Evening everyone. I hope you're all ready, prepared and raring to go!

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness:

for you to enter your starting weight

Have a good look at the tabs at the bottom, as there you will find the rules, the list of allowed veg and lots of other really useful information.

I've also started the questions thread , so if you have anything you need to ask, that's the best place to ask it. The chat threads move really quickly in the first weeks, so this thread is the best place to ask your questions.

And this time around, I thought it might be useful to have a thread to post about good/interesting low carb products that you come across:

Here

Good luck!

Grin Miffy

blueberry there is a very good book that is regularly recommended on bootcamps that deals with the emotional side of things. But I can never remember what it is called. Hopefully someone will come mention the name, it is on the resource list of the bootcamp spread sheet.

RIght, i have just put carby twattery stuff into a machine to make itself as everyone needs a little kick up the arse around here today, especially as there are some very not fun tasks that need doing. In light of this I have broken out the real coffee in place of the usual instant and this is my motivator treat. When i have drunk this 1st cup (of a batch of 1 1/2 cups cos i made a small batch as it is a very old fashioned system of filter coffee making - think 70s funnel and jug and kettle set up) I am off to tidy the bombsite that is ds' room so that furniture can be moved to deal with a potential electrical fault. It is not something i want to do. ds' room is a nightmare. All that fucking lego that he loves. plus he is helping Hmm

Afternoon chaps,

had a couple of busy days running around and suffering from the cold, I've seemingly developed Raynaud's and chilblains this christmas. Even as I type this I'm kneeling infront of the radiator, and Ive got a 10k race in the morning and its going to be 1+ when I start Grin

Good to see everyone getting into the swing of it, I have to admit that I'd got very lax with myself over Christmas, and cutting out yogurt and some other bits peanut better has really focused me on my goals.

Yesterday
B BPC
D Streaky Pork Rasher, Swede mashed

Today
run-30
B. bacon, eggs mushrooms
L. Courgette & mince , Swede
D. Chicken curry

Fatstacks · 24/01/2015 16:54

Blimey PLHorse what you ate yesterday is what I would eat while I decided what to eat Grin
Are you doing 5:2 aswell?

thenightsky · 24/01/2015 17:19

Panicky moment today. Italian cafe for lunch and massive menu of pasta based stuff. Then, amazingly I noticed a starter on the specials board.... tuna and roast veg salad. the day was saved.

Doing the moussaka from the recipe thread for dinner tonight, with broccoli.

No wine, but I may have a small vodka and soda. Although, to be honest, I'm not that fussed about the vodka.

Not lost a single pound this week, but the jeans I wore today were baggy round the bum and my muffin top that was visible in the same jeans last saturday has all but disappeared! So weight the same, inch-age down by loads.

Pisseslikeahorse · 24/01/2015 17:21

No just a bad day on normal bootcamp. I got caught out in the middle of town and didn't want to make something fit. So held on until I'd done the shopping and got home. Must admit I buttered some marmite Grin as soon as I got through the door, chugged a few pints of water and the dinner was very big.

ijustwanttobeme · 24/01/2015 17:30

BIWI- I know I know, beat me with the stick, I deserve it. No excuses except that it part of the Saturday routine, when I first get round mum's. Won't make that mistake again, don't worry. Please tell me, that I havent set myself back completely?

I've been on my spinning bike three times this week- doing about half an hour each time. Plus despite the sub zero temperature I have been walking to work.

notso- I'm going to make myself have a small glass of water, each time I go to the sink. That should help me.

BIWI · 24/01/2015 17:30

So I'm facing one of the hardest challenges tonight. We've been invited to dinner at some friends. '"I'm doing Italian" was on the invitation.

I thought long and hard about what to say, but in the end - given that these are people I have known for more than 20 years - I emailed and apologised, said I was going to make life awkward, but that as I was low carbing it meant I couldn't eat pasta or rice.

It's really hard having to do that - but then I realised that

a) they are my friends, so hopefully will want to do something for me
b) if I was a vegetarian, I would be telling them, and would expect a veggie meal of sorts

So why not put forward my own requirements?

Still hard to do.

And I have absolutely no idea what will be served either - given that most people don't really understand low carbing! Grin

BIWI last time I did bootcamp I phoned my mum to tell her I was low carbing. When we arrived at her house for dinner on Saturday night she stated "Durham with you in mind, as I know you are low carbing, I've done rice AND wedges'

Erm thanks mum Grin

Pisseslikeahorse · 24/01/2015 17:42

well done BIWI.

are you going to take some backup snacks ?

BIWI · 24/01/2015 17:46

I'm going to snaffle something here just before we leave - some cheese probably. And because I'm driving, hopefully the water I'll be drinking will keep me full!

WireCat · 24/01/2015 17:53

I'm off for an Indian meal tonight. Gah.

Will not be having rice, bread or poppadoms.

Will have salmon tikka starter. Chicken tikka main course.

Am struggling for a side dish though.

Been ok today. Headache was getting bad so took 2 paracetamol.

Had creamy scrambled eggs with mushrooms for breakfast. Then was at hairdressers for hours (grey gone again!) so had some Brie.

Thumbwitch · 24/01/2015 18:00

BIWI - I have a few dietary restrictions even without low-carbing, but have always found my friends to be very accommodating so long as I am pretty precise in what I can have - telling them what I can't have (a MUCH shorter list, I hasten to add!) leaves them a bit "well wtf can you eat then?!" (Huge amounts of stuff, just not the "usual" dinnerparty type meals - no pasta (wheat), no tomato, no chicken, no pork). Throws them completely!

So I have an email that lists things I can eat (not exhaustive by any stretch of the imagination) and often end up taking my own GF pasta (or now, konjac pasta) with me.

As I say, so far everyone has been fine with it - and if they think I'm mad/daft or whatever, no one has yet seen fit to mention it Grin

Apophenia · 24/01/2015 18:34

Evening all. Still keeping on. Managed more than 2Ls of water with a fair few hours of the day left.

B- Coffee with cream.
L- Duck egg omelette with cheese and mushrooms
D- Chicken with olives and tomatoes, celeriac wedges.

I know I say it all the time, but I eat SO WELL, when I'm boot camping, I don't know why I ever end up falling off the wagon!!

LexLoofah · 24/01/2015 18:34

Mrsstevejones · 24/01/2015 19:00

So dinner wasnt what i had planned, so will do new recipe tomorrow. Was swimming with kiddies and we were all ravenous by the time we got in, so no time and i realised i didnt actually have lemon grass which was fairly essential in thai chicken with lemon grass and ginger!

Had burger and cheese on a bed of rocket (oily dressing and mayo) with lidl cheese coleslaw (3.8g/100g), left over cauli cheese, cucumber. Really yummy but feeling very full and a bit sick.

Need to increase water as a bit slack today.

Way, way too much dairy today so will remedy that.

BestIsWest · 24/01/2015 19:41

Well I am a whole stone lighter on my Mum's scales even wearing Jeans, wool jumper, scarf and sheepskin boots. So that's a relief.

B- eggs mashed w butter
L - Boursin wrapped in ham, small piece of Brie, salad leaves
D - Chicken curry with cauli flower, green peppers, cream and coconut milk

Costa coffee w cream,
1.5 litres water so far, tea.

Also, up thread in my green curry recipe I forgot lemon grass/lime

AttitcusFinchIsMyFather · 24/01/2015 19:47

D - Not hungry, so just ate a huge piece of crackling from the roast pork

readyforno2 · 24/01/2015 19:49

lurkingmurking · 24/01/2015 20:00

Oh my god!
Marscarpone and double cream. I put a wee squeeze of lemon juice in too. Delicious. Thanks to whoever posted this earlier!

imustbepatient · 24/01/2015 21:07

Just to report back from my earlier post, I survived the family gathering intact! My coffee with cream gave me something nice to drink instead of the wine (I even managed to turn down some of the bottle of vintage port that was opened!)

My lovely SIL made a chicken and chorizo casserole with peppers, sugar snap peas and served lots of broccoli on the side. I just avoided the potatoes and carrots. Then cheese for after, which all filled me up nicely. And at least I won't have a slight hangover tomorrow like I normally would.

It probably won't always feel so easy to swerve the alcohol, but I'm so glad I didn't struggle today. Makes me feel I can really do this.
