Wow! So much nattering that we've filled up the thread before the end of the week!

Here's the link to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for tomorrow morning.

And, for the Weight Tracker I'm not quite sure what happens with this link I think that you will be asked to enter your weight for this week and then you will see your individual graph.

I hope you all had a good week last week, and very good luck for week 2.

I'll have to work a bit harder at separating our food out, I think. His intake is pretty variable, which is why it comes off my plate as opposed to being given his own portion, but I could just give him a larger portion and then take back what he refuses to eat.

BIWI · 20/01/2014 14:36

giraffes I'm sorry you're not impressed by us having our own section Sad

The reason for it is two-fold - first, we can keep all our Bootcamp threads in the same place.

And second, and perhaps more importantly, there are a lot of people on MN who do low carb but who don't follow Bootcamp. And there was a fair bit of irritation that Bootcamp (and me) seemed to be taking low carb over - as if there was no other way to low carb other than Bootcamp.

And, of course, MNHQ have created our lovely new area as well - where all the rules are kept, along with the veg carb counter and the Weight Tracker.

The weight tracker graph will appear from next week, by the way, as it plots changes from one week to the next, so this week there would be only one point of data to show.

I've added myself back to the spreadsheet, as I appear to have disappeared after last week! Don't know why, hope I don't disappear again. :(

Oh sorry Biwi, didn't mean to be rude, didn't realise anyone thought you were taking over. It's not really that I am not impressed, just found it easier before having all the low carb in one place.

BIWI · 20/01/2014 15:43

No - I didn't think you were being rude!

The threads are still all in the same place though - they're all in Weight Loss.

We did a survey recently of people who had been involved in Bootcamp, around 100 people, and it was one of the findings from that. And if people who had done Bootcamp were irritated by it, you can be sure that non-Bootcampers were probably frothing about me!

Can't please everyone Biwi! I guess maybe I should see if I can change my settings or something Smile

heliumheart · 20/01/2014 15:58

Anyone have any good cheese-sauce-for-lasagna suggestions? I have double cream, cheddar, grated mozzarella, a small amount of cream cheese.

Am attempting the use of blanched sheets of leeks in lieu of pasta...

Hi All,

I'm so happy with my weightloss this week - 5.5lbs! I was doing 5:2 for ages, and I just wasn't seeing significant results.
I managed to stick to low carbing over the weekend which I'm really proud of. We were at 2 family parties where there was so much food. And the deserts.... you should have seen the deserts!

I have a question though, if someone can explain to me. The low carbing that we are doing now, we keep doing this for 10 weeks, or is it 2 weeks on this part and then 8 weeks on the bootcamp light?
Is there a point where we start introducing small amounts of carb?
I'm happy keeping to this to be honest, I feel great!

Afternoon BIWI, afternoon evvvvveryone :)

WillieWaggledagger · 20/01/2014 16:51

that is interesting BIWI

i can't get on board with chia seeds i have to say, they look like frogspawn (no idea of carb content either)

mirpuppet · 20/01/2014 16:58

After my oopsie bashing on Saturday mine actually could hold a burger and be a bread substitute after 2 days in plastic in the fridge. See picture. Still didn't taste of much but I can see why some people make them.

giraffeseatpineapples · 20/01/2014 16:58

Weird how kale is so popular now but Tesco do a verrry convenient washed and chopped kale!

Giving up wheat seems to be the quickest weightloss fix for me but only about 7lb then I need to work harder for the rest.

CalamityKate · 20/01/2014 17:01

OK I'm a bit pissed off about not losing any more yet....but at least the foods bloody delicious!

B - rasher of bacon and an egg, fried in butter
L - sort of missed. Did get hungry but was out and sort of went past hungry so....
Late afternoon snack - couple of tbsps pf ff yogurt with about 5 walnut halves
D - bed of salad leaves, with a mishmash of: chopped chicken fried in loads of butter and a little garlic butter; half a tsp wholegrain mustard; a tsp of Philly; and some Parmesan at the end to go all mushy round the buttery chicken.

I almost licked the plate Blush

Mmmmm, Calamity, that sounds lush. I'd forgotten the delights of melted Philly.

QQ - I'm guessing it was the hazelnuts I reacted to, but have booked a doctor's appointment to look into allergy testing. I'm not going through that again.

Or maybe I've developed some weird and extreme carb-intolerance after a couple of weeks off? Wink

GermanGirlinLDN · 20/01/2014 17:17

I have sugar cravings. Really bad sugar cravings. Sitting in front of zhe

GermanGirlinLDN · 20/01/2014 17:20

Sent to early. Sitting in front of the TV now and trying to get my mind of food.

LittleMissDisorganized · 20/01/2014 17:25

GermanGirl can you do something nice for yourself instead, maybe a coffee and cream and paint your nails, or a bath (no idea if you have DC making this very difficult!!), clean your teeth (most things taste vile after toothpaste so it would spoil it), and imagine your own disappointment tomorrow....

heliumheart · 20/01/2014 17:37

Food today has been a bit odd; I've been in an odd mood and not feeling focussed or together.

B - creamy coffees, Total yog with orange / cream
L - just could not work up the enthusiasm
early D - unbelievably indulgent-feeling lasagne

Lots of water. X

BIWI · 20/01/2014 17:38

Calamity - are you on week 3? If not, why are you eating nuts?

If you are in week 3, this will also be behind the low weight loss. It's very, very common in weeks 3, 4 and/or 5 for weight loss to slow/stop and sometimes even reverse.

Once you get through this, though, it will carry on as 'normal' - what will become the new normal - a weekly rate of around 1-2lbs.

I dunno.... I don't think I'm following BC am I?? I just sort of drifted into LCing.

I'm a bit confused about a few things really - Dr B says nuts are an ok snack...and that it isn't strictly necessary to go into ketosis in order to lose weight.... A few things I've noticed that are different to rules I've read elsewhere.

I'm finding it more and more confusing and disheartening tbh.
