KC and slng - thanks for your comment. Well, I personally do not send my DS to there but as long as my friend and her DD are happy there, I suppose. We had a long chat with her last night and when she mentioned S school, the conversation went a bit awkward as you can imagine. I will stay on this from now for the sake of our friendship.

sfxmum · 11/11/2009 10:01

good morning all

sushi like other have said it seems to vary wildly, I know someone who is educating her children that way, they are cheerful creative independent and quite charming, this is in Switzerland, and the parents have a fairly 'alternative' lifestyle

personally I have the same problem with it that I have with religious schools Dogma for young minds when parent don't subscribe to the views can be dodgy to say the least

dd seems to be concerned with Afghanistan now, feeding her current obsession with death have reassured her we will not be going there on holiday any time soon
she will look in newspapers for pictures of coffins and show it to us - look someone died
I hope she is back on fluffy stuff soon

Not heard of said schools so no opinion.

Happy belated birthday to ds2, vbus!

vbus · 11/11/2009 13:23

Thanks all for birthday wishes, DS2 had a fun if somewhat crazy day, thankfully today is proving to be a lot more relaxing. DS2 enjoyed his b'day and typical baby enjoyed playing with the packaging as well as toys!

Sfx - Biffy should be a laugh, I had their song annoyingly stuck in my head all wkend and forgot about it til now Have fun!

Sushi - sorry don't know about school either.

PCW/Eastend/anyone else want to meet Fri am?

Do you think 's eyes will ever return?!

tillyfernackerpants · 11/11/2009 13:27

sushi, all I know of the S schools are what I've read on MN. If your friend & her dc seem happy there then fair enough I guess

Kew, very interesting take by ds

Ds1 will be wise man 2 in his nativity but so far is refusing to learn the one word he has to say! Going to be interesting to watch

pcworld · 11/11/2009 14:06

Vbus, not sure if we are around on Friday, will let you know if plans change, it would be nice to see you.

Ran ds ragged round the local park this morning and he was, thankfully, quiet, during the 2 minute silence at the local war memorial.

We have the school photos later on, dd has a massive scrape along her cheek from a fall - and my hair is a frizz-ball due to the damp conditions. Great! Oh - and ds has a new haircut and now looks like Liam Gallagher Put it like this - I don't think we'll be using this one as the Christmas card image this year

Feeling very BORED at the moment, thank goodness there is no choccy in the house!

slng · 11/11/2009 14:19

My day so far:

at boiler which behaved itself when boilerman was here and acted up immediately after he left

and

at work stuff

vbus · 11/11/2009 14:51

Slng - it's called Sod's Law!

PCW - LOL at school pic image, hope it turns out better than you think it will.

Not sure what DS1 will be doing for xmas play, I just know the date that I'm meant to turn up!

Better get ready for next soaking...

sfxmum · 11/11/2009 15:12

pcW am sure ds looks lovely, and maybe dd's pic is not so bad, still injuries in school photos are stories for later on

kewC love ds's take on the Jesus story, so where does the witch come from?

vbus yes should be a a laugh knowing my sister it will probably be moshpit

tilly is ds going for the strong ans silent type?

managed to study today, good chunk in plus some more tonight I hope

got soaked on school run and dd had massive meltdown on way home, early dinner and bed I think, she has been finding it hard to fall asleep this week and consequently has been sleepy in the morning

OP posts:
slng · 11/11/2009 20:58

These days it's me having meltdowns rather than the kids. Work is overrated.

Has anyone ever made a gingerbread house? Contemplating the idea for Christmas.

eastendmummy · 11/11/2009 21:04

Hi everyone. Just a quick post as Spooks just started but Vbus I'm around Fri am if you want to meet? Can you cat me?

sfxmum · 11/11/2009 21:04

Hello

Sfx - can sympathise on meltdowns 7 tiredness, we have deliberately had a quiet week in anticipation of busy wkend and busy wk ahead and mostly has been fine, but, DS1 melteddown after nursery on Tues and just now at lunchtime. I'm amazed we managed to have some lunch and still get to school on time (just about). And now for some peace and quiet and cake...

Eastend - looking fwd to meeting you tom

eastendmummy · 12/11/2009 13:35

tillyfernackerpants · 12/11/2009 14:18

sfx, yep will jump over to fb now!

xmas trip to Kew sounds good

vbus, sympathies on meltdowns, hope they stop soon.

Not much news here, ds1 just been for his swimming lesson and is now resting in front of the tv as he's 'a bit tired'!

sfxmum · 12/11/2009 14:23

I have not seen details of Christmas 09 at Kew but usually they have Father Christmas and kids panto at C&C as well as a pretty merry go round

OP posts:
pcworld · 12/11/2009 14:32

Christmas at Kew is fab

SFX, I recall a great Stranglers gig at Brixton Academy, me at the front of the mosh pit! {{OLD emoticon}}

Having a poor week on the food front, it is butternut squash AGAIN tonight, seem to have lost momentum.

ds is awake, I must fly but it has been a nice lunchtime break and I got a lot done!

vbus · 12/11/2009 14:51

Also been v.productive today. Stupid cakes made for school for a start, plus made fish pie for tea and had a nice chat with friend who's just had her 1st baby. Also got to get ready to go out soon

Keen on meeting at Kew too

Eastend - thanks for text

Tilly - thanks, no major drama, just every so often it hits him that he's soooo tired/hungry cue meltdown

Sfx - enjoy moshpit I was at Brixton forf gig 2wks ago before that I was there about 8yrs ago watching JJ72, how time flies!
