Evening everyone. I hope you're all ready, prepared and raring to go!

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness:

for you to enter your starting weight

Have a good look at the tabs at the bottom, as there you will find the rules, the list of allowed veg and lots of other really useful information.

I've also started the questions thread , so if you have anything you need to ask, that's the best place to ask it. The chat threads move really quickly in the first weeks, so this thread is the best place to ask your questions.

And this time around, I thought it might be useful to have a thread to post about good/interesting low carb products that you come across:

Here

Good luck!

Off to bed now to watch TV with a lovely buttermint tea, it is so yummy and tasty!

Romeyroo · 20/01/2015 20:48

So, fewer eggs today, but I think sadly I am realising that kale does not agree with me. It gives me stomach ache, so no more kale crisps for meSad

B: in a rush, three slices of cheese wrapped in Parma ham
L: chicken slices, cucumber, 2 hard boiled eggs, with mayo
D: salmon, roasted courgette and kale

I have also had a square of dark chocolate and lots of water. Too much coffee, so need to knock that on the head.

imustbepatient · 20/01/2015 20:48

There is some amazing sounding food on everyone's menus! Very inspirational thank you.

I've just got back from holiday and have put my starting weight on the spreadsheet (208 - gulp).

I'm feeling so excited and motivated about this BC though and know I will be under 200 before too long and charging my way towards my goal weight.

Anyway, today has been:

B: bacon and fried eggs and mushrooms (with mayo)
L: 2 egg omelette with ham, cheese, green pepper and olives
D: slow roasted pork belly with swede mashed with butter and steamed broccoli (with more Mayo)

I love this WOE! Grin. Now I just have to get through the jet lag... Why do I have the feeling that the jet lag will segue nicely into carb flu?!

MrsKoala · 20/01/2015 20:50

Oh i don't know that area antimatter . I grew up in Chiswick near the Thames, then lived near it in Isle of Dogs/Greenwich too. I worked at Millbank and Bankside and my offices overlooked the River - i used to get the boat to meetings - I miss the Thames. :(

Those Noodles do look good Atticus . I think i may splash out on some carb free treats like that. I like the sound of your Buttermint tea too - which brand is it?

Romeyroo · 20/01/2015 20:51

Oh and some plain soya yogurt, that was a bit mindless, I was trying to wait to have lunch and only meant to eat a few spoonfuls. Then I realised I was still shovelling it in when I was concentrating on reading something.

I have added a half hour walk into my day, that is the best I can do for exercise

MassaAttack · 20/01/2015 21:06

Chicken pieces marinated in lemon juice, garlic (lots), smoked paprika, salt & pepper and ground cumin and coriander. Pour over some olive oil, roast for a bit. Served with a ton side of broccoli.

The non low-carbers had the same, with chipped taters which roasted alongside the chicken.

nowitsenough · 20/01/2015 21:07

My plans for dinner changed, as I didn't fancy chilli, so made a sort of cottage pie with mashed swede instead of potato, does that sounds OK?

I got the munchies this afternoon, so had some cold chicken tikka pieces and a couple of slices of salami and some coleslaw. At least it's better than toast or biscuits Blush

yongnian · 20/01/2015 21:17

Here's me:
B: ff total dbl cream coconut oil and dab whole earth peanut butter
S: pork scratchings
L: lamb cutlets fried in butter thyme and garlic with rocket and xtra v o oil coleslaw and red wine vinegar and anchovy stuffed olives
S: small handful smoked salted almonds
D: steak fried in garlic butter with mushrooms and creamy pepper sauce, cauliflower cheese and rocket with xtra v o oil
W: 2.5 ltr approx
E: post natal dvd workout medium level

Have v much appreciated the extra fat content today in combatting the cold. Trying to really ramp up the fat to quash any remaining sugar cravings?

Oo so glad to be back on bc (lite for me)

Hobbes8 · 20/01/2015 21:31

More of the same today:
B - scrambled eggs in butter with leeks and mushrooms
L - salad with tuna mayo
D - stir fry beef, kale and mushrooms with chili and lime
S - cream and cinnamon

Almahart · 20/01/2015 21:31

So my day was

B Avocado, hard boiled egg, mayo and celery
L braised beef, salad
Snack a bag of pork scratchings and a babybel
D avocado, egg, tuna and rocket salad with Mayo

Lots of water, three cups of coffee (two black). Is that too much coffee?

Notso · 20/01/2015 21:49

Not felt snacky at all today.

I had a bit of yoghurt and coconut cream this morning.
Pork steak with coleslaw for lunch,
Crispy kale which I loved, I am was a crisp fiend, with chicken and bean sprouts.
Tablespoon of whipped cream with vanilla.
I've drunk loads of water but also probably a bit too much tea with milk.

RandomHouseRules · 20/01/2015 21:54

Evening everybody. I am rubbish at responding to specific posts but I read them all and enjoy seeing what everyone else is eating. Oh and I am lucky enough to live near the Thames - albeit a much more built up/industrial bit - I will try and put more walking along it into my week, so thanks for inspiring me with that. On working days I am based on europe's most polluted road apparently, so walking isn't pleasant!

I had little egg and spinach muffins for breakfast, as posted by someone up thread. Lovely and a hit with DH too. I made a big batch yesterday, enough for 6 days (have frozen some) and then preheated a couple this morning.

Lunch a bit of a disaster as left my packed lunch at home, then ended up at a meeting with sandwiches served but managed to hold out and had some cheese, chicken and lettuce from M&S after.

Dinner was great though: haddock cooked in cream, with crunchy french beans and a little garlic, served with a veg mix of yellow peppers and babycorn. I think the yellow pepper may be a bit on the carby side but there wasn't a lot.

Not enough water but I really am trying and I already feel (and look) much less bloated than I did post Xmas. Also I have discovered that cutting out booze (I normally have a glass of wine most evenings) means I don't have to go for a wee in the middle of the night (even with all the extra water). This is a bit of a revelation to me Blush

Mrsstevejones · 20/01/2015 22:06

I am doing loads of cooking - sigh - but i am trying to be organised so that i can always have lots of suitable food on hand. I never seem to be out of the kitchen at the mo but not hungry and jeans already feel a bit looser but could be imagining that !!

Palooza · 20/01/2015 22:08

I made a big frittata-thing with asparagus, feta and eggs to cool and slice for snacks but I put flax in it and think I put too much in - I like the more substantial texture but it has tipped over into being a bit bready and weird. Still at least it's filling!

BIWI · 20/01/2015 22:13

Evening all!

I had a lovely lunch today, again trying to make use of the microwave. It was so cold I really didn't fancy cold meat and salad!

So I bought a pack of parma ham (5 slices), a ball of mozzarella and some spinach.

I microwaved half the bag of spinach in butter, first, and while this was cooling, I lay 3 slices of the ham on a plate, slightly overlapping, then sliced the mozzarella up and lay it on top of the ham. I added a large teaspoon of pesto (which I had in the fridge at work) and spread it over the top of the mozzarella. I put the spinach on top of that and seasoned it with salt and pepper, and then laid the remaining two slices of ham on top, and then microwaved it for a minute and a half.

Lovely!

Well done RandomHouseRules for not submitting to the sandwiches! I've just been to an evening meeting swimming in chocolate biscuits and I resisted, quite easily actually. It's harder if you're hungry of course.

Good luck tomorrow everyone!

RandomHouseRules · 20/01/2015 22:16

Is pesto ok BIWI? I had ruled out because of no nuts rule. Would love to be able to coat my chicken with some tmrw if allowed!

BIWI · 20/01/2015 22:20

I suppose strictly speaking it shouldn't be allowed, but I doubt there will be many nuts in a teaspoon of the stuff. Just check the carb count on the back of the jar!

OP posts:
BIWI · 20/01/2015 22:21

Have just checked, and the Sainsbury one that I have is 3.2g per 100g, so I'd say it's allowed Grin

RandomHouseRules · 20/01/2015 22:52

Yay. I hate counting things as I can get a bit obsessive so tend to try to stick to 'in' or 'out'. So I will say that one tspn for coating is in! Thank you.

BIWI · 20/01/2015 23:06

I hate counting, and can't bear it when food/calories, etc, becomes an obsession - which was the whole thinking about Bootcamp in the first place!

OP posts:
ijustwanttobeme · 20/01/2015 23:07

I'm checking in with my food intake, as like furfox, it might help keep me on the straight and narrow.

B: Turkey slices and cheese, plus coffee with cream
L: chicken breast with skin, salad, olives and jalapeños
D: huge Greek salad, (plus a couple of tbspns of DP's tuna mayo with peppers, onion - did have sweet corn but ate only few)
S: a baby bel

Still not consuming enough water, so might download a reminder app.

miffy49 · 21/01/2015 00:21

I wondered about pesto after I put a blob on some salmon. It was so nice it felt wrong! Grin

If you look for the Taste the Difference one Biwi its only 1.6gr in 100gr.

Fatstacks · 21/01/2015 03:04

Up for my second wee, browsed the fridge as usual but chose edam instead of the kitkat two kitkats and a chomp I would normally have Smile

When I get used to the water drinking I'm intending to stop the middle of the night supply runs.
It's even bad for the dog because he wakes up and goes to pee, calling at the cats biscuits on his way back Blush

ChesterDrawers · 21/01/2015 06:26

Morning, hope everyone is raring to go for day three. I'm feeling good and seem to have dodged any signs of carb flu thus far.

Working from home today which is always tricky, somehow it's so much easier when I have to eat in front of colleagues.

Plan is:

B: eggs scrambled, fried mushrooms, ghee
L: prawn, avocado, garlic mayo, salad leaves
D: slow cooker chicks in toms (third of tin), leeks courgette, mushrooms, cauli rice
S if needed: BPC, kale crisps

Going out for a run later too and will walk the dog at lunch.
