's just better to focus on those, and allow other veg more sparingly/occasionally. But from next week, when we move to Bootcamp Light you can add more carby veg anyway!

If you're feeling restricted, have a good look at the recipe thread. There's plenty of inspiration there.

Attitcus I know you're impatient, because you have a lot to lose! But this is a marathon, not a race, and you really do have to get your head into the right kind of place. You know it's not realistic (or even possible!) to lose at the same rate every week as you did at the beginning of Bootcamp. So it's about the strategies that you're going to put in place to keep focused and on track.

ijustwanttobeme · 30/01/2015 19:46

Am a bit late posting today, but have been mega busy at work.

B: coffee wi cream
L: chicken Caesar salad no croutons
D: tandoori chicken with loads of salad

Almost tempted to have a is uit at work today, was quite stressed and back in the day (ie two weeks ago), I would have polished 1/2 dozen off in one go. However today I resisted and had a glass of water instead.

Also, I need to meal plan a bit more though otherwise as previous posters have said, my meals will become a bit samey.

Mrsstevejones · 30/01/2015 19:55

Oh well it looks like i cant blame kale for my slow weight loss, but thats good as i have developed a real taste for it.

MushroomTree · 30/01/2015 19:55

Thanks everyone. For tonights dinner I've got chicken stuffed with boursan, wrapped in bacon, with chilli swede mash and buttered kale :)

perfectpeach · 30/01/2015 19:55

Hi all

I am a lurker of the thread but coming out the shadows.

I have about 4 stone to lose!!! :( I have lost and gained a few lbs the past couple of weeks, though I have lost more than I have gained, but after a few really bad days with stress and health worries leading to takeaways 3 days in a row I am really trying to get back on track.

I have zero energy today, really not functioning, didn't even recognise my neighbour in the supermarket Confused

Anyway for speed and convenience I ate a Tesco veg moussaka and Amy's Kitchen lasagne for brunch. 4 slices of toast and butter for lunch and thanks to a brief burst of energy this evening I have cooked some dried chickpeas and made chickpea and vegetable soup with harissa. I was going to make it dryer and have it over brown rice but I think I have had mooooore than enough carbs for today!

BIWI · 30/01/2015 20:16

perfectpeach I'm really sorry, but none of what you have eaten is acceptable on Bootcamp. You've had pasta, bread and chickpeas - none of which are even allowed on Bootcamp Light! Have you read the rules of Bootcamp?

OP posts:
CharlieSierra · 30/01/2015 20:24
