sfxmum · 20/04/2009 11:00

dd looks tired today so we will take it easy, I think I will have a job persuading her to go out at all, bribery might be required

sfxmum · 20/04/2009 11:02

For any of you thinking about potty training - do be careful!

www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/5183368/Toddler-gets-foot-stuck- in-potty-during-toilet-training.html

sfxmum · 20/04/2009 14:20

just what kind of potty was it?
I suppose she just could not get her bum stuck there like everyone else

dd bought a pink wheelie suitcase it is extremelly pink and girly complete with bade and shiny stars ans detachable cross body bag

'look mummy it is a gorgeous pink Barbie suitcase'
it isn't Barbie a person has to draw a line somewhere

slng · 20/04/2009 15:27

Just back from China town with DS1 with new haircut and about a ton of books...

sfx - I think the place is more or less purpose-built seaside resort. Certainly plenty of apartments by the sea. I think shops open on Sunday morning at least. Didn't do any of the shopping myself because do not speak the lingo! DH did all shopping, including breakfast runs to the shop for fresh croissants. Must go to French-speaking places more often!

Did anyone go to Disco yesterday? DS2 was so grumpy and snotty we decided to just hibernate...

pcworld · 20/04/2009 16:25

SFX, where did you get the wheely case? I want one for dd for our trip in a few weeks' time ...

sfxmum · 20/04/2009 16:48

pcW from TKmaxX was browsing for flip flops, I really am an optimist
the case is from Roxy it cost £9.99 quite big was toying with idea of a Trunki but the price put me off

slng my french is rusty but been refreshing it to teach dd we have chats in French at dinner it is quite funny grappling for words, all this seems to have made dd keener on learning portuguese funny that

sfxmum · 20/04/2009 16:49

mouth watering at the thought of fresh croissant for breakfast

sfxmum · 20/04/2009 17:45

tilly first week of May for dh's birthday

am trying to find a small folk festival of some sort later in the summer but can't find anything suitable, we will try and do something before school starts

still giddy from entering race

OP posts:
tillyfernackerpants · 20/04/2009 18:50

I'm in denial about the race

SJ99 · 20/04/2009 20:41

Hello all

Just about sort of caught up, phew.

Steppie - so sorry to hear your sad news [sad Condolences to you and your family

PCW - the Welsh liquid gold was fab can definitely recommend the whisky tour. Rest of hols was fab too, also visited a castle and had several lovely walks in the Brecons. Where are you off to?

KC - how was Bop?

Sfx/Ros - good luck for the race

Museli - would to love to meet again, will email you

Yes, yes, yes to Wagammama night out!

SJ99 · 20/04/2009 20:45

Sfx - bet you're loving DD's new pink dolly trolley

sfxmum · 21/04/2009 10:51

good morning all

SJ sounds like a nice holiday
dd wanted to take her suitcase to nursery this morning, we compromised on a set of wings bunny 'antlers' and necklace
she is so high maintenance

tilly did 3 miles this morning in shocking slow time but in my defence I barely slept, and once I did fall asleep some SOB drove around with stereo blaring some 10td rate R&B at blinking 4.30am

hope everyone is well

OP posts:
SJ99 · 21/04/2009 19:50

Oh no Sfx, how awful that you had a disturbed night, hope you have a good sleep tonight. I was awake btw 2-6am on Sun night, each time I dropped off something would wake me (birds, planes, traffic etc), I'd forgotten how noisy it is living in London after the quietness of Wales

DS1 escorted 'puppy' to preschool today, so cute how they want to take something with them!

BTW I sent a few emails to you but haven't got any replies so now I'm wondering if you got them...? Maybe you're ignoring me

sfxmum · 21/04/2009 20:11

hi SJ not ignoring saw just one email I think yesterday, sorry busy checking and re checking stuff for taxes, dh gets really anxious at this time and there is no point saying I have already done it
will reply

am really tired had to close my eyes mid afternoon, dh is out until a bit later but dd not used to it so is in bed going at every small noise 'ah is that you daddy?'

is everyone out enjoying the sun?

OP posts:
SJ99 · 21/04/2009 20:26

No rush to reply, was just checking email was working properly as DH said he didn't get one I sent to him.

have been out in the lovely weather, I stupidly left buggy board in Wales so DS1 has had to do far more walking than he's used to, he's wiped out but it's too nice to stay in!

AnotherMuesliPleaseBarman · 21/04/2009 20:52

Hi all,

SJ - yes, let's do Friday - computer doing weird things at the moment, hence lack of reply! Look forward to hearing all about Wales

V impressed with all the dedicated Race for Lifers - I attempted it a couple of years ago. Most memorable moment, the 'M-People' style finish, speeding up so I couldn't feel my jelly-legs at all, and grinning as they blasted out 'what have you done today to make you feel proud?' over the speakers. And then collapsing on the grass before staggering off in search of cider. Cheesy but satisfying . Would love to attempt this year but feel it's too early with the c-section scar - scary visions of tummy gradually unravelling in front of horrified spectators...

Have a nasty cough at the moment, and have discovered it's a nightmare with a little one. Distracts him during his feed, makes him (and DH) stir at night, wakes him up just as I'm putting him back to bed at 3am....argh!

By the way, I saw someone mention a toy library a few pages back. Is there one in the Richmond area? (google search gives nothing away). DS attention span v short right now and seems to require constant stimulation. He's especially into anything with a smiley face that he can gurgle and swipe at.

sfxmum · 21/04/2009 21:21

Hi muesli how is the feeding going? has it slowed down a bit?
about the race I will do it very slowly I think

SJ dd has taken to wearing lots of accessories for nursery I think that Reception will be a bit of a shock how is ds2 eye?

OP posts:
slng · 21/04/2009 21:24

Hello all!

Museli - Toy library in Brentford.

DS2 is going through a "no" phase:

"Would you like to go to the toilet?" (clue: holding crotch skipping about) "NO!!!"

"Would you like some noodles (favourite food)?" "NO!!!" "WAHHHHH!!! I HAVEN'T GOT NOODLES!!!"

"Would you like to say no again?" "NO!!!!"

etc etc ad nauseum

tillyfernackerpants · 22/04/2009 04:13

slng, lol at no!

Seems to be my turn to have a disturbed night, ds1 wet the bed so back in nappies & is now in (most) of our bed, then ds2 woke up & I couldn't get back to sleep. Oh well, ds1 in nursery tomorrow so will go back to bed when ds2 has a nap!

Muesli, I'm a regular visitor to the toy library in Brentford if you'd like to meet there one morning.

sfx, 3 miles is more than I've done! Dh is going to get me a training plan & I need to get some new trainers. The ones I've got I bought about 10 yrs ago

Sj, glad you had a good time in Wales. Ds1 is also wiped out most days because of the walking/scooting he has to do, he refuses to use the bike attachment we got

SJ99 · 22/04/2009 08:57

Slng -

Tilly - what time were you awake today ? Toy library does look good, must try it sometime, will give you a shout

Museli - great Anyone else want to come to Starbucks, Teddington fri am?

LOL at race finish! I used to do the Nike 10k's last time I lived in London but that was in the days I was superfit, now I'd struggle to run down the road. Must get back into swimming again, trouble is I'm always sooo tired these days!

Sfx - actually off to see docs again this am about DS2 eye thanks for asking, won't bore everyone with saga but let's hope it's finally on the mend, fingers crossed
