there's a funny little electrical shop on Sheen high street (down near Nat west bank i think) they had fab people who fix electrical things (or can recommend if their man can;t do it). highly recommend them.

sfxmum · 13/10/2008 12:28

..er, right, so our money is being lent to banks by the govt so banks can lend it back to us at £lots interest...

know i'm not (remotely) a numbers person, but is that right?!
actually feel sorry for dh going off to work at mo (usually got office )
gloomy atmosphere, workload doubled and senior managers resigning left, right and centre..

lordy, life in the loft seems good...

stepfordwife · 13/10/2008 12:32

sorry, sfx, i can't even picture the shop kew mentions, never mind name it..(although have prob walked past it a thousand times...)

sfxmum · 13/10/2008 12:39

thanks I should really get to know my local area but can't even picture Sheen high street other than once I went to Waitrose

so at the end of Sheen lane if I turn right I should be at sheen high street right?

must drag dd down there I think

OP posts:
stepfordwife · 13/10/2008 12:43

it would be left for nat west end
would meet up with you but got a crazy few weeks work-wise
but will have our sheen cappuccino moment
arragh, is that the time? got to get dd

Kewcumber · 13/10/2008 12:43

walk up sheen lane to traffic lights and turn left cross onto park side of road and past Natwest, deli, choclate shop etc and there's a littel shop with kettles and toasters and vaccuum cleaners in the window which looks like it escaped from the 1950's. Keep think its called something snappy like "M&K appliances" or something.

stepfordwife · 13/10/2008 12:44

..are you sure it didn't close in the 1950s, too, kew?

Kewcumber · 13/10/2008 12:45

found it!

Kewcumber · 13/10/2008 12:46

Slng - saw your pics, would you recommend the place then?

Sfx - did you get your washing machine sorted?

Had a fairly quiet day, now off to write some old fashioned letters to 2 friends

sfxmum · 13/10/2008 19:29

OP posts:
slng · 13/10/2008 19:30

Hello!

SJ - park is very nice, plenty of space to run about and a couple of playgrounds. Plus it's really surreal! The only downside is that we didn't see any place to eat around there (always our priority) if you don't count the MacDonald's round the corner... Perhaps MrsR would know better. By the way I baked Madhur Jaffrey's naan bread on Sunday - it's very nice indeed.

We baked a lemon drizzle cake this afternoon. It is yummy!

I am so cross with everybody. I need a holiday. Or do you think it's a personality flaw?

sfxmum · 13/10/2008 19:33

slng saw that recipe on weekends guardian thought it would be nice for my aunts birthday next month
