Just joined - 48 and on my tod with two teens! arggghh

Joelybear · 08/06/2011 17:34

Hi Sallo Welcome to this thread - sorry you got here the way you have!!
I'm 44 with 5DC's
DS 1 =18
DS 2 = 17
DD 3 = 6
DS 3 = 4
DS 4 = 23months
been separated since January after ex went off with OW and it is getting easier (didn't want to say it just in case) but not necessarily for older DC's - but know they will get through it - just have to be there for them and give them time, space reassurance and a chance of uninterrupted time to chat when they are ready and on there terms.

Have just patched up DS3 who came in crying and bleeding with a cut on his his head - having just fallen off his bike!! Now plastered, cuddled and given wonderful Calpol. He just told me his bike is hurt aswell and needs plasters and medicine and it was his bike that went too fast not him!!

How's everyone else doing you all being rather quiet on here take it you all up to mischief then!

Brew being made for anyone interested :)

Joelybear · 08/06/2011 17:35

RockStockandTwoOpenBottles · 08/06/2011 18:08

Hello All,

Sorry, not been on in a couple of days. Been doing dull stuff such as work is Grin. Went to Gibraltar today (shit hole extraordinaire) to get cheap diesel (£32 to fill up my car which is rather good, as costs nearer ?70 here), various bits and bobs from the supermarket and be a bad smuggler buying cigarettes for people to bring with me when we come to the UK in a fortnight. They cost 19 quid for 200 there Shock, but as Gib is NOT part of the EU we're only allowed to bring one carton out. I brought 5 out

Sallo hello - I am 40 and have 4DC

DD1 - 17
DD2 - 16
DS - 14
DD3 - 2

Catapult you out yet? What's happening if not, and how's things if you are?

Ten did you make the muffins? and scoff the lot

Paul where are you? Are you ok and what's news?

Joely how are the older DS doing? Poor DS3 - my DS spent most of the first 12 years of his life with one scrape or another. Daily.

Dumps dating update please Grin

TheHumanCatapult · 08/06/2011 21:58

Joelybear · 08/06/2011 23:52

THC be good tonight so they don't keep you in extra for being naughty Grin Sop pleased for you to finally get to go home - you've done so well an been a real inspiration to us all.

By the way DS3's head sore and bruised did a good job with steri strips though I say so myself. Think he will have a sore head in the morning though and his bike is now patched up!! LOL

Dumpsville · 11/06/2011 09:17

Darling Ladies. Anyone for a morning Brew with me?
Have read through the thread to catch up with all your news. Have been missing for a while due to beingwhiskedawaytoBarbadosbytallhandsomestranger half term and then having my kitchen ripped out (I have read THC's advice on how to do the strikethrough thing, so am hoping that worked)!!
THC Are you home yet? How's things? How are the DC? I am so pleased for you. I find it hard to even imagine what you have been through recently, and you really are an inspiration to us all. You truly are an amazing woman. Hats off to you, lady.

Joely I have to say that you are sounding so much more positive, which is so nice. I guess that we will always continue to have the hassle with XPs and worries about our DCs - but personally I feel that now that I am 6 months down the line it is not so all-encompassing and I am feeling better able to deal with the shit issues when they arise! In saying that, XP has just been away on his second holiday within 6 weeks - a week in California this time, and came back to be given 1 week's notice at work. He popped round to tell me that I should have the Aga taken out when the kitchen is being done because he can't afford the gas bill! Oh, how I laughed........
Rock How's things? Sounds like you are busier workwise now. My work is now beginning to kick in, and I have to say that it's really rather inconvenient some days!! How's the Mighty B? Has she recovered from her stingy thingy?

Going to post this up now, before I lose the lot - and will do dating update on new message.
Dumps xx

Dumpsville · 11/06/2011 09:38

Back again. Another Brew in hand, if anyone fancies one?

Joely I have a bit of a sore head too this morning, but I fear it may be for a different reason than your DS3!!
Ten how are you doing? Sorry that your 'grower' didn't flourish - and neither did mine.
I chickenedout-- (btw, strikethrough thing didn't work as well as hoped on previous message, so need more advice THC) cancelled my evening date with forensic scientist. He took it really well initially, but then sent me a couple of messages implying that I was seeing someone else. Really? Who does he think I am, stringing 2 people along at the same time - no, that was my XP!!! I have stopped contact since, because I just do not have the time or the energy to deal with other people's insecurities as well as my own! I did get a really nice message yesterday though, from a 30 year old who wants to be my personal slave and do all my housework chores for me and anything else that I order him to do. Looking forward to all your advice on that one!!!! I may be meeting up for a coffee with someone a bit more normal than that soon - will keep you updated.
Waves to everyone. DC with XP this weekend. OW is apparently away for the weekend so XP has to deal on his own with swimming lessons, 3 parties, homework, washing/ironing, plus 2 very tired children because they were at a sleepover at school last night! I wish him all the very best!!! Oh, and he's grown THE MOST ridiculous goatee. What a plonker.
Waves and Hugs to everyone. Have a great weekend.

Oh hi have been getting back into my stride at work and really enjoying it again now :o knew I would once I got my head more straight!! And yes I really do feel great at long last and have done for about 3 weeks. The only way is forward now for me! lol

Yesterday bumped into an old work colleague (Her old not me LOL) She said I looked 10 years younger :) Today been to hairdressers for a real treat and have been told how good my hair looks and makes me look younger - if I keep going at this rate I'll be the youngest mom ever - so won't be able to hang out with you guys!! (In my dreams)

DS1 has given in his notice at work GP keeping him off sick till his notice period ends :) He is now applying for jobs thankfully and seemingly happier again. BUT thinks he should make an effort with his dad but can't bring himself to agree to meet him. (A very hurt young man). I tread gently with him and know he will be fine, but have to allow him time to come through this like I have :o

DS2 is carrying on at school as he took no exams this year due to the mess he was in cos of this, but is also applying to college to see if he can get there instead. He's seems quite upbeat most of the time an talks about things if he wants to,

DS3 all repaired after my emergency first aid - oh and his bike got better too - but still goes a bit fast at times!!

DS4 nolonger a baby - I cut off his baby curls 2 days ago Sad so he is now a boy!!

DD in fine voice and whinging cos I've had my hair done so why can't she!! Her's being done Sat :)

Well now I've filled you in on my news how you all doing?

THC glad you made it home hows things going. Rock keep up with the packing time must be flying now for you Paul how are you doing thinkin of you an hoping things getting easier....
Ten Dumps how are you?

WillIEverBeASizeTen · 16/06/2011 22:01

Alas no more for me, I'm utterly fed up with all the insincerity and bullshit these men spout...

Am truly knackered..AGAIN..post more over the weekend..hopefully with something interesting/exciting

Can I join too, have 3 children who have flown the nest and a 10 year old. Age gap 22 years between eldest and youngest! Don't know the lingo though will have to learn a new language.

RockStockAndTwoOpenBottles · 17/06/2011 16:08

madmadi absolutely. I have 4DC:

DD1 - 17
DD2 - 16
DS - 14
DD3 - 2

We make up our language as we go along Grin

Ten yes, mixed-ish feelings. Actually very excited to be coming back, and pleased that my being horrendously busy over the summer will make the time whizz by tbh. We're back to London/South East for 8 days from next week which will be another whirlwind tour and then the older ones arrive (DD2 comes first on 9th July and the other two fly out on 21st).

Joely wow - you sound so much more positive. I am really pleased that everything seems to be slotting in to place for you now. I know those first months are hideous and feel like they're just not going to change, but I can see that you can see that things really do get better and easier. Go you I say! And I know the two older DS are sometimes struggling to make sense of it all, but they will also 'get' things soon enough - they sound like such lovely boys. I hope DS1 can find something work wise that he a. loves and b. keeps him nice and busy.

Catapult are you now at home? How is it all going?

Paul how are you - come and let us know where you're at. Hope you're ok.

Well, been busy busy here. Bella is basically spending each and every day running around the garden in her nothings and traipsing pools of water through the house. Constantly. She's learning though, down to about 10 slips on marble floors per day now Grin. Soon enough she might remember to wipe her feet and thus not bang her head/knees/elbows/face!!!

Dumpsville · 17/06/2011 22:28

Lovely Ladies
It's Friday night Wine on me. The DC are home this weekend, yay! DS has been on a school trip to the IOW for the week, and the weather was a bit unfortunate for them to say the least. Tbh, I actually threw most of his clothes in the bin rather than even attempt to wash them! Does that make me a bad person??!!
Rock I had to read your recent post about 4 times before I got what I think you meant........."Pops in, finishes the cleaning as Catapult's pissed in her chair" Is it just me or did anyone else read that differently?

Joely I am so pleased to see you being so positive now. Go girl!!
THC How's it going being back at home?

Here's the latest message I received from the 'ass-whooping' guy.

Dumpsville · 17/06/2011 22:30

Carol, Leo Tolstoy once said ..
Hay Carol, get this. Leo Tolstoy (who was a prominent Russian writer) once said and I quote..
Its amazing how profound the delusion of female beauty affects all of mankind.
So to counter act this, I would say to Leo
Hay Leo my fellow Russian comrade and Bolshevik allow me to correct you geeeeeeeezer.
Have you checked out Carol, OMG dude she is Awesome and I mean Awesome with a capital A.
Furthermore Leo, I think you should keep of that dodgy vodka stuff you Russians love to export to the rest of the world

I love the way he felt the need to explain who Tolstoy was!!!!! Have a great weekend, all.
