good morning all

LOL @ Friary

we had a nice bracing time at Kew Gardens yesterday, am hoping to keep things low key today with just a walk by the river a little later

am quite please Danny Boyle won last night, not seen the film but I really like him

on Saturday when dd&dh were out on Richmond Green some huge dog came out of nowhere and jumped dd from the back, huge paws on her shoulders knocked her over, it was meaning to play but she was really scared, the the owner came over with the dog to say he did not mean t bite seriously distressed child bring over cause of distress a bit closer again

FriarKewcumber · 23/02/2009 09:29

nice to see everyone on Sunday. Nice to ssee the cakes too SJ - is there something illegal in those biscuits you made? Steppie and I had one each after everyone left and she nearly smacked me across the back of the back of the head and ran off ith the rest of them but I was too quick for her.

Am expecting good news within a day or two so watch this space

FriarKewcumber · 23/02/2009 09:29

who's dannie boyle?

rosmerta · 23/02/2009 09:51

He directed Slumdog Millionaire

Think ds1 has decided on Lollipop today, & then the library

SushiMummy · 23/02/2009 09:56

Morning all.

It was lovely to see some of you yesterday and thanks KC for having us. The babes are GORGEOUS!!![extremly broody emoticon]

Hope everyone is well.

mygreatauntgriselda · 23/02/2009 10:39

Have got Slumdog Millonaire on DVD to watch today, so looking foward to it muchly

Hey listen you lot I was VERY ILL yesterday - sore throat, high temperature aching limbs

How very dare you all suggest it was a hangover

SJ99 · 23/02/2009 13:38

LOL KC, you just can't trust that Steppie, I think it must have been the breast milk in it that made her act like that

I'm pleased Kate Winslet finally won an Oscar, she's waited long enough

Sfx - at dog incident, that would've freaked me out never mind how scary it must've been for a small child. Is minisfx ok now?

mygreatauntgriselda · 23/02/2009 14:02

Were you all drinking BM at the meet up then?? I guess it make a change from wine huh?

mygreatauntgriselda · 23/02/2009 14:03

SFX that incidents sounds horrible!! Poor mini SFX! I always get nervous when I see dogs and I have the DCs with me. Children are sort of dog height aren't they which makes them so much more vulnerable

mygreatauntgriselda · 23/02/2009 14:04

Watched Slumdog Millionaire this morning - what an amazing film!!!

stepfordwife · 23/02/2009 14:20

it's fab, isn't it, auntie. the kids - non-actors - are brilliant. the bit that really 'gets' me is right at the end when the little boy and girl are dancing.

sfx at dog. yes, i like danny boyle too - love shallow grave and trainspotting for that matter.

kew (hiding stash of SJ's scrummy biscuits) thanks muchly for yesterday. lovely to see some of you and, yes, the bambinos are gorgeous. (down, ovaries, DOWN...)

hello mellow, hope you get it all sorted for march.

well, the next lot of work has started - chap doing a patch-=up job on our windows - they need replacing but we can't afford it. the last owners had done a cosmetic paint job to hide rot and survey should have picked it up, but didn't.
anyhow, this should buy us a few years.

planning to drag dh to ikea this evening to buy lots of 'Storage solutions" to hide all our rubbish away in new kitchen cupboards. deep joy...

Hello!

Spent all morning looking for pianos... Bit bored now! Wish someone would tell me what to get ...

OP posts:
stepfordwife · 23/02/2009 14:34

..hang on..

rewind..
breast milk

SJ99 · 23/02/2009 14:42

ok, just jesting ... not a drop of milk went into biccy production, human, cow or otherwise

Also a fan of Mr Boyle, looking fwd to watching film, didn't realise it was out on dvd already?

sfxmum · 23/02/2009 14:43

slng sorry can't help with piano

the gathering at the Friary sounds like a riot

dd seems fine she has a bruised knee from the fall and is refusing to go out today, not entirely new but we will see, dh on the other hand will need time to recover I think he feels like punching someone

will be trying my new cheapy, (but with excellent reviews) breadmaker today, I hope it will work well

sfxmum · 23/02/2009 14:46

about mr Boyle I think the one I don't like is the one with Cameron Diaz, what was he thinking! but I rally like Sunshine, 28 Days later, Millions and the ones already mentioned, and sort of like the Beach very beautiful but not fully realised imo

rosmerta · 23/02/2009 15:40

Iirc, the Cameran Diaz one came on the heels of Shallow Grave & Trainspotting so everyone expected it to be great & it wasn't! I'm looking forward to watching Slumdog Millionaire. I also want to see Revolutionary Road

Ds1 has fallen asleep watching a film, but ds2 awake & gurgling, why can't they sleep at the same time?! Oh well, at least ds2 will let me watch what I like on telly

Am lo

mygreatauntgriselda · 23/02/2009 16:28

SJ - you naughty thing re the BM !!!

Mind you we produced enough during our FB Feed-in on Saturday to feed the whole of London I think

sfxmum · 23/02/2009 16:30

mellow forgot to add hope work goes well and also I posted a pic on FB of our dds playing the other day, if not ok I will take it down

mellow2 · 23/02/2009 18:27

Hello all,

I'm back again. I'm having a quiet moment before I start again. Sigh.

I can't believe I've been away so long that I completely missed hearing anything mentioned about a meet up until it was over.

Sfx - Pic on FB is fine.

Steppie - thanks. I hope so too.

mygreatauntgriselda · 24/02/2009 09:33

Oooooh I feel really poorly - sore throat, achey limbs, sotty nose. The Fat Toddler is suffering from the same thing

rosmerta · 24/02/2009 10:09

auntie hope you both get better soon

I'm about to do some ironing . But I get to watch BSG whilst doing it so there is a plus side!

ComeOVeneer · 24/02/2009 10:17

Hi all. Haven't forgotten about you all, just seem to be so busy these days I rarely have time to post.

I have handed in my resignation as Chair of PTA effective at the end of the school year. I had no idea when I took it on just how much work was involved (and how bad/disorganised shape it was in - turns out we have been basically doing many things illegally ).

Cake business is a bit slow atm, probably due to the fact the economy is so dire.

Thanks for the birthday wishes from those of you on FB. Had a lovely day yesterday, DH took the day off and we went to the new Jamie Oliver restauraunt in Kingston. Unfortunately yesterday also involved a tyre blow-out (ended up replacing both front tyres) a dead goldfish (again) and a dead dishwasher!

Hope everyone is doing ok and all the children. Anyone care to give me a quick update on any exciting news?

Any meet-ups planned in the near future?

MrsRecycle · 24/02/2009 10:28

ros - I'm ironing as well - haven't ironed for months!

Auntie - sorry you are ill, it is an awful bug, sorry that ds2 has it as well. Take it easy.

Mellow - must try and look at your website today, need some tights.

Cov that is awful about the PTA. Sorry to hear your birthday turned out so bad.

Another day, another viewing in the recycle house. Let's hope an offer comes soon but ds did do a good job of showing them around. I'm feeling much better but thought 5 days of not eating would make me lose weight, not put it on! Once I get my strength back, exercise is on the cards, methinks.

SJ99 · 24/02/2009 10:42

Morning all

MrsR - glad you're feeling better, fingers crossed for offer

Auntie - hope you and FT get better soon. DS1 also threw up last night but seems fine today so don't think it was a bug

Cov - belated birthday greetings for yesterday

Mellow - good luck for launch, glad shop is doing so well

Ros/Sfx - agreed C Diaz film was pretty weird, it's bugging me now can't remember what it was called, Endless day or something like that???

Yesterday DS1 asked for the days song I racked my brains but failed to think of any nursery rhymes with days of the week in them, poor thing was getting more and more frustrated & upset. I eventually figured out he wanted to listen to Manic Monday by the Bangles
