Good morning! Already seen that there are some good losses, even for those in the dreaded week 3 Grin

Come and confess all on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I love this point in Bootcamp. It's such a leap of faith for so many people when they first start low carbing, because it seems so strange to eat all the fat we're told to eat. But then when the scales show the result, I love it!

Well my dinner out was with lovely, lovely company, but the food was not so successful. The restaurant didn't have half the stuff advertised on the website, so I had a salad. It was ok, but I really really want hot food now! Was also not terribly filling so am hungry...
But that is a very, very small gripe, as I enjoyed my extremely rare night out!

LexLoofah · 27/01/2015 21:16

Bitchy, Lurking and Chester - thanks for the advice, agree best not to lie outright, leave the door open and be as vague as possible.

Will ask for something like a chicken ceasar salad and bring snacks in case it is low on protein and fat. I know it might seem odd but I cannot abide anyone noseying into my eating habits, apart from you guys of course !

I would never dream of commenting on what someone is eating unless it is along the lines of 'that looks nice/ how did you make it/can I have the recipe'

BIWI · 27/01/2015 21:18

Lex you're going to have to get used to it, I'm afraid! There will be many opportunities ahead where you will have to tell people what you can/can't eat - and you need to be able to assert your own preferences/requirements without feeling odd or guilty about it!

Hi all, good day here, but another long one. Just having a decaf coffee with cream before bed, I'm exhausted.

B-Greek yogurt with clotted cream.

L- Salmon salad with spinach and baby kale.

D- Nandos chicken thighs and salad. Yum.

Will go back and read the thread now. Smile

MrsKoala · 27/01/2015 22:03

uuugh crappy evening as predicted. DS1 was bouncing off the walls, of course. What with that and DS2 constant screaming (poor little sausage is clearly in agony) i just buckled and called DH and asked him to not go to his thing this evening and come home instead. Which of course he did. So that was a relief. DS1 still bed refused tho and at 9.30 DH has put him in the car for a drive (fingers x).

I made chicken curry and cauli rice for dinner but DH wasn't keen on the cauli rice which was a pain as i love it and it eliminates a lot of meals i want to cook.

Still felt hungry after dinner and had a bit of yogurt. So tired but know i have a horrible night ahead. Actually dreading going to bed. :(

This weekend is going to be hard as we are going to PILs Thurs-Weds. This will be very hard as they have boxes and boxes of chocs and biscuits which we usually fill up on as the food is, um, difficult. The whole situation is difficult as MIL is about to die, so i can't see DH bothering about what he eats - which of course is completely natural.

Apophenia · 27/01/2015 22:06

I asked very, very nicely yesterday but it's been missed, please can somebody add my weight to the tracker for this week, 165lbs. Thank you ThanksThanksThanks

costababe · 27/01/2015 22:08

Evening all!
So we couldn't be arsed to peel the prawns, so sausage, cauliflower cheese and mushrooms in a creamy cheesy sauce was served! Lovely!
Tomorrow will be spicy prawns on a bed of buttered spinach, I'm really looking forward to that already!
We are off to Antwerp on Thursday morning, the land of Diamonds and chocolatesShock for two nights, luckily with our LC friends.
Will do my very very best to stay strong BIWI, promise, I do think a teeny tiny bit of chocolate may accidently fall my way, though I will be looking for sugar free, honest, or very very dark.
Still have been strong today and will be again all day tomorrow, liking the scales being positive!
Hope those with restless sleepers manage a decent night!

imustbepatient · 27/01/2015 22:09

Evening all.

Felt like a good day today. I finally made it back to the gym to do my favourite Bodypump class, which I really enjoyed (although I'm aching already as it is my first one in about 6 weeks!).

I've been trying lots of the herbal tea recommendations from everyone, thank you! Some very yummy ones, I think I've had five different ones today!

B: two fried eggs with mayo
L: tuna and spring onion melt eaten with celery sticks and cucumber sticks, coffee with cream
S: pork scratchings
D: slow cooked belly pork (divine!) with mashed swede with butter and a little bit of left over leeks and asparagus from last night.

MrsK hope your DS went to bed like a little lamb!

imustbepatient · 27/01/2015 22:11

Whoops cross post MrsK! Sorry to hear that, glad your DH could come back to help. Sounds a hard few days ahead, best of luck (and pack lots of LC snacks if at all possible!)

costababe · 27/01/2015 22:12

Oh mrs Koala, sending you Flowers and carb freeCake. Your having a time of it at the moment.
Hope you manage some power naps at least tonight, I remember those nights DS2 didn't sleep through until he was 5, I was a walking zombie!
Sorry to hear about your MIL too, very difficult all round.

YoureMyWifeNowDave · 27/01/2015 22:12

I have added your weight to the spreadsheet Apophenia

ijustwanttobeme · 27/01/2015 22:26

Came in late tonight, as had school event.

So, while rest of family had chips with either: fish/chicken, I had wilted spinach with onions, green chillies, paprika and cumin, with an egg cooked on top. Delish.

Can I just ask about the mfp nutrition breakdown pie chart thingie. On average I gave been eating a total of 15.25 % carbs, 55% fat and the rest protein. Is that about right? I'm not calcing net carbs as such, just not eating them if possible.

Apophenia · 27/01/2015 22:28

Thank you yourmy sigh

Apophenia · 27/01/2015 22:28

That 'sigh' should be flowers?! Fat iPad fingers! ThanksThanksThanks

MrsKoala · 27/01/2015 23:06

Thanks for the kind thoughts - i'm just putting together a LC hamper of bits to take up. Peperamis, mini cheeses, plenty of eggs...um...what else? oh olives and gherkins...er

DH back with DS1 sleeping - phew!

ChippingInLatteLover · 28/01/2015 00:34

Koala

Sorry to hear about your MIL.

There are times when food is food, this might be one of those times for DH.

I'm not sure what normally happens re food when you're there, but could you offer to cook for everyone as MIL isn't up to it? You could add carbs for the others?

If not, push the food around a lot, eat the LC stuff and have a secret supply of avocados, almonds, long life meaty snacks (pepperoni, stuff that doesn't have to go in the fridge?!), tins of tuna etc. and some 'bits for the kids' in the fridge to sneak?

ChippingInLatteLover · 28/01/2015 00:35

Sorry, for some reason your msg wasn't there when I posted?!

Thumbwitch · 28/01/2015 00:59

MrsK - small tins of tuna would be a good thing to take in your hamper, ones with ringpull lids. And if you can get LC sausages, cook some of those before you go and take them cold. It's one of our staple things to take whenever we go on long car journeys away for the weekend.

LexLoofah · 28/01/2015 02:02

BIWI yes I am not ashamed of what I am doing and ready to defend it armed with my new found knowledge but I cannot stand attention of any kind, good or bad. DH literally has 3 or 4 people crowding round his lunchbox each day as they are endlessly fascinated by what I have packed for him and reportedly jealous although they do nothing about it and keep on eating Burger King, nachos and pizzas instead. I would absolutely hate that. Right, if I can ditch sugar I can do anything so will blaze a trail....

Mrs K laughing cow wedges don't need to be in the fridge, admittedly nicer If they have but might help you this weekend. Hopefully you can stash a bag of lc goodies in the fridge, perhaps along with 'stuff for the kids'.

ChippingInLatteLover · 28/01/2015 02:58

Lex. I think a gluten intolerance is a good idea and not a lie. I think humans are intolerant of gluten! I'd just take my own lunch as 'provided' salads have been reported to be quite variable and often full of carbs.

Thumbwitch · 28/01/2015 03:22

ijust - as you know, the MFP nutrition pie chart shows percentages of calories obtained from the macronutrients.
By reverse engineering (sort of!) the maths involved, it would appear that you are taking in about 21% of your actual macronutrients (not the calories) as carbs.
I don't know if that's considered too high, but given that we're supposedly aiming for things around the 3g/100g (so 3%) of carbs then I'd say it's likely to be too high - I expect BIWI knows the answer.
HTH, but I'll fully appreciate it might not! Smile

ijustwanttobeme · 28/01/2015 06:37

thumbwitch_ hmm, that's not good if it is too high. funny thing is though I'm sure I'm eating the right veg. So where are the pesky carbs coming from?

Will scrutinise labels of everything that passes my lips today. Ho hum.

Romeyroo · 28/01/2015 06:51

Hiya
MrsK I hope you got some sleep. Can you give nursery strict instructions that any afternoon sleep is a maximum time? It is hard when they are little and need a wee sleep but even now with DS (4), I say max 20 mins if it is after 2pm. Anything more and he would still be awake at 11pm. DD on the other hand didn't sleep at all and hardly at night either, so I feel your pain! These first few sleep deprived years are HARD, even without any other issues, are doing really well managing it all Flowers

Workwise I am quite lucky as I have my own office and the colleagues I work with know I am wheat and dairy free, so I just added in and no sugar too. One said, but is that not miserable?, to which I said no, I can still eat dark chocolate Grin. But these people are a bit like my extended family in the absence of a real one.

Bitchy, it was me who said about the caffeine; I have had a coffee just now and am going to buy decaf for the office. I am curious to see what happens now I don't have sugar crashes but I can't face going cold turkey.

Will post food later, need to get ready for work. Tape measure suggests waist and hips may be down to the next inch. Fingers crossed it is not a one off!

Have a good day everyone Smile

MontserratCaballe · 28/01/2015 07:00

My watch is on the tightest hole. Hurray!

Well done to everyone on a roll and Flowers to those who are struggling. I will try to pop on later for a proper catch up. Will read thread on the train.

Water, water, slosh, slosh. What did someone say on an earlier BC - no drinky water, no losey weight. Or something like that. [grin[

Laters.

MontserratCaballe · 28/01/2015 07:01

Sorry, Grin
