Hi

Was wondering if any one else would like to get together one day and have a chat?

The more the merrier, everyone is always saying what is there for children to do, personally i hate going to soft play, swimming etc on my own. Think it may be an idea?

any one else with a suggestion?

x

I'll be there

PacificDogwood · 27/08/2009 22:59

I keep forgetting to check this thread regularly . So did not know about tomorrow's meet-up, but wouldn't be able to come anyway as working all day, grrrr!
Hope you have a nice time .

prettybird · 28/08/2009 16:45

Well, I went (albeit about 10 minutes late) and didn't manage to find anyone

Still, I had a nice coffee and a slice of carrot cake

weegiemum · 28/08/2009 16:47

I thought you meant next week!!!

Flip, I could have been there instead of doing the ironing!!!!!

I'm a numpty!

prettybird · 28/08/2009 16:54

You were the one person I knew I would recognise! :0

BTW - if your dd1 goes along to the rugby practice, I often go along and just sit in the bar to support ds, while dh coaches the P1-P3s, if you fancied having a natter. Let me know if you want to go along - otherwsie I might just stay at home and read the newspapers tidy up

weegiemum · 28/08/2009 16:57

I don't think I'll be there this Sunday as we are asking someone else to be responsible for them due to us having a lunch invite. Weren't there last week cos of Swine Flu!

But next Sunday I will be along I woudl think so hopefully see you then!

prettybird · 28/08/2009 17:02

I'd be happy to take responsibility for dd1 if she was wanting to come along.

weegiemum · 28/08/2009 17:03

I may well take you up on that. She went the first week and loved it - only girl but had a great time.

I'll phone you!

RedHairedGirlie · 29/08/2009 08:14

sneakerpimps · 17/10/2009 19:52

Are there going to be any more meets soon. I have just moved back to the west end from East Renfrewshire and I am looking to meet some new people with kiddiewinkles

loueden · 30/01/2010 13:36

Hi there, new to Netmums and stumbled across this chat. My New Year's resolution was to try to find other mums to meet with in the Southside or city centre - can't believe am actually trying to keep a resolution and is not just a work of fantasy fiction! I have a five month old boy, Alexander, and have spent the past few months trying to catch up with friends, work colleagues and family.Would love for Alexander to be around more children - none of my friends have young kids. Would also be great for me as not all friends want to do baby chat! However, am also perfectly willing and able to chat about other more adult topics; that is, if i can remember what they are!
Looking forward to hearing from other mums.

RedHairedGirlie · 05/02/2010 20:39

Have you thought about trying the buggyfit class that takes place in Queen park? Great way to keep fit, meet other mums and have a coffee afterwards so the wee ones can have a play in the soft play area. I've been going since July last year and really enjoy the class and company.

RedHairedGirlie · 22/03/2010 21:36

Anyone fancy meeting up / doing something nice with the little people Saturday 17th April?

giraffesCANdriveAcar · 22/03/2010 22:00

Depending where then yup am up for that RHG. I will probably steal a small child for the day depending on where either 4yr old or a baby! (When I say steal I obviously mean borrow with permission!) So will see what the plan is before I decide which to pinch!

bethjeff · 23/03/2010 21:09

I'd be up for that- I can never think of anything to do at the weekend because everywhere's hoaching with folk

SlummyMummy85 · 27/03/2010 19:25

Hi there,

I new(ish) to MN and would love to meet up with other mums too.

I would only be able to do weekends though as i work full time (boo!).

DS is 7

luluvalentine · 31/03/2010 02:20

yes will be up 4 it - last time woosed out as realised didnt know what to look for so need a signal... red carnation etc etc
or will be approaching anyone who gives me eye contact

WhiteRabbits · 23/04/2010 15:01

Hello everyone

I would also appreciate the chance to meet up with other mums. My DS is 4, I've recently finished uni so I've missed out on the mother/toddler groups and none of my friends have children. I'm working just now but job is due to finish next month and would love to have some people to hang out with and do 'kiddie' things, as it can get quite boring on your own.

I've just come across this (not on MN very often), did the meet up on the 17th happen, and is it going to be a regular thing?

If not weekdays or weekends suit me.

RedHairedGirlie · 25/04/2010 21:40

How terrible am I.. I totally forgot about posting about the 17th April!!!! clearly working FT and a 1 year old are taking their toll Would be nice to try and pick another weekend date and maybe meet at Glasgow Green or something... How about Saturday 8th May.. and I promise to check back on the posting this time!!!

WhiteRabbits · 26/04/2010 13:53

8th May at Glasgow Green sounds good to me

weegiemum · 28/04/2010 18:49

I may be able to manage that! Dh would be glad of a slab of time to himself at home and my kids would be delighted to mingle with other kids/babies (esp dd2 as she wants one and isn't getting one!)

weegiemum · 28/04/2010 18:50

For those who don't know mine are 10, 8, 6 and rather fantastic with little ones!

PacificDogwood · 30/04/2010 11:45

Hello, ladies, would it be presumptious (sp?) to tag along on the 8th, please?

I am on mat leave (had DS4 7 weeks ago) and am quietly going insane in need of adult company .

I could come with all 4 thugs darling offspring (aged 7, 6, 2 and tiddly new one) if ya'll feel brave.

weegiemum · 30/04/2010 11:54

PD bring them all!

Then my ds (8) will have someone to play with - excellent!!!

PacificDogwood · 30/04/2010 11:57

Ah, thanks!
DS1 will love to have an older man to play with .
