Is this Mumsnet (a board for Mums)? If so, why do you allow men to post on here? Why can't they contribute to their own discussion boards.

Keep on repeating 'I was a mum, now a nan. not a dad.'.
It has a good beat.

I am starting to warm to this poster.

Mamazon · 30/09/2009 22:22

I wonder how you could police Mumsnet?

Perhaps we will all have to send in pictures of our lady bits with our username and password tattoed on to ensure anuthenticity?

No really, I am sure it would catch on...

so he posed as a man??/ so bloody what? its expected on an annonymous forum.

i'm a lone parent and being dragged to court by my ex,who tried to kill me. he is still trying for contact though,so i'm enjoying the ride, cos he wont get any. but its funny watching him ruin whats left of his life.

lighten up!!

OurLadyOfPerpetualSupper · 30/09/2009 22:23

If you want it to be mum-apostrophe-s-net I'm sure you could set up your very own site with that name.

I'm sticking to mumsnet.

HeadFairy · 30/09/2009 22:23

op - how on earth do you make sure that no men register with feminine sounding names? Do we have to submit a dna test before we can register? Even if you banned men, there's no way to stop them, so might as well embrace them!

Habbibu · 30/09/2009 22:24

"my daughter's ex has posted on here (as a woman).", Well, how on earth would you police that? A DNA test before registration? Poor Caster Semenya's case has shown it's not that simple...

vonstingerrrr · 30/09/2009 22:24

sleepwhenidie - not a mad old troll.... read your posts.

LADYFOOF - This is an inclusive, welcoming site, that's why. Mums here are friendly and happy to talk to anyone. Except for you, you can just fuck off. no, I won't. I am a mum and a grandmum.

"my daughter's ex has posted on here (as a woman)" - I don;t mean to be dim but how would telling men to fuck off somewhere else stop that.

The internet is public. No-one has devised a gender test which can be applied through a kew board yet.

Maybe it isn;t me being dim...

LaurieFairyCake · 30/09/2009 22:25

no one has 'different issues' because of their sex

perchance you could ambulate back to the dark ages?

Oh there are my apostrophes. I've been looking for them everywhere. They have a habit of getting into places they shouldn't. Like men you see. Infiltrating forums meant only for the fairer sex.

Habbibu · 30/09/2009 22:26

"Mums here are friendly and happy to talk to anyone." Including men! Anyway, what about the childless women on here?

LadyFoof · 30/09/2009 22:26

Well nor will the dad's here, so you'll have to put up or shut up. Unless you own the site.

LadyFoof · 30/09/2009 22:26

Habbibu, I think she was quoting me, if it makes it clearer...

MovingOutOfBlighty · 30/09/2009 22:27

Grandmothers should not have such a potty mouth (if we are going to stereotype everyone and stick them in neat little boxes.)
Go and suck a Werthers Original to get rid of the foul words you let forth.

LadyFoof · 30/09/2009 22:27

Ugh, stupid apostrophe in Dads!! Aaagh!

Ronaldinhio · 30/09/2009 22:27

I'm glad they are on here it gives me a reason to keep my self tidy and always put on a slick of red lipstick in case a cheeky chappy should cast his gaze my way

Habbibu · 30/09/2009 22:28

Ah, I see - sorry, LadyF. I did think it was odd.

Kewcumber · 30/09/2009 22:28

"a kew board"?!

what a great typo from Kewcumber...

they even ponder the age old question of "how do we end up keeping so much shite

Someoe has even posted a link to contractionmaster

travelling away from home with kids

and I've even found posts about breastfeeding and PND on there >

actually some of those posters sound really sweet - want to give some of them a big squeeze

RustyBear · 30/09/2009 22:29

"this should be a mum's site. my daughter's ex has posted on here (as a woman)."

Is that why you think men should be banned?
I am interested to know how you think this might be achieved, as I don't think it's actually technically possible yet to determine the sex of a poster from their IP address....
