Evening everyone. I hope you're all ready, prepared and raring to go!

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness:

for you to enter your starting weight

Have a good look at the tabs at the bottom, as there you will find the rules, the list of allowed veg and lots of other really useful information.

I've also started the questions thread , so if you have anything you need to ask, that's the best place to ask it. The chat threads move really quickly in the first weeks, so this thread is the best place to ask your questions.

And this time around, I thought it might be useful to have a thread to post about good/interesting low carb products that you come across:

Here

Good luck!

Morning losers!

Managed to avoid the sugar-buffet yesterday morning at work, contenting myself with a cup of coffee and a couple of glasses of water. Didn't even crack when the left overs were shared around the office afterwards!

Lunch was roast chicken slices, celery, babybels and some greek yoghurt. More water.

Dinner was a bit rubbish as I'd had to rush back from work and then out to my choir, so wasn't back until 9pm. Had a few lumps of cheese and some pate, a cup of tea and more water. Not hungry though, which is good. I do lose my appetite quickly with LC, it's great!

I definitely need some more veg - am craving a tray of roasted broccoli, which I guess if better than craving chocolate! Will have some tonight with beanless, rice less chilli, I think.

Stomach is definitely less bloated and have more energy already - hurrah!

PseudoBadger · 21/01/2015 06:59

Morning all, I'm feeling great so far. On the tube now, had scrambled eggs with crispy bacon at 5.50 so I'm all set up for work, with a Total snack/lunch at about 10.30.

sassandfaff · 21/01/2015 07:07

Morning.

Have managed to skim read quickly before dc's get up.

Yesterday.
B- 3 boiled eggs
L- broccoli & brie soup with tuna salad
D- cauliflower pancetta mash with homemade veg chilli. (Leeks green peppers, courgette, aubergine and 2 red peppers- did make about 6 servings so I figured it wasnt too bad)
S- olives and the 0.3g salami.

I love love love the liquorice tea. It is soooo sweet. Everyone else hates it though, so it might be an acquired taste.

Well, I must have finally got this energy that everyone talks about, because I absolutely powered through yesterday.

Tidied the whole house.
Took 2 bags to the charity shop
Took a car load to the tip.
Did some food shopping.
Cooked said chilli and cauli mash.
Cooked meatballs and spaghetti (kids)
Usual washer and dryer load.
Washed all the pots that wouldn't fit in the dish washer. instead of leaving them for the next load

Happy sass Smile

MrsKoala the tea is by Twinnings, I am sipping a cup right now :) It tastes a bit like Murray mints. www.twinings.co.uk/tea/fruit-herbal/intensely-buttermint

Morning everyone! Glad to see everyone seems to be doing so well so far!

Just a word about:

weighing

Our official weigh-in is Monday, so that's all you need to do. However, I know that some of us (me included) are daily weighers.

Some people seem to be weighing more than once a day - which is pointless. Once you've eaten/drunk anything, you're simply adding that to your total, so why do it to yourself? Grin

I weigh daily because it keeps me on track. It's more of a psychological 'marker' for me to keep on track.

BUT

Your body weight fluctuates naturally. And so you have to be used to the idea that some days, for no apparent reason, the scales might show a gain.

It's fab to see weight going down daily, but it can be hard to see it go up. Especially if you know you have kept to the plan. That can result in one of the most unfathomable behaviours that happens on dies - the 'oh fuck it' frame of mind.

The thinking goes:

"Oh fuck it. I've been working hard, depriving myself of [insert choice of carby food here] and it's not working. I may as well go and eat a [insert other kind of carby choice]"

Which is entirely pointless and a totally self-fulfilling prophecy!

So if you know you're likely to have this kind of self-sabotage mind set, try and avoid weighing daily.

If you want to weigh daily but are worried about this kind of thing happening to you, one other tip is to take each result and either take the lowest reading for the week as your 'official' weight on Monday, or work out your average reading for the week.

Good morning :-)Grin
Feeling a bit wobbly here, in the physical sense, not the falling off the wagon sense! Pretty normal for me on day 3.
I'm 2lb down already which is a great motivator.
B-bacon eggs tomato
L-chicken & avocado salad
D-leftover cauli mash with chicken and salad
No snacks

Gallons of water
Have a great day!

BIWI · 21/01/2015 07:40

Keep up the salt, TurnOver!

Am having a day at home today and DS is at the childminder. I have a BIG list if stuff to do, so hoping for that energy zap to see me through. sass you can be my inspiration!

Put on a pair of jeans this morning that have been slightly loose. They fell off my hips! Shock definitely less bloated.

One thing I intend to do today is batch cook for the freezer. I really need to make better friends with my slow cooker too, as I have made some very successful things but don't use it nearly enough.

I am looking forward to making myself a really nice lunch. I was going to have soup, but I have a shop coming so the possibilities are endless!

lavenderhoney · 21/01/2015 07:42

BIWI - your post about weighing was timely as I weighed myself this morning and I've put on half a stone!! since Monday weigh in!

ElectraCute · 21/01/2015 07:46

Yeah, I appear to have put on 4 pounds since Monday too Hmm but am ignoring it. Much better, imo, to go by how you look and feel, and how clothes fit, anyway! it was probably the flourless chocolate brownie

sass, I love the liquorice tea too. It actually hits the spot when the sugar cravings come calling. I tried the salted caramel and was most disappointed, but might give the butter mint one a try.

Pleaseandthankyou · 21/01/2015 07:49

Some delicious menus on here. Reading for inspiration. hunger is not an issue but I still just want to pick at something in the evenings. Trying to avoid most cheese for the first few weeks.

AttitcusFinchIsMyFather · 21/01/2015 08:02

I really don't like the liquorice tea :(

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 21/01/2015 08:08

Cant recommend highly enogh the happy scale app. It works out your 'real' weight from the inputted weights. If you look at mine, you can see that my highest weights have been totally discounted :)

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 21/01/2015 08:12

And its free!!

B - coffee with cream, 2 cheese, onion and pork sausages, buttered scrambled egg

sassandfaff · 21/01/2015 08:13

atticus I will give the buttermint a go, when I find it. It isn't in my local asda. Where do you get it?

Grinch I have been lcing since 1st Jan, so it took a while!

I'm going to hoover the house today and clean the bathrooms and then I'm going to finish off the scarf for dd2. Smile

I may even iron......

imustbepatient · 21/01/2015 08:14

Morning all. Off to a good start today despite jet lagged DCs waking me up throughout the night. I still fitted in breakfast of two eggs fried in butter served with a dollop of Mayo.

And I even remembered to grab the leftover belly pork to have with salad for lunch. Yum.

AttitcusFinchIsMyFather · 21/01/2015 08:23

Sass, I got mine in Morrisons but my Tesco has it too.

sassandfaff · 21/01/2015 08:35

Thanks atticus I used to love murrary mints they were the only mints I liked.

I should add for all those thinking yuk. I hate liquorice, I do too. It tastes nothing like liquorice. It's liquorice root. Dd1 and dp think it tastes like trees/earthy etc. I think it tastes quite subtle and then a really yummy sweetness hits you.

RandomHouseRules · 21/01/2015 08:36

Morning losers Grin

I am low on energy this morning, not sure why. Thirsty too so will focus on drinking more water.

Plan for today

b: have had 2 egg, spinach, mushroom muffins. With extra mayo.
L: i have a mix of things in my lunchbox like avocado, chicken, cheese, salad and some bacon bits - also to snack on if required.
D: chicken with a pesto crust and various Lc roast veg and Mayo

Naughtily weighed myself and am 4lb down since Monday. I know it won't continue like that but it is v motivating nonetheless. Grin

sassandfaff · 21/01/2015 08:40

I've not eaten yet, but I have made 3 different breakfasts this morning, took dd1 to the school bus stop and had a shower while the youngest were eating. School and nursery run now and then it will be eggs and bacon I think.

I may call at sainsburys for some yummy olives and look for the buttermilk tea.

Is practically a pack of olives a day OK? Confused
I'm pretty sure it's where my new found energy comes from anyway.

Sorelip · 21/01/2015 08:48

I need to have a little rant. I cooked roast chicken and cauliflower cheese for dinner last night, got the cauliflower cheese done before DH got home so that I could leave him with the job of taking out the chicken while I was at the gym and he could feed the kids and himself. I ran 10k on the treadmill and the only thing that got me through the last 5k was the thought of the wonderful dinner waiting for me. I get home and what's this? DH has somehow cremated the cauliflower cheese. Even though it was already cooked and just needed to be eaten. Ffs. Ruined dinner. So last night I ate chicken and pepperamis. And then had a fucking terrible sleep because ds2 is ill, same as the night before.

Food has been bloody lovely. DH is also on board and lost 6lb last week! Lucky sod. I can't lose that fast anymore, not since my thyroid jacked in it's job.

lurkingmurking · 21/01/2015 08:49

Morning all!

Awful night with DS2 and I am missing my latte but have purchased cream to keep in the work fridge so will not succumb to Starbucks!

Had to rush out of the house this morning but am feel very smug that I had some egg muffins ready so grabbed a couple of those - they are so yummy reheated.

PLan for today is:

B: 2 egg muffins (courgette, mushroom, mozzarella), coffee with cream, bit of salt beef
L: Sashimi
D: Salmon ramen with no noodles
S (if needed): prawn mayo, cheese sticks, salt beef

lurkingmurking · 21/01/2015 08:50

sorelip I think I would have cried. Well done on your 10k though!

BitchyTakesOnManagement · 21/01/2015 08:52

A very timely post from BIWI i jumped on the scales this morning. thankfully it has given me peace of mind but it would have annoyed me and irratated me if it had gone up. Lost the carby twattery weekend weight. Won't be standing on the scales until Monday now. Blush

MrsKoala · 21/01/2015 09:03

Morning all.

Feeling tired today. DS2 is waking every hour and DS1 had a few nightmares and was up at 6 (i think his mind is processing nursery) :( . I feel ravenous - which i always do when tired. I've had a 3 egg, spinach and cheese omelette and 3 glasses of water and a cup of tea and i am still starving.

Mum and Dad are coming for the weekend and they don't LC so i am wondering what i can feed us all. They wouldn't eat Cauli or Swede and would just about tolerate Celeriac for one meal. I would be happy to do them spuds and me and dh just not have them, but dh wouldn't cope and would eat them too (no willpower at all). Any suggestions welcome. :)
