QC - keep my fingers firmly crossed for the passport to arrive tomorrow. What time do you leave? If you need my assistance with your cats, I'm happily obliged.

stepfordwife · 17/12/2008 13:14

keeping everything crossed it turns up tomorrow
is there any way you can get him an emergency one today?

auntie, well done m'dear. the benefits of praise are sorely under-estimated.

having a meeting with building bosses today as woefully running over now.agreed they'd finish off next door first then come here..all we want now is for them to do lights and hook oven up so can have christmas lunch next week.
ho-hum...

got dd's nursery christmas concert tis arvo. will be a release to have a little sob, especially as i've got raging PMT!

Steppy looks like your builders maybe around to help you with the Christmas lunch!!

Kew - FFS!!!!

I am chewing my fingernails on your behalf!

Can you change your flight out if it doesn't show up (confident it will though)

Hello!

QC - Fingers tightly cross that it will turn up.

Went to DS1's christmas concert. Joseph said his lines between gnawing fingers. Must say though the school choir is very good indeed. It would appear that the head likes her music, even though she seems not to like the parents too much.

we're going on a ship - once it's gone its gone - no way of getting on part way through. No time for emergency passport - its Kazakh and would need embassy to issue one and then get home office to issue new leave to remian and get it back to us by tomorrow morning.

I'm trying to reconcile myself to not going but have 10 days of nothing to fill now, with no doubt an upset DS - at least he is just about old enough to be disctracted after the inital upset - which there will be - Nanny has been telling him how we are going to have Christams on a big boat with her.

Am thinking of driving my mum down to the ship but it will be really horrible to drive away and leave her and have to drive back from Southhampton.

sparklyxmasfairy · 17/12/2008 14:24

that is pants

if it does not turn up you are welcome here over the weekend, providing the plague is over and done with there should be baking

MaSTARRecycle · 17/12/2008 15:35

oh shit Kew - am completely horrified for you, let's hope the power of the West London Crew, praying for your ds' passport to be delivered safely, works!

I would volunteer my ds' passport but he needs it for next Tuesday and the names are different.

Our caravan is free if you feel the need to get away - gch but sadly no sparky! Its all yours...

KewcumbersRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 17/12/2008 17:51

my lovely mum has decided that if we're not going she's not going either. I don;t think she wants to spend Xmas away from DS to be honest - he's so thrilled with everything at the moment that I know she'd really miss seeing him open all her presents.

I'm going to make an appointment with GP tomorrow and try to get a sick note if passport doesn't arrive.

mygreatauntgriselda4christmas · 17/12/2008 19:03

Kew when does your boat leave?

KewcumbersRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 17/12/2008 19:46

just afetr lunch - I have until about 12noon for passport to arrive. It will really depend on whetehr HO posted it early on Tuesday or at end of day (knowing how most offices work I suspect end of day) and just luck about the post. Its coming from Sheffield so not exactly down the road.

rosmerta · 17/12/2008 20:48

Kew, have my fingers crossed for you!

Auntie, well done on your appraisal! Nice to have your hard work recognised!

Sfx, are you all feeling better?

Ds1 & I had a lovely time yesterday afternoon, I think he liked having the one to one time with me again.

Does anyone know if Kew are still doing their xmas stuff or was it just last weekend?

stepfordwife · 17/12/2008 21:02

aw kew, bless your mum
but hoping it arrives tomorrow

ros, glad you had a lovely time with ds1. try to get some rest.

have just vented my spleen in an email to building boss fella...actually, it was very measured and calm, considering...lots of expressing my disappointment - always fare more effective than bile, don't you think?

stepfordwife · 17/12/2008 21:03

ooh, i'm off to watch that chocolate toff on the TV..i heart him
toodlepip

sparklyxmasfairy · 17/12/2008 21:04

Kc fingers crossed

hi Ros have emailed you with details about Kew
hope things are ok and lovely that you and ds1 had a nice time

am ok thanks just sore throat atm dd still has an awful cough and I kept her in from nursery today
but it is driving me mad

SushiMummy · 18/12/2008 08:39

QC - any news? Your comment re GP, I suppose if you get GP's note then you can claim insurance?

Good morning everyone.

sparklyxmasfairy · 18/12/2008 09:02

good morning all

another home day

btw do you, CBeebied fans, know that Chris and Pui are leaving? Sarah Jane is back
I should get a life

fingers crosses still KC our postie only drops by at 11

SushiMummy · 18/12/2008 09:22

sfx - oh no! I love Chris and Pui. They have the right chemistry between them, don't they? (Although I'm sure it's a non sexual type.) I like Sara Jane but not as much as C&P or Justin. DS loves Justin (or Mr Tumble). Hope you feel better soon.

sparklyxmasfairy · 18/12/2008 09:26

oh yes love C&P and Justin I think his job is safe, apparently C&P are doing a new show a bit like Tikkabilla so not totally gone but I quite like them on continuity
i think the CBeebies boards are awash with tributes

AtheneNoctua · 18/12/2008 10:06

Mornin' everyone.

My head hurts today. We had a Christmas party for work yesterday at a pub in Wandsworth. Had much fun. So much fun I for my bloody laptop at the pub... oops! Have to go get it at lunch time. What a buffoon (how does one spell "buffoon"?) I am.

I sympathise, Kew. DD and I went to Paris last June. Two days before the flight I realised her passport had expired. I was in a mad panic to get one issued, which I managed at about 7pm the night before the early morning flight. Oops! For £100 you can get a passport issued on the same day, but this might only be for renewals.

xoxo- Lovely to see you! How are you? And when can I meet the lovely new little oxo? Name?????

MaSTARRecycle · 18/12/2008 10:20

Kew good luck for this morning - AN as ds wasn't born in Britain its not as simple as getting a passport on the day - bet Kew wishes it was!

oxo congrats on the birth of dd - meant to say lovely name - AN - she has my first name and dd2's middle name.

Auntie - brace is settling down remarkedly well, not hurting at all. I saw Robin something or other - don't think he was called Patel. But he was dishy as well (is that a prerequisite of being at the practice!) Congratulations on your excellent appraisal, well done you. That's one thing I miss being a contractor, never feeling valued or worthwhile.

Steppie - how awful for you about the builders. Hoping that today brings you some better news.

AtheneNoctua · 18/12/2008 10:24

Yeah yeah... so realise now I didn't read very well. Obviously thought it was a British passport.

So, middle name is same as DD1 or DD2?
