Hope you find me!

Well the afternoon was better, he does like his pants and at least he's learning bladder control by holding his wees in! His nappy was dry last night for 1st time ever. Think I got cross this morning as DS2 seemed to not settle in cot all day so I had to keep tending to him and then each time I came back downstairs there were puddles all over the floor and one on my bag .

I haven't been telling him off for accidents but tonight I made him (not me) take off his wet pants and put them in the laundry, he didn't like that but I think making him clean up his mess will help him realise the consequences.

Slng - I love sandwiches!

Sfx - good luck for your test tom, hope it goes well

Sushi - what size are your pull ups?

sfxmum · 17/02/2009 20:51

I agree with cleaning up after themselves and shower (dd does not like it either) not in a punishing sort of way but as a sort of consequence

sj not doing test but testing something

off to watch BSG after catching up on Being Human tv treats for me today

slng · 17/02/2009 21:06

Heroes is back on Monday, apparently. Not sure if I have much patience with it though... I want Spooks back! Did rather enjoy that Whitechapel thing starring Adam from Spooks though normally avoid gory things.

SJ - hope DS1 gets it soon! But there is a possibility that he's not wanting to do it atm, with DS2 still quite a traumatic event to him? We tried once with DS1 when DS2 was small (2 months) and he just didn't want to do it, but he was fine when DS2 was about 7 months old.

slng · 17/02/2009 21:25

Correction - successful potty-training for DS1 when DS2 was 5 months old. I'm sure that is really relevant!

FriarKewcumber · 17/02/2009 23:29

I have some pullups too - you can have them when you colelct the potty.

SushiMummy · 18/02/2009 09:22

morning all.

sj - I think it's size 4 (12kg over?) but I'll check tonight and come back. I have Thomas padded training pants, too. What time are you going to KSs on Sunday? Maybe I can come over with pullups? Btw, the 'can't-be-bothered' phase lasted about a month (and I nearly gave up at this stage) but suppose you just have to be patient. Don't worry, you'll be there.

hope everyone is well.

v stressful week at work (warning; you should never get yourself involved with HR). can't wait for the weekend.

mygreatauntgriselda · 18/02/2009 10:13

Have I missed anything?

stepfordwife · 18/02/2009 11:48

hello everyone

did you have a lovely time, auntie?

fab news about platelets behaving themselves, kew

SJ, I'm sure ds1 will get sorted but, if he doesn't 'get' at mo, there's no harm - if you want to - to try again in a few months time. it's amazing how much difference that few months can make. cliche alert: they really do click when they're reday.

sounds like you're doing a great job, tho, with ds2, too. would have loved tom see your face when there was a puddle of wee on your bag

sfx, how did testing go?

have been busy during half-term so far visiting friends and rellies. got some swimming lessons booked for ds1 as he's in a gala soon and tickets for why the whales came at richmond theatre, so that'll keep us busy..

Kew and SJ: shameless inviting herself over alert: if you're heading to kew's gaffe on sunday, how about i get the boxes dropped off there so you've got them. would that help?? will load them up for you. (they are flat now!) if that's a rubbish idea and you've got no room in your car/can't carry them/etc, no worries, we'll get them round to you at some point.
as you were

stepfordwife · 18/02/2009 11:50

oh saw slumdog millionaire
don't think quite lives up to hype, but enjoyed it muchly (bear in mind i am very easily pleased, tho..)

SJ99 · 18/02/2009 14:21

Hello all

Thanks for support. Slng - it had crossed my mind that it might be bit soon for DS1 after baby but I guess you have to try at some point. In my mind I will give it til end of next week and if no improvement will call it a day and try again later.

Steppie - can pick up boxes from you while I'm in the area, no plans made with KC yet, depends when she's able to take visitors on Sunday?

Sushi - thanks for pull ups, they should be fine. I'm still wary about using them but they will be handy to have about the place for long trips/outings etc.

Hello Auntie - did you have good trip?

Sfx - sorry, meant to write testing not test, anyway still hope it's going well!

rosmerta · 18/02/2009 14:50

Hi all, internet's back finally, good job too as I was getting twitchy fingers

Sj, sorry the potty training's not going well, agree with Steppie that they will get it! Do you think it would work if ds1 saw his friends using the toilet? Perhaps you could play on the 'big boy' idea? Sorry if you've already tried that

Kew, glad platelets are behaving themselves

We've had a lovely couple of hours at Kew today. I think we've come back with most of it, various leaves, twigs & stones are piled up in the bottom of the pushchair! Ds1 wants to start an 'interest table' so he can show dh what he's done during the day.

stepfordwife · 18/02/2009 16:36

no worries, SJ. whatever suits. quite happy to bring them over to you if that's easier for you.

ros, yes, the bottom of dd's buggy is home to loads of rubbish wonders of nature, too. an interest table is a lovely idea, used to do that when ds1 and ds2 were little...haven't done it all with dd...oh dear, 3rd child syndrome

ds2 is nagging me to watch ALL of brits this evening. said he can watch half of it. should be fun watching kylie and mathew horne flirt and general jokes falling flat.

i can't wait for it to be spring

feel better now..
as you were

sfxmum · 18/02/2009 16:43

hi all

so auntie do you have a tan

steppie/ros I know about the tons of nature stuff at the bottom of the buggy, occasionally she drags around a branch bigger than herself when can I ditch buggies?

SJ might be cliche but true when it clicks it click before then is pretty frustrating, after being toilet trained for a while dd went through a period of just peeing standing and where ever she fancied, it was very annoying

the testing thing was fun, short and painless and got to meet some nice people

mygreatauntgriselda · 18/02/2009 17:11

[waves back to SJ]

Had a fabby break - lots of dining out and LOADS OF CAKE and WINE - feel totally wrecked now

Was great to spend some time alone with DD, she tends to be squeezed out attention wise by the two noisy boys

No tan but Twas very sunny and bright

Stayd with an old friend which was nice (although we both felt like deleting her irritating clingy controlling boyfriend )

SFX glad you enjoyed your testing stint

SJ yes they do get it in the end .I trained mine when they were 3 already so I didn't get tht accidents phase [lazy emoticon]

Kew - fantastic news about your platelets - what a relief eh?

FriarKewcumber · 18/02/2009 22:45

so are we having a mini get together at mine on Sunday I can do any timein the afetrnoon say from 1pm nwards.

I'll provide coffee if someone else brings the hot cross buns!

SJ you can have first choice - what time suits you?

rosmerta · 19/02/2009 07:09

Do you mind if I tag along on Sunday? Dh has a long training run so I'm trying to find ways to keep ds1 distracted!

rosmerta · 19/02/2009 07:12

Oh that didn't sound right, it would be lovely to catch up with you all as well!

SJ99 · 19/02/2009 09:06

Morning

KC - sounds great thank you for invite, will try and rustle up some goodies to bring along. About 3pm ok?
Steppie - I'll take the boxes off your hands in that case

Yesterday went to hospital only to find my appointment had been cancelled
Then after putting both DC to bed thought I'd veg out and watch the Brits only to have a neighbour who I don't know very well invite herself round, couldn't get rid of her for ages. Thought she would've taken the hint given I was in my pj's with a tub of ice cream & tv on, and clearly not expecting company. I only answered the door as I thought it was DH and he had forgotten his keys.

Not my week is it?

SushiMummy · 19/02/2009 09:28

Morning all.

KC - thanks! it will be lovely to see you and your DS and to catch up with ros/sj/steppie or whoever taggin along, too. I get to see the babes finally![excited emoticon] I'll bring something, too.

sj - checked the pullups and some are size 5/6 (14kg over) and some are 4/5 (12kg over). I'll bring them all on Sunday.

auntie - glad you had a fab break!

FriarKewcumber · 19/02/2009 10:01

stepfordwife · 19/02/2009 11:39

SJ - no worries, will get DH to drop me round and put boxes into your car.
