OP posts:
mygreatauntgriselda4christmas · 21/12/2008 20:31

Slng - gorgeous pic of your DS1 as Joseph!!

PC - shortbread sounds yummy!!!

A meet up would be nice wouldn't it?

Actually I am suprised the PC still works as the Fat Toddler climbed onto the desk just now and hurled the keyboard, the speakers and screen onto the floor

rosmerta · 22/12/2008 08:47

Auntie - you really have an active Fat Toddler don't you?

Slng, gorgeous picture of Joseph!

Pc, hope dd is feeling better. Btw, ds still insists on calling her Lola

Have got round to putting some pics of my 2 boys on profile

rosmerta · 22/12/2008 08:57

Ds2 has a follow up hearing screen today as when they did the first one they couldn't get anything from the left ear. Keep your fingers crossed its all ok!

pcworld · 22/12/2008 09:22

Ah Ros - gorgeous!!! Hope ds2's hearing screen is ok today.

sparklyxmasfairy · 22/12/2008 09:27

good morning all

ros aawww gorgeous!

pcworld PMSL cake ok but not all eaten yet leftover ham too and red cabbage guess what I am having for lunch

auntie FT most definitely feels like he needs to make his presence known

hope everyone is well today, few more things to do before driving up tomorrow

sparklyxmasfairy · 22/12/2008 09:29

slng lovely Joseph very moody pic

and Ros good luck with test

MaSTARRecycle · 22/12/2008 09:36

fingers crossed for today ros - oh your ds's are lovely - hasn't ds1 grown!

slng - what an handsome Joseph (with attitude!).

auntie - I always seem to read out "Fat Controller" instead of toddler (Thomas brain here!). What a horror - sudacream is the worst isn't it - at least it isn't white paint as dd2 decided to do at the same age - she emulsion the whole of my kitchen (can still see it in the cooker now).

pc - hope dd is better.

Kew - sorry didn't have time to post on the other thread but what a lovely gesture - no wonder you cried.

Right this is my last post before I'm offski(sorry to rub it in Kew) to Tenerife tomorrow morning. We had a lovely day yesterday - it was dd2's birthday and we went ice skating and then dh took them to the cinema. She had a few df's to join her and they slept over last night. So I have to get them all dressed and take them home. The ice skating was a scream - dd1 was the most clumsiest person who kept on going thud - am amazed she didn't break anything. Such a laugh though. I rediscovered my youth when I used to go ice skating in Richmond (if anyone remembers). Also, my sis and I were reminising about Brentford Market - anyone remember it?

Well must dash, suitcases to pack, presents to wrap, children to dress, house to tidy, bills to pay....But before I go, can I wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and Good Health.

stepfordwife · 22/12/2008 10:34

hi all
hope all well
sorry, RL too much --of a friggin pain delightfully busy to post at mo

but just wanted to say..
ros, you've got two beautiful boys there (yes, yes, i know 3 including dh!). good luck with ds1's hearing test..

sing..what a fab joseph!

kew..how lovely. especially after time you've had
auntie. yep, they certainly - cur twee expression - keep you on your toes, eh?

sfx, clementine cake sounds YUM..

mrsr have a lovely time in tenerife. oh, to feel a bit of sunshine!

pc - hope dd is better

well, builders still working to get us something vaguely suitable to eat in for christmas day and me and the little fellas have all been ill - them much worse than me - have packed them off with their hacking coughs and wheezy chests to dr with dh for some hard drugs.

tbh, looks likely (if oven working) we'll be eating our christmas meal in front room on our knees a la royle family.
but know what? so what? a cliche as it sounds, we're all happy, healthy (well not at mo, but ykwim)

and you've just got to look at bigger picture - a new kitchen is for life not just for christmas..

actually, have had offers from friends/neighbours away for christmas to use their places, but not sure i'm not up to leaving their pristine abodes in the uber-sparkly state we found them!

anyhow will stop droning on now
toodlepip

stepfordwife · 22/12/2008 10:35

oh, and would be up for a meet-up - with los or --even better perhaps without..
sorry, does that make me a bad mother?

stepfordwife · 22/12/2008 10:42

and, deep breaths, going shopping with dh soon
and it's not a happy union of shopping styles..

steppie's idea of faffing about shopping; start with a cappuccino to make lists; wonder about aimlessly wondering what to buy people; browsing; have another cappuccino; make phone calls to sister to ask what to get for ma; spot of lunch maybe; suddenly fret i've got nothing to wear for christmas day and should i buy a frock - think, at 45, some girlie genes are beginning to kick in; have a cappuccino..start muttering about how i'm going tobe organised next year..is too early for glug-glug? come home empty-handed...

mr steppie's shopping style: walk in, pick up you (already know you want); pay for it; go home

sparklyxmasfairy · 22/12/2008 10:50

steppie that shopping style minus girly dress stuff is like dh drives me mad we never shop together if I actually need to get something

have a lovely time mrsR

SJ99 · 22/12/2008 11:01

Had busy wkend here, went to my friend's wedding at Richmond Park then evening recption at Holborn (v.posh!) House guests left yesterday, hopefully should be a fairly quiet week now, phew.
What is everyone doing for Xmas?

SushiMummy · 22/12/2008 11:49

Morning all.

MrsR - have a lovely time at Tenerife.

auntie - well done to keep cool after the incidnet.

steppie - LOL at the shopping style. Btw, Kew Retail Park is open till 10 pm. We were there last Friday evening and it was deserted.

Ros - DS2 is soooo cute. Good luck with the test.

slng - lovely picture of DS!

PC - hope DD gets better soon.

QC - glad you can get some money back.

sfx - domestic goddess you! All sound yummy!

SJ - we are off to Bury this Wednesday and back on Sat. Would love to see you and DSs at some point.

Hope everyone is well.

rosmerta · 22/12/2008 15:31

Sj, we're around over xmas if you fancy meeting up at all!

Steppie, lol at shopping, I'm like that as well & it drives dh mad, we never go together anymore, not even to Tescos

MrsR, hope you have a lovely time!

Ds2 still didn't pass his hearing test. The audiologist said it was on the edge but she couldn't clear him so he has to go back for more testing at the end of Jan.

mygreatauntgriselda4christmas · 22/12/2008 18:03

Ros your boys are sooo gorgeous Hope the ear test goes well !

Steppy - sympathies - I hope you have a lovely, if chaotic, Christmas Day

Has your cleaner introduced you to your new 2009 cleaner?

Mrs R - mega of your winter-sun break!! I remember Brentford Market!! Anyone remember Richmond market, down that alley way next to where Waitrose is now?

We're going to my sister's on Christmas Day. The DCs are all really excited as they will see their cousins

mygreatauntgriselda4christmas · 22/12/2008 18:05

Ros x posts

Well your DS2's hearing still may be OK - if it is not then it is so much better you get it diagnosed early on, so he can have appropriate support for his hearing. It may just be a blip - what do you think?

sparklyxmasfairy · 22/12/2008 18:22

we have to pack but apparently we threw our suitcase away whenever, and have not replaced it I was supposed to get one but sort of well didn't
AIBU texting dh and asking him to go get one on his way home

Ros isn't it really hard to measure hearing in children anyway? hope you get more definitive results at the next appointment

sushi hope you found a suitable arrangement for your visit

KewcumbersRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 22/12/2008 21:08

sfx - do you need to borrow a suitcase?

sparklyxmasfairy · 22/12/2008 21:25

no thanks Kew dh got something suitable on the way home bless him

dd is singing jingle bells in bed she looked knackered but has been caught up in the excitement of packing and wrapping etc

and thankfully dh agreed that it would be more sensible to come back on the 26th hurrah
you can have too much of a good thing

sparklyxmasfairy · 23/12/2008 09:16

happy Christmas everyone see you soon
(not sure if taking laptop yet]

SushiMummy · 23/12/2008 09:21

sfx - have a lovely Christmas to you, too.

Merry Christmas everyone!

rosmerta · 23/12/2008 09:39

Auntie/sfx, his hearing is very borderline so chances are it will be fine. He startles to noises (mainly ds1!) so I'm not overly worried about it. I think its a case of better safe than sorry!

Sfx, have a good time!

We actually had a good night last night, ds2 slept in four hour stretches, just waking for feeds. I feel human today

SJ99 · 23/12/2008 13:40

Lucky you Ros DS2 was such a good sleeper the 1st mth going 4hrs but this past wk or so he's been waking nearly every hr feeding. DS1 teething badly so is also waking up loads, oh what fun
Hope hearing test goes well next time. Are you free tom by any chance to meet up?

Sfx - almost a good excuse not to pack! have a great trip

Sushi - enjoy Bury, will email you

Auntie - enjoy it at your sisters.

Been to a xmas party today, nothing like a few mince pies & mulled wine to get you into the festive spirit!
Happy Christmas everyone

rosmerta · 23/12/2008 15:50

Sj, I'm not free tomorrow unfortunately. My parents are coming down tonight so we'll probably be going to Kew tomorrow depending on the weather! We are around from Sunday though.

SJ99 · 23/12/2008 18:53

Ros - don't worry, DS1 taken a turn for the worse and was feverish this afternoon, thankfully temp now gone down after I gave him some meds but he's still out of sorts. Probably best we have a quiet day and we can try and meet in the new year.
