Good morning! Already seen that there are some good losses, even for those in the dreaded week 3 Grin

Come and confess all on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I love this point in Bootcamp. It's such a leap of faith for so many people when they first start low carbing, because it seems so strange to eat all the fat we're told to eat. But then when the scales show the result, I love it!

A little non-scale victory this morning - a new pair of trousers I bought that were too tight two weeks ago, I'm wearing today. Grin

Thumbwitch · 28/01/2015 07:18

I am being SO STRONG - I have been absolutely hanging to have chocolate this afternoon and have Resisted. Someone please pat me on the back or something...

costababe · 28/01/2015 07:26

Morning all i just I am waiting to see the % re MFP, I'm set at 15 carbs 65 fat and 20 protein I'm sure I read on one of the other BC that was correct, but I have got a sieve like memory recently, so could all be wrong! I'm normally 15 to 20 on the carbs and slightly over the protein each day. I await the knowledgable BIWI.
Hope you managed some sleep Mrs KoalaBrew and today will be improved.
Just had two boiled eggs mashed with butter and loads of black pepper, one of my fav things!
Have a good morning all,

DrDiva · 28/01/2015 07:28

thumb have a pat on the back from someone from down your neck of the woods...

costababe · 28/01/2015 07:29

Big pat on the back Thumbwitch for resisting!!
We know have a new quite in the costa house, due to sugar cravings! I'm determined to not crack but can be heard to mutter ' I need to lick something' much to the delight of Me Costa and giggles from DS212, I only mean chocolate or the like of courseBlush

ChesterDrawers · 28/01/2015 07:46

Well done Thumb have a pat on the back from me too.

Still going well here. Enjoying my food and exercise also going well.

B: Working from home and fancy a fry up - so, bacon x 2, scrambled eggs in butter x 2, lots of mushrooms in butter, a BPC
L: Avocado, parma ham, mayo, salad
D: Pork mince spicy kebabs, coleslaw, salad

Can I ask what the problem is with cabbage? I always thought it was pretty low carb but have seen a few posts saying otherwise. I missed the original post though. I was going to make coleslaw later...

Fatstacks · 28/01/2015 07:54

Morning bCampers

Dp was late home last night so I had a stand off with the 70% chocolate drops. Stalemate for two hours.
It was tense but we reached a compromise and I had greek yog with unsweetened desecrated coconut and grated 85% choc (didn't even finsh the mini bar just wrapped it back up) Smile

B. Cold sausage.
L. Chicken salad.
D. Fishy pie/bake thing.

Fhave a good un Smile

ChippingInLatteLover · 28/01/2015 07:55

chester. It's quite high in carbs, but ok for occasional use. It varies between types, but is about 9g per 100g on average I think.

lurkingmurking · 28/01/2015 08:14

Another pat from me Thumbs well done!!

Is anyone finding they are sleeping like a log? I'm loving it (obvs apart from when DC wake me up)

Plan today is:

B: 3 eggs scrambled with butter, 2x coffee and cream
L: smoked mackerel with salad and a boiled egg
D: chicken fajitas with guacamole and soured cream (no tortillas)

bettybigballs · 28/01/2015 08:16

Morning all, loving reading everyone's menus, inspiring.

Enjoying my favourite breakfast, toasted oopsie rolls with lashings of butter. Almost taste reminiscent of a buttery criossant.

Hungry this morning so also going to have a coffee with cream and some ham.

Have a great day losers!

ChesterDrawers · 28/01/2015 08:17

Wow, I am a bit shocked at that Chipping, I always thought general rule is the green stuff was really low and it was the brighter veg you needed to watch/avoid. I will use what I have but might give it a swerve or have occasionally in future.

EhricLovesTheBhrothers · 28/01/2015 08:17

I baked flapjacks on Sunday, cherry flapjacks with chocolate on top. Apart from snaffling a few crumbs that broke off (ok big crumbs but still) I have not eaten any. I'm amazed at myself! I'm usually a sugar every day addict. I cannot usually leave sugary treats for more than a few hours, let alone days!

I have weighed again and still showing 2lb loss, tomorrow will be one week so hoping the 2lb stays off. I don't think I will ever get spectacular losses on low carb as I'm veggie, but I'm trying to limit cheese to one meal per day to help it.

EhricLovesTheBhrothers · 28/01/2015 08:19

Meaning that being veggie limits my options so I find a few more carby things creep in.

BIWI · 28/01/2015 08:41

My scales hate me.

Every time I get on them they give me my starting weight. So I get off, let them turn themselves off, then get back on. Only then do they show me a lower weight.

Re MFP

Everything I have read over the course of the many Bootcamps we've now done would suggest that this can give very unreliable readings. And can I remind you that THE WHOLE POINT OF BOOTCAMP is that you don't need to weigh or count ANYTHING?!

Honestly people - why make life difficult and worrying for yourselves?!

Grin

ijustwanttobeme

Can I just ask about the mfp nutrition breakdown pie chart thingie. On average I gave been eating a total of 15.25 % carbs, 55% fat and the rest protein. Is that about right? I'm not calcing net carbs as such, just not eating them if possible

These look OK, although you could probably do with upping your fat a little bit, and lowering the protein.

What I'm concerned about, though, the last statement, that you're not eating carbs if possible? You are supposed to be eating plenty of veg and salad, which is where your carbs should be coming from

re cabbage

Carb counts vary because there are different kinds of cabbage - white, green, savoy, sweetheart, red, etc.

White, green or savoy are, as far as I know, reasonably low carb, at around 5 or 6g per 100g. Obviously this means that cabbage doesn't fall into the key category of veg that we should be focussing on, but it does mean that you can have it occasionally without worrying.

The recipe I posted earlier for coleslaw does have a carb count of only around 6g per serving, and given that it also includes carrot and shallot, I think it's fairly safe to say you can eat that!

Sticking really well to the food plan but had two glasses of wine last night.couldn't really avoid it as it was work related and I was the host. I feel the pain of those whose little ones are keeping them awake. Mine are grown up and left home but now I can't sleep. Very busy at work and a bit stressed. Keep waking at 2am with a to do list in my head and then don't get back to sleep. After the wine last night I slept like a baby.

Aargh that's not funny! Does your heart drop every time you see it?

Biwi can you advise on how I'm getting on? I'm trying to stick to veggie bootcamp rules and I am losing but just want to check what you think. My menu is quite repetitive so...
B 2 boiled eggs with butter mashed in, lots of salt
L salad with avocados, olives and a drizzle of dressing (not really allowed but it's 1.5 g per serving so can I get away with it? Just olive oil and lemon juice depresses me)
2nd L some kind of veggie based meal, such as cauliflower and mushroom soup with yoghurt in, or mashed cauliflower and green beans (unmashed) with butter
D omelette with cheese, mushrooms etc, or zero noodles with tomato sauce and grated cheddar
S total ff or whipped cream and a couple of strawberries

I'm having coffee with cream this morning instead of milk but as I usually have coffee at work that's tricky most days.

CharlieSierra · 28/01/2015 09:04

Ehric I take enough cream for 2 coffees with me to work each day in a little pot, and I use individual coffee filters which I keep in my office. If I ran out of filters and had to use the coffee machine I would just get black coffee and add my cream to that. Can't you take your cream with you?

MrsKoala · 28/01/2015 09:13

MOrning all. Well done Thumb. It's really hard when you crave something like that. We have none in the house (only some white choc buttons - for bribing DS - which i don't like), otherwise i'm sure my resolve would be way more wobbly.

Horrible night as expected. Went to bed at midnight and was up 7 times by 5.30am. DH then took DS2 and i had 2 hrs till 7.30. Woohoo Hmm

Everyone is still horrible here with the added bonus of DS1 cold now having a hacking cough too and i have a sore throat and ache all over. DS2 is also snotty. Good times!

I woke feeling really empty and faint (lots of bfing in the night) so had a few spoons of yog and a cup of tea. I can't face solid food atm but i feel hungry. May try some soft scrambled eggs. I would normally be mainlining manuka honey when my throat feels like this :(

Hope everyone has a great day.

Amaxapax · 28/01/2015 09:21

I'm losing the will a little bit. On the first day of bootcamp, I was 202. I weighed myself that Wednesday and I was 201, Saturday I was 200, Monday I was 202. I weighed myself today and I'm 201 again. I really am very strict, I haven't had any wobbles, but how can I have only lost a pound in a week and a half? I know that this is my fourth week and it is a notorious time for stalling, but it's disheartening.

I won't waver because I have to stay on track to avoid hating myself on holiday, but I really need to see some improvement in the numbers.

ChesterDrawers · 28/01/2015 09:24

God I love this 'diet'. Just had a huge fry up cooked in oodles of lovely butter, with a delicious BPC and I now have a very happy, full stomach.

I still tend to shy away from proper breakfasts, even though I've embraced the whole 'fat is my friend' thing, I still see them as bad. I think from now on they will be my staple weekend and work from home breakfast Grin

lurkingmurking · 28/01/2015 09:26

Oh god MrsK that sounds utterly horrendous. Is DS at nursery today? Can you sneak in a quick nap?

Ehric do you have a fridge at work? I just bring in a pot of cream and use it like milk.

newrecruit · 28/01/2015 09:28

Morning.

Today I feel really tearful. I have no idea whether this is related or not.

Normally I would eat something to make myself feel better - scramble eggs just not doing it for me.

I'm desperate for something sweet / a slice of toast and jam or a muffin or something.

What I'm nervous about is that there are a whole host of emotional reasons why I eat and this is possibly making me confront them.

Im not sure I have the time! Hmm

Has anyone else felt like this or am I just having a bad day regardless?

EhricLovesTheBhrothers · 28/01/2015 09:35

Yeah I could do. Would it make much difference? I only have one coffee a day
