Hello All

Im peter, 27 years old from london, I have two children, My son is 5 and my daughter is 4, I use to be a single parent untill my children went back to there mums but i still have plenty of contact with my children, Im here on mumsnet because i would really like to chat to other parents, None of my mates have children so when ever i tell them what ive been upto with them there not really interested, I sometimes feel abit isolated so it would be great to chat to some other parents, My aunt said that i should try a parenting website but she also said that she doubts very much that anyone would want to chat to me because im a guy,
Im just looking for someone that i can chat to about stuff in general and being a parent, I hope nobody minds me being here and if anyone would like to chat then please feel free to send me a message.

there is the slightly more pressing requirement here of accurate spelling StrawberryMartini.

ruty · 01/10/2007 20:23

Whatever happened to Tamba BTW? Or shouldn't i ask?

JustcallmeMAT · 01/10/2007 20:25

FGS.. why does this happen all the time?

Leave the guy alone!

Who cares whether he has kids or not... there's lots of women on here who don't have children!

And as for him wanting a date surely any woman who exchanges chat with him will be a big girl & able to make decisions for herself, she won't need a collective group of MNer's deciding if she should date him or not..

But seeing as he has stated he isn't here for the women, why, just this once, can't you all leave him alone!

Innovation · 01/10/2007 20:33

thanks matt,

so far ive been told to go on a dating site,

dont give a email address out,

dont say hun,

ive been accused of being here before and threats of users sending my username to mumsnet to have my ISP address checked,

a user has compaired my typing with another user and says we are the same person,

ive got to put a picture of my kids on because everyone else does and now im being told how to type.

i do agree that it rather assumes us ladies are unable to control ourselves in the presence of male e-hormones, which is quite ludicrous

and even if we werent able to, it wouldnt be anyone elses concern really

but i do think he has had long enough to feel sorry for himself now, so should just muck in

JustcallmeMAT · 01/10/2007 20:41

Just the one T MAT

I am a LAYDEEEEEE

Aye, no matter what you do, if some posters are inclined to think you are a troll then they will.

Nowt as queer as folk IME

Go on & post on other threads too though inno

We all need a little male perspective from time to time....

Is really quite simple Innovation, stop feeling sorry for yourself and jump into posting on random threads. Stop mentioning you are a man, if you are here to just chat then your gender is irrelevent, I had no idea Pan was male for months

and I like POF too, is no way pornographic if you use it correctly

ruty · 01/10/2007 20:44

the tone of Mumsnet is a bit harsh but true Innovation, you really have to have a thicker skin and just get on with it.

lou33 · 01/10/2007 20:45

yes the pof dis is going to go against him forever!

Rhubarb · 01/10/2007 20:46

Hmm, see what you mean Innovation. But given the history of trolls on Mumsnet I think you just have to try and be understanding. So what if they check you out? You've nowt to hide and if that's what they want to spend their times doing, let them. In the meantime just you post on whatever topic you like.

The more you are seen around the more you will be accepted.

PillockInThePumpkin · 01/10/2007 20:46

maybe the women on there are more hardcore than the men lou, present company excluded of course

lou33 · 01/10/2007 20:49

yes that could v well be true

i am nothing but a laydee however, and wont tolerate anyone sending me porno messages or cock shots

i'd ask if i wanted it

DavidTennantsMistress · 01/10/2007 20:49

ah get on other threads - bar incl and have a general gossip with the other girls.

come on girls leave the man alone - we have dads on here or are we only allowed to tlak to them as they're married/haven't gone into their personal life details.

this site is for parents by parents remember might be mumsnet but either sex can be a parent

hello btw we're all frindly really - unless you don't like choc (read that as try to take it away/not share with us) or try to take away any drinks in the bar

DavidTennantsMistress · 01/10/2007 20:50

LMAO you make me laugh lou.

Nbg · 01/10/2007 20:51

Innovation, remember these two things.

Thick skin and a pinch of salt

Go throw yourself into the site and enjoy

ive been here 24 hours, this is what ive been told,

  1. dont call anyone hun
  2. dont ask for email friends
  3. it seems im using this as a dating site
  4. people are concerned i dont have kids
  5. my username is suss.

Answer a question for me,
How is my username suss"

It is bloody obvious, innovation. You must think we came down in the last shower ! What I don't get is why you would fib about it ?

(BTW, I removed the msn address)

NomDeBroomstick · 01/10/2007 20:55

I can't believe that none of the rest of you can see it.

I've said my piece now and I'll leave this thread well alone.

PillockInThePumpkin · 01/10/2007 20:56

it was my immediate thought too NomDe, but figured that I'd let him have a chance to prove himself first before I jumped in.

Have to say i've not seen much to convince me he isn't yet, but am still hoping he'll venture onto active convos and make an effort

Rhubarb · 01/10/2007 20:56

Of course I knew all along!

Ah well, outed again by the Mumnset militia Innovation! What is your defence?

Innovation · 01/10/2007 20:56

yeah why would i fib about it, so come on tell everyone because i aint got a clue

PillockInThePumpkin · 01/10/2007 20:57

maybe that's just a man trait, whinge a lot, then bugger off when you don't get your own way
