SingleMum01 · 22/11/2009 16:57

Any online dating success stories or are they all full of blokes just after one thing or are there any genuine ones out there?

I feel like I'd start to get out there again, but don't go out much to meet anyone - and the ones I meet are all after one thing.

Where can I find an honest bloke?

Tell me some success stories!

thesouthsbelle · 22/11/2009 16:58

lol. you missed that then lou I meant to come here!

rather you than me going out in this weather. i'm going to be stopping in watching the x factor.

electra · 22/11/2009 17:04

I am not sure how to change myself into a normal, healthy human being

I've been on a few dates with a really nice guy - is very good looking (looks like a model imo) and nice person, etc.

But I feel like I need to run. I don't feel comfortable with a guy unless there is something really strange or seemingly inadequate about him. There is something wrong with me. Dd3's dad who was a drug addict and arguably not a nice person, I fell completely in love with and couldn't stay away. I knew it was bad for me but I became addicted to that situation.

Sorry just venting.

lou33 · 22/11/2009 18:06

i dont think you are alone wrt that electra

belle, i knew wym, i was asking if 30 miles was counted as long distance in case he would travel to you lol

there have been some success stories from online dating on this thread single

Betty79 · 22/11/2009 18:31

lou-hope the drive isnt too bad

belle-I know u really want things to work with gb and i really hope for ur sake it does, but he def had enough chances before!

asbm-hope u have fun with irish

Hi to everyone else Ive missed

Janos · 22/11/2009 18:49

Wow lou, fantastic outfit. You look like a sexy school teacher . Phoooer missus.

eve - the legs thing, always the way isn't it? I've had invites and turned them down because I haven't shaved for a few days.

belle - it's your choice but IMO you are nuts continuing contact with this guy. And lou is right, if he really wanted to sort things out he'd be jumping through hoops to prove it.

Juicy - you must be some hot stuff, woman! God I dunno where you get the energy from but good luck to ya, I say.

I have some minor news but no biggie - still in the middle of organising move (yuck - but short term stress for long term gain I reckon).

Been texted by exbf, wanting to know why I wasn't speaking to him. Hmmm, dunno why do YOU think? Nothing since.

Also had some fun with CM this morning which has done me the world of good. I don't want a boyfriend atm but it was nice getting back in the saddle so to speak and has given my confidence a wee boost.

Janos · 22/11/2009 18:51

Hi singlemum, yes there have been some success stories on thread. It's just like any way of meeting someone, online dating - it can be hit or miss.

aseriouslyblondemoment · 22/11/2009 19:50

betty think you mean juicy!
my bloke is def english lol

omg had forgotten the fanny rat

Betty79 · 22/11/2009 19:53

oops sorry yeah got mixed up lol

too much to catch up on, that's my excuse anyway!

Janos · 22/11/2009 20:11

Hey asbm!

How are you and your lovely gang?

LOL @ fanny rat. Yeah, he never really went away. I have warmed to him quite a lot, but there's something about him that makes me very wary.

Don't worry betty I often get names mixed up. Mind you with me it's a sign of encroaching old age

Remotew · 22/11/2009 21:52

Lou, you looked fab for erotica. Very domineering.

Didn't see the pic of batman. I've lost track as to who he is.

Had a horrid hangover all day so been sleeping. Was going to start packing as well.

aseriouslyblondemoment · 22/11/2009 22:10

yeah we're all good ta,will catch up in the week
ohhh king fanny rat rofl guess we have to give him top marks for trying and hell is he a tryer that one..!!
eve hope you're ok in your neck of the woods?and how on earth could you have forgotten batman
lou did you brief eve properly about him?

Janos · 22/11/2009 22:37

Sending soothing hangover sorting type vibes to you eve.

Glad to hear it asbm. And I'll hold you to that catch up

Had an interesting convo with FR too. I was having a good moan rant about XP - can't remember how we got on the subject.

Anyway FR said give a name and a phone number and I'll sort him out!

I think he would too, but I politely declined. Not that he doesn't deserve it but..nope.

aseriouslyblondemoment · 22/11/2009 23:17

ohh there's a queue for your ex janos and to be fair it's only right that you're at the front followed by your mum..
am still rofl tho at him having the nerve to get in touch again..jeeze..you couldn't write it really could you?!
but then again he is king fanny rat

Janos · 23/11/2009 09:13

ROFL asbm, yep he's persistent all right. I must admit, there's something flattering about being pursued, and he has his charms, but most def NOT relationship material.

Yeah, I told my mum about the sorting out convo, she said same....tell him to get in the queue!

lou33 · 23/11/2009 12:44

hello and good morning

the drive to lb was dry but omg the wind!

anyway i got there ok, and had a very lovely time, marred slightly by my period starting yesterday morning, but it wasnt too much of a problem

we had some wine and watched a film, etc and overslept this morning by an hour and a bit, but he didnt seem to mind

the drive back was rainy and rather shit, then i walked into the house to find myself bleeding onto the kitchen floor and the boys had not been taken to school by exh (i got back after 10), and not even ready for me to take them, as it was too rainy to walk them he said

he sat on his fat backside on the laptop whilst i dashed about getting them ready at the same time trying to sort myself out wrt bleeding

i dropped kids in then ended up faffing about for him, i ended up having a couple of disagreements with him, which i wont go into now, because it will raise my blood pressure too much

an hour after changing my super plus tampon i was finally driving home to mine after dropping off the ex and started bleeding onto the car seat, so had to pull over and grab tissues and something to sit on to get the rest of the way home, and when i got back it got even worse

i am really dizzy from tiredness and the bleeding i think, i will have to go back to the doc again about it (he said if it happened again he would take action)

tmi probably, but basically we had a really good evening but today hasnt been great, and i think i left my fave shoes at lb's

i need to get my head down for a bit after driving pretty much since 8.15 this morning
