Time for a new thread!!

Mellow, congratulations!

Dusty, ds2 would look so cool with a Beatles haircut

Pc, sorry you've all been ill, glad you're on the mend. Can't believe ds will be 2

Vbus, well done on getting dh into the spare room, dh refuses to move from our bed when he's ill!! Hope he's all better for your holiday, where are you going?

We're also ready for a holiday, am waiting for The Sun cheapie deals to start up again!

sfx - don't sound so ominous. You are getting me worried. There is always the next time to get rid of Tory boy. "As long as the mountain is there there is firewood to be gathered", so wise Chinese saying goes. Or something like that.

We are still Labour here. Old Steven Pound has his overwhelming majority. BNP got over 1000 vote.

sfxmum · 07/05/2010 08:23

seems clear to me it was immigration
let the Tories go for a minority government with Ulstermen and perhaps Ukip

pcworld · 07/05/2010 08:27

SFX, we are now tory over here as well. AND where we are moving

sfxmum · 07/05/2010 08:42

it was good to see Jacqui Smith Charles Clarke and Lembit go as well as Peter Robinson

all detestable and Respect are no more

tillyfernackerpants · 07/05/2010 09:56

Sfx, Respect are contesting the result! Also Tory here, mixed fortunes as it does mean Ann Keen is out but wanted nice Lib Dem

Not only did we have a BNP candidate but also UKIP & English Democrat

vbus · 07/05/2010 19:05

Sfx - your cake recipe did look good, think I'll make that for school fair next week. Do you think anyone will notice a few chunks missing out of it?

tillyfernackerpants · 07/05/2010 19:05

vbus, enjoy

Sfx, looking forward to it. News out about Breaking Dawn film today as well (may have been overshadowed somewhat today!)

Not only did our lib dem candidate lose in the parliamentary election, he also lost his council seat . I really thought he would do better this time.

Reckon there'll be another election in a year or so

vbus it was a nice simple cake would recommend very child friendly

tilly heard about release date in November, would love to see birth scene as written which is pretty much the best thing in the book imo

also tilly agree to election within a couple of years by which time I shall be naturalised and able to vote I feel personally responsible this time around

sfxmum · 07/05/2010 19:13

just have to make sure my referee is a Tory

UptoapointLordCopper · 07/05/2010 19:55

Not much news on local election here yet.

How can people choose Zac Goldsmith over Susan Kramer!? It's beyond belief. It takes all sorts, I suppose .

Let's guess who's the first to go in the new Tory government. I say George Osborne. That's the only light on the horizon as far as that is concern. Maybe they'll even get rid of DC himself. [Hopeful emoticon] Waiting for circus to start.

tillyfernackerpants · 07/05/2010 20:12

sfx, yes you're right, it's all your fault

Hello!

Isn't it freezing?

Been to Pacific Plaza for lunch. Food court with Chinese, Malaysian, Thai, Korean, Japanese food. Nice. And a tiny little Japanese bakery downstairs selling more variety of baked goods than seems possible in such a small place.

UptoapointLordCopper · 08/05/2010 15:41

Got the papers this morning but can't be bothered to read it. What government have we got today?

tillyfernackerpants · 08/05/2010 18:19

A dithery one - does NC want to cosy up to Tories or Labour?? live text commentary

sfxmum · 08/05/2010 18:42

UptoapointLordCopper · 08/05/2010 19:10

Kids were in moany mood today. Only just brightened up and it's bed time.

sfxmum · 09/05/2010 12:27

hello

dd's never ending cough/cold has now acquired earache had to pick her up early from school on Friday as she has been sleeping really poorly and by then was totally knackered.
we are all resting

finally watched Startrek the film last night, it was very good, really good tribute to original series too

Kewcumber · 09/05/2010 12:35

bored today. Have mooched around in pajamas all morning think I will resort to Kew this afternoon.

Very tired am slightly paranoid it might be the anaemia back - or it could just be tiredness!

dustythedolphin · 09/05/2010 16:48

I used to be a ward councillor and am old enough to remember how the Lib Dems helped get the BNP elected onto Tower Hamlets council - they were openly racist on the doorstep, telling council tenants that the Labour council had a policy of housing "africans" over white people, as they thought that would get people to vote for them over Labour. They were notorious for the dirty tricks campaigns they used and fibs they used on the doorstep. Susan Kramer made up several blatant fibs in her leaflets during this campaign. During this campaign a lib-dem was quoted as saying they would "nuke" Bradford if they got into power duen to the number of muslims living in Bradford.

I'm astounded how anyone can think they are nice TBH. But then I've seen them close up and they are just as ugly as the others

Were there queues at the polling stations? I would have been very annoyed if I'd queued up to vote and had been turned away

dustythedolphin · 09/05/2010 16:53

Ooops - got on my high horse a bit there didn't I??

sfxmum · 09/05/2010 17:58

the thing is Dustydolphin I don't vote for them on the basis that they are nice, am well aware of many things they have done, major example being Simon Hughes BUT in spite of all that I could never ever vote Tory as they are, as a party so ideologically removed from everything I believe in that if I were ever to take leave of my senses and reach to put the X next to their candidate I would be sure to at least break out in a terrible rash and possibly collapse on the spot

and how the devil are you? and weirdo lady boss?

am bored
