Sfx - LOL at mini sfx saying enter too. Dd keeps telling me she needs her own Macbook (Apple notebooks) as dh and I have one each. LOs don't know how lucky they are.

sfxmum · 09/10/2008 15:13

sushi will ask him as I switched off after 'you can have mine'

mellow dd got my old latitude dell which runs on linux she is very happy with it and loves her email address fairy.(minisfxname) at google mail dot com

SJ it is impressive still if they have an interests just keep feeding it I say

SushiMummy · 09/10/2008 15:15

sfx - thanks!

Today, I discovered what 'mooncup' is.

sfxmum · 09/10/2008 15:21

never too late sushi but just shows you don't waste much time on MN

dd wants to go to nursery more often, maybe we will increase the days in January to one more morning but I think we will leave it at that
tbh this is working well and I do treasure the time to myself being able to exercise without getting up really early and going out in the dark am hopeful I will escape depression this winter, feel so much better

SJ99 · 09/10/2008 15:34

That's great she's enjoying it so much. I might wait til summer term before increasing DS session to one more. He loves it but too much going to make any more changes atm.

I'm clueless about technology, sorry don't know what mooncup is

sfxmum · 09/10/2008 15:40

SJ you don't need a mooncup now

Sausage: I believe the plural of bollox is arses . works even better if they are big and fat.

have read messages on swimming. it made me tired. must go lie down for rest.

really must get room ready for baby oxo; however it entails waddling up two flights of stairs.... and I still have a few weeks yet....

SJ99 · 09/10/2008 16:42

Thanks Sfx, didn't know such a thing existed. Thought it had something to do with iphone

rosmerta · 09/10/2008 18:11

hi all

Bunyan/mellow, nice to see you both today, thanks for having us round bunyan!

Sj, am impressed with minisj! Ds can count & sing the alphabet song (a bit jumbled up though!) but shows no interest in learning what they look like so am not going to push it. His current interest is shapes, he likes to draw them & tell me what shapes things are.

Have ordered ds's bed finally, should be with us next week! Am preparing to be spending lots of time putting him back in it!

sillybigsausage · 09/10/2008 19:04

Oxo - Tee Hee Hee!!

...and I do love the word "waddling"...its so descriptive

Show off time: I walked 14 miles round Richmond Park yesterday morning in my MBTs!! The weather was so lovely I just wanted to stay in there forever!!! Legs didn't half ache afterwards. Went for a swim just now and could hardly mover LOL!!!

sillybigsausage · 09/10/2008 19:05

Oxo and Ros and SJ - can you remind me of your popping dates again?

Am soo - would love to cuddle a newborn. DS2 will look so huge compared to your new borns won't he? - will make me even more broody...

bunyanvillas · 09/10/2008 19:37

Oxo / Sausage - the correct spelling (Irish that is) is actually BOLLIX. Just so you know Sausage, when is your day off, do you fancy dusting down your passport and popping round to me for coffee? And Oxo too perhaps?

Ah - enjoying a stint in front of 'Enders with a scented candle. Interesting combo but to be fair, I don't watch too much crap telly. SFX, you have inspired me with the old candles! Have just placed an online supermarket order too as I frankly cannot be arsed trekking round, am far too busy and lazy.

SJ, fancy coming round one morning next week? You've not got long to go now eh! Come round with Ros and Mellow, maybe, depending on who is around when. Shame my mornings are cut short with the old nursery run but am around until 11.30 or a wee bit later. Lunch all takes a bit longer now that I am weaning the boy - thank goodness he loves his food.

Now, if only I had staff to rustle up some sort of dinner. Fear it will be the classic pasta 'n peas combo ...

slng · 09/10/2008 19:42

Hello!

SJ - impressed with ds! DS1 here has also started being really interested in writing and stuff. And he loves drawing. He did tell me off this evening because I couldn't stop laughing at one of his pictures ... It was a pig but it looked more like a rhinoceros, which I thought was impressive in its own way ... What's really funny is that he is completely undaunted at drawing portraits of his new friends. His friends do the same too, apparently!

Has anyone been to Northala fields? I see it on the A40 on my way to work and it looks so surreal. Might try it one of these days.

sillybigsausage · 09/10/2008 20:49

Bunyan - peas n pasta sounds yummy!!

LOL at Bollix!

Would love to come round - can generally do either Monday/Weds am

bunyanvillas · 09/10/2008 21:11

Actually it was tres boring as I also had pasta at lunchtime! Thank goodness there was some crumble left over from last night to appease me. How about Monday week?

sfxmum · 09/10/2008 21:18

sushi suggestion for ipod purchase from dh
'get the shiniest most gadgety looking newest model or he will know she does not love him enough' I might be able to get a normal answer out of him later or perhaps tomorrow

now can I use this argument with him regarding my expected Christmas present I wonder

OP posts:
SJ99 · 09/10/2008 21:23

Ros - good luck with bed transition, hope all goes well

Bunyan - thanks would love to meet up, will check when I can have car and we can sort out a meet up hopefully for next week
Well done on weaning. BTW I never get bored of pasta!

SBS - I'm due on 16th Nov but if have c-s will be around 9th Well done on walking, v.impressive!

Slng - never been to that place but it certainly looks interesting

DS seemed to show an interest in counting & alphabet around 18mths, weird thing is he instinctively reads right to left & has done since about that age. He's getting better at reading letters/numbers the right way round these days. I definitely don't push him as I'm not a great believer in early schooling etc but while he's interested I do try to encourage him. If only he would show the same interest to eating and potty training....

MrsRecycle · 09/10/2008 21:37

quick post on my iPhone - hi all. Slng that place is ds local park with cm just down the road from me.

Dd1 looked great in her vict outfit with her homemade bread (thanks fir tip on tepid water slng). No Internet connection at home at mo. Dentist cancelled this morning and next appointment Monday - first day of my new contact. Lucky the contract hasn't turned up yet so won't start until it does.

Our house is officially on the Market - all done whilst du away in Germany working.

Bunyan if contract doesn't materliase I might be able to pop over as well.

Sbs are you in romney this weekend?

slng · 09/10/2008 22:19

Hello MrsR! Thought you might know about the place. It looks really a bit mad and alien, and I feel strangely compelled to visit. Does DS like it?

SJ - not a great believer in schooling either but am a great believer in teaching them anything they are interested in. The idea is to immunise them against school.

Bunyan - can I come too if I manage to escape work?

Kewcumber · 09/10/2008 22:22

Sushi - before I forget tell your DH that my mum and I have looked at the bungalows by the railway line and have decided that you should indeed buy one of them. We have decided that it is the right thing to do so save yourself the hassle of making his/your mind up - just go harrass old lady into moving and get someone to buy yours.

There, sorted.

stepfordwife · 10/10/2008 05:48

oops. it's dropped off my threads..so here we go..
hello everyone
hope you're all well..
been hectic with work and that life malarkey..
even feeling a bit, whisper it, stressed. hence up early - might as well do some MN work, if i can't sleep, eh?

dh also had a horrible week aty work - had to sack 2 people and cut contractors' rates (contractors at his bank get paid a bloody fortune anyway, but suppose that's not the point..)
he was upset having to do it..under that auusie/geordie exterior is a big softie, i tell ya...

sauasage at 14-mile walk. freak.
kew, how are the drugs doing?

oxo, SJ and ros...not long to go now, eh?

bunyan, was about to invite myself to your coffee morning - if you don't mind southern irish folk {wink] but think it's half-term that week.
but would be lovely to meet you soon - and if the builders ever get their (rather pert) arses out of the place, you're - and anyone else - welcome to come over. (anyone's welcome anyway, but a bit cramped and you might have to cement a few bricks or something!)

stepfordwife · 10/10/2008 05:49

aussie even..

kew, are you and ds watching the footie tomorrow?

stepfordwife · 10/10/2008 06:52

sushi...is your heart set on aforementioned auld dear's house, then?

kew, hope to god know you're joking about harassing her..
but reminds me when dh and i house-hunting and the estate agent hinted strongly - we could easily get the owner - who had special needs - to lower his price.
told him exactly what i thought of him
wasn't very laydeeeeee-like

(mind you, my morals weren't really put to the test as wasn't interested in the house, but like to think they would have struggled won through)

right, work is over, my girleen is awake..let the daily hell school run fun commence...
toodlepip

stepfordwife · 10/10/2008 07:18

ds2 just looking at some old pics of me..
"mum, are these from the 1860s?"

had to share with the class

slng · 10/10/2008 07:29

Have taken myself away from breakfast table temporarily to restore good humour. Honestly. Who invented getting-ready-for-school?

Steppie - LOL at 1860s. I have seen you and you don't look that old!

Won't put it past Kew to harass old lady - after all she's killed yeast, attempted to murder accountants, and goodness knows what she's done to the platelets.

Must get back to breakfast table. Chaos breaking out.
