When ever anyone asks me if i'd like to meet someone, I say no. If they suggest dating sites, speed dating etc, I say that I am not interested, am happy as I am, and it is such a huge lie.

Not sure what ti says about me though, that I am so desperate for some male company.

I just so hate being single.

I know i stand no chance of meeting anyone either, not at the mo.

Have a nice time in Spain nutty

allgonebellyup · 25/03/2008 20:41

oh is the hen party in spain?

why on EARTH would you be dreading that???

CrackerOfNuts · 26/03/2008 19:45

I don't think I am dreading it, just very very apprehensive about it.

Anyhow, i'm out shopping all day tommorow to get last bits and bobs, and then my dad is picking me up at 5am friday morn to take me to friends parents house where the mini bus is collecting us from. So I'm not really going to have time to worry properly now

Have decided to ring surgery again on Monday and see if I can see any doc about testing my thyroid, as I want to know asap if it is that that is causing the anxiety and general feeling shitty.

Just a little update : Saw my gp today, told her how i'd been feeling etc, and we both agreed that along with my other symptoms and family history, a blood test to check my thyroid and other things was sensible.

She said if it comes back clear then we can sit down and work out what else it might be, including just plain old depression anxiety.

Personally, I will be gobsmacked if my thyroid comes back fine. I now have lovely puffy eyelids to match the rest of my symptoms.

Good luck with the GP and Spain

I saw my GP for similar Cracker and the bloods came back normal in every respect. GP reckons it's a new Single Parent Exhaustion Syndrome . I'm treating it with Dairy Milk.

allgonebellyup · 02/04/2008 11:04

nutcracker, i think its highly unlikely that you have a thyroid prob, more like you are depressed with life and bored with what feels like nothing to look forward to?

im in a similar position, only with 2 kids rather than 3, and i do work and study - which really DOES make me feel happier and like i have a purpose in life.
As i keep saying, you really need to sort out what you can plan towards - can you study for a degree or career?

the ADs have helped me a bit, though i am still very up and down, you may have to just see how you feel after a few weeks.
Do you ever have suicidal thoughts by the way??

CrackerOfNuts · 02/04/2008 15:59

bellyup - thyroid problems run through both sides of my family, 6 close relatives on my mums side have it, and i have nearly every single symptom if it. One of my mums final symptoms before hers was discovered was puffy dry eyes and shaky hands, which is exactly what I have now. My gp also said that the bowel problems i recently visited the docs about could also be connected if it is my thyroid.

I am looking into college for Sept, and am also having regular meetings with my lone parent advisor to dicuss several options.

If my tests all come back normal which I really doubt, then I have already told my gp that I will try ad's.

Oh, i don't have suicidal thoughts no.

Plus when I have been depressed before, it's been just that, but now I actually feel physically ill.
