Right. Plans have completely changed at last minute so we are off to Kew Gardens now. If anyone fancies meeting up - text me!

SushiMummy · 27/10/2008 10:43

Morning all.

bunyan - have a lovely time in KG. Must be really pretty this time of the year with all the leaves changing colours, etc.

QC - thanks for the ideas/links. Much appreciated! I'll pass onto our Event Consultant. How is work, still v busy?

DS is dead keen to swim now, he started walking to a big swimming pool yesterday, taking his close off at the same time and would have jumped in if I hadn't stopped him! So what's the protocol then, do we take our towels with us? Do we shower beforehand?

SJ99 · 27/10/2008 11:18

Morning

Sushi - LOL at DS eagerness to get into pool & undressing on the way I just keep his towel on the side so he's not cold for long when he gets out

Kew would be lovely today enjoy it those who are there. Only just finished brek so will be too late to join you. Anyway DS temp has come down slightly overnight, he slept a lot, waking a few times for water but will stay local today in case it flares up again.

mellow2 · 27/10/2008 16:19

SJ - Glad ds is getting better and hopefully you will get more restful nights.

Sushi - Can ds swim?

OP posts:
sfxmum · 27/10/2008 19:17

hope everyone had a nice day, lovely and sunny despite the cold

sushi like SJ I take a towel/towelling robe to poolside have quick shower then dress.
usually I am already wearing my swimsuit under my clothes and take snacks to keep dd entertained while I dress afterwards.

mellow thanks for everything today, generated amusing conversation at diner time today between dd and dh

SJ so the thing to do before baby is to drool over Daniel

Ros I think most children feel the time change a bit and it takes a few days to normalise, dh was up an hr earlier today as well but at least am not required to look after him

might do Kew tomorrow should probably get a flak first

sfxmum · 27/10/2008 19:18

that is a flask

and am looking forward to silly Spooks tonight

sillybigsausage · 27/10/2008 21:08

Oh I guess everyone is busy watching Spooooooks!!

Sushi - LOL at your DS!! I took mine for a swim lesson today and then to a witches party - am exhausted!

In Wiltshire tomorrow then working rest of week.

Will be glad to get to work on Weds so I can have a sit down!

Ros/Mellow _ I love my funky wellies (they are pink with laces) - great for the school run and anytime you have to go out in the rain. Look quite good with tights and skirt! I love them mainly 'cos no shoes have owned have ever been 100% water proof

mellow2 · 27/10/2008 22:25

Sausage - Wellies with laces! I would love to see you in them.

I would like dd to take swimming lessons. At what age do the classes start?

I've just finished watching spooks. It was certainly quite entertaining but, like sfx says, plot is quite ridiculous.

OP posts:
mellow2 · 27/10/2008 23:11

Sfx - Don't mention it.

OP posts:
SushiMummy · 28/10/2008 09:22

Morning all! Cold, innit?

Mellow - don't know if DS can swim as he has never been in a pool. He spent hours looking at people swimming then all of the sudden he started walking towards it, undressing himself. I'm not a keen swimmer (can swim but don't like water much) and this is why I haven't taken him for a swim.

sfx - you got some lovely pitures of your DD (check the pocket on the wall)!

SJ99 · 28/10/2008 09:24

Morning all

Another beautiful day

Thanks Mellow - DS still has slght fever and is very subdued & waking at night, looks like I will have to cancel plans for this week incl. preschool Not sure how I'm going to survive a week of Beebies

I think swim lessons start from 6mths onwards or you could take DD yourself a few times to see how she likes it. BTW how was the curry?

SBS - your wellies sound groovy! Enjoy Wiltshire

Sfx - Daniel doesn't do it for me I'm afraid but he does suit the role of Bond extremely well, am looking forward to the film. I remember going to see Harry Potter the wk before DS was born, had to trudge through deep snow but it was worth it!

sfxmum · 28/10/2008 09:36

good morning all

sushi will check
about swimming lessons they do groups and private single which I might get for dd, she seems to get distracted in groups and be more into play
I love swimming especially in the sea with proper waves but have not done it for so long Id probably be utter rubbish now

SJ so is it the other baby Daniel then?Xmas Grin I really fancy the evil dad Malfoy
also want to see Hunger because I think the main actor is tasty talented
hoe ds feels better

Ros hope your night was more settled

dd has a cold but no temp, she even had all her breakfast without a quibble think we will take it easy today as nursery is on tomorrow

hope all are well

sfxmum · 28/10/2008 09:37
Xmas Grin
sfxmum · 28/10/2008 09:38
Shock
SushiMummy · 28/10/2008 09:45

SJ/sfx - hope your LOs feel better soon. DS coughed a lot last night but no temp and eating OK so I sent to him to nursery.[evil mummy emoticon]

sfxmum · 28/10/2008 09:53

dd is ok really just sneezing fingers crossed nothing else shows up because i really want her to go to nursery tomorrow

think will once again try to teach her how to blow her nose, otherwise
sneeze/ scream/ mummy tissue

mellow2 · 28/10/2008 09:57

Sfx - Maybe our DDs can go for swimming lessons together seeing as how dd adores mini sfx.

Sushi - I wouldn't bat an eyelid at sending dd to pre school with a cough. We try to teach her to cover her mouth with her hand when coughing though. She came back from pre school with a very exaggerated hand over mouth gesture when coughing and saying excuse me at every cough.

SJ - Sorry to hear ds is still under the weather. Is it just the teething that's causing the temperature? Thanks for reminding me about the lentil curry. I've completely forgotten about it.

I'm going to try and make some paratha Malaysian style as well to go with the curry tonight. Unfortunately I don't have a decent recipe and my previous attempt has been disastrous. If you have any advice, it would be most gratefully received.

Dh wince everytime I say I want to make paratha again.

OP posts:
mellow2 · 28/10/2008 09:59

Sfx - Have you tried blowing your nose repeatedly in front of mini sfx? That's how dd learnt last winter. But, like I said, she has forgotten how to do it this winter.

Can you tell that love these halloween emoticons?

OP posts:
SJ99 · 28/10/2008 10:00

Sfx - definitely would choose the older Daniel if I had to Xmas Grin DS tries to blow his nose (independant streak) but never does it properly! Hope DD feels better soon.
DS has not eaten anything much since Saturday and just wants to sit and watch Beebies, not like him at all

I'm hoping DH will start taking DS swimming as I don't want him to miss out because I won't be able to take him for a while once baby is born

SJ99 · 28/10/2008 10:02

Mellow - my mum makes a mean paratha, will ask her for the recipe when I next speak to her

mellow2 · 28/10/2008 10:10

SJ - I know how you feel. It breaks my heart when dd refuses food (she's normally a glutton!) and being really quiet when unwell.

I feel the same about big Daniel. He's right for the part but not really my type.

OP posts:
mellow2 · 28/10/2008 10:10

Thanks for asking your mum for the recipe too.

OP posts:
sfxmum · 28/10/2008 10:10

mellow joint swimming might be good. I do try to show how to blow her nose but she seems to be keen on imitating grampa rather noisy style

SJ poor ds he sounds miserable but I suppose he just needs to take it easy and heal
dd is watching BOB the builder

she is currently obsessed with opposites and 'reading' street signs as well as identifying traffic signs

stepfordwife · 28/10/2008 10:24

love DC..

rosmerta · 28/10/2008 10:44

Morning, just to start with I hate dealing with banks and breathe...

Sorry to hear about the poorly dc's, hope they get better soon.

Sj, dh has started taking ds swimming on weekends as I can't really manage it anymore. I do want him to have lessons though so guess I'll have to try & find some that are on a weekend.
