Mumsnet? why are men encouraged to post on here?

Is this Mumsnet (a board for Mums)? If so, why do you allow men to post on here? Why can't they contribute to their own discussion boards.

men are parents too, and often you get a dad posting to ask about supporting his partner through birth and breastfeeding etc..

there is a section on here called 'dadsnet'

and many dads take over the traditinal mum role anyway,either as sahd or lone parent

they still have parenting problems and come here same reaso as we do

Where to stay at home dads go? Surely they often have the same issues in life.

no, just keep it as Mum's net. dad's can make their own site called Dad's net. why do we allow them on here. come on mum's - take control...... this is our space

I know of at least one man that posts on this website who has been a lone parent for quite some time. There are also men who work with children (at least one male nanny) and also fathers/husbands who want to help support their wifes in parenting their children.

It's for parents by parents.

there are so many positives on MN,why not try looking for those rather than demanding that men are banned??

In the past 2 weeks I have advised 2 Dads to have a look at Mumsnet

They both said it was interesting (and scary )

It never crossed my mind you had to be female to be a parent and like mumsnet

this is Mum's net. I was a mum, now a nan. not a dad. call it parent's net if it is for both parties. Don't mislead us committed mum's / grannies. Go to mothercare and find the men with their nappies in hand ready to do the 2am and 4am feeds. send them to their own site or change this one to PARENT'S NET There are thousands of lone parents who have no help from their ex. My daughter is one of them. Mum's net for MUM's......
