Ta for link Sfx - will check out compilation. Did RA still look the same?!

MrsR - glad you're feeling better.

Went out to feed ducks this morning and saw and advert for 'Henry V' outdoor performance might see if I can get tickets. Anyone else interested?

COV - if you ever have trouble offloading cakes I can give you a hand

sfxmum · 16/06/2008 14:49

SJ nothing like patriotic speeches on a summers evening where and who plays Henry?

KC I would not be very impressed surly git that he is, looks the same but quite relaxed and did not have the 'I am a celebrity look at me' like some I could mention

mrsR your dh sounds lovely bless him

SushiMummy · 16/06/2008 14:52

Afternoon all.

The open day was good - we like the school. Kids seem happy and OMG they are so well-behaved, even at nursery class! We don't know till October if DS has a place but really hope he'll get one. The only downside is that we have to provide his lunch.

Paddle - do you use Virgin Media? We have been offered this deal with them and they are pretty good (price and package both).

Paddlechick666 · 16/06/2008 14:55

sushi, yes i switched to VM for tv, phone and broadband in december last year.

i cut my monthly outgoings by 50% and get cheap international calls etc.

if I got rid of my TV+ I would save even more but I'm lazy.

when i move again I will probably buy one of those TV recorder thingies and ditch the cable TV all together.

ComeOVeneer · 16/06/2008 15:17

SJ I would be interested in Henry V. As sfx says "where and when" (and more importantly can you promise good weather?

SJ99 · 16/06/2008 15:18

We have VM for phone & broadband, pretty cheap with free calls. We have Tv recorder, I don't bother with their TV package as I don't watch enough to justify it. Glad you liked the school, when will DS start Sept 09?

Sfx -it's a local theatre (Mary Wallace) so have no details of artists. Will call and see if they have any tickets for 8th July.

SJ99 · 16/06/2008 15:19

Bound to be good weather as it's an outdoor performance

SJ99 · 16/06/2008 15:22

Here is link

sfxmum · 16/06/2008 15:26

amateur dramatics on a summer's evening by the river bring on the Pimm's

and thankfully just a bus ride away

Kewcumber · 16/06/2008 15:30

I saw the delicious Adrian leicster in that at South Bank in the days when I used to go to the theatre [sob]

sfxmum · 16/06/2008 15:32

Adrian Lester's voice makes me weak at the knees dh was looking at me funny when I kept babbling on about what lovely voice he had during Jackanory junior on CBeebies

SJ99 · 16/06/2008 15:33

Have just rung them and bought 2 tickets for 8th July (as this is night DH most likely to not travel). Tickets £10 each if you book before 4th July. Hope others can make it too on this night otherwise it's running all week. You have to bring your own seating/rugs/food but there will be a bar available

sfxmum · 16/06/2008 18:32

btw this friday it will be late opening at kew for picnics etc, what are the chances of nice warm weather?

rosmerta · 16/06/2008 19:56

Hi all, back from Somerset now (I know I said we were going to Devon but my geography isn't that great!). Had a nice week, though a few grumps & tantrums from ds when we wouldn't let him play in the arcade!

Congratulations oxo!

Sorry, I have caught up but can't remember much else!

Anyone fancy meeting up this week?

rosmerta · 16/06/2008 20:16

Oh and we came back to find a little visitor in the kitchen! Dh bravely tried to shoo the mouse out of the back door with ds's golf club but the mouse dodged & ran behind the washing machine. Now have to try & tempt it into the trap!

sfxmum · 16/06/2008 20:33

hi Ros welcome back LOl at geography miscalculations, London now dear west London to be more precise

SJ paddle will email you in a little while, after dd asleep

fitfox · 16/06/2008 20:37

Ros, was it a Sun holiay break?

We have one coming up soonish

How was it?

MrsR thanks for your kind thoughts - it was DD's party which was stressful (think: lots of Spanish divas with vey muddy shoes on my new white kitchen floor!).

DS1 is partying at the Fountain in Brentford

Well - with regard to all the music talk - dunno what the feck you lot are all on about TBH!!!

Give meThe Archers any day!!!

rosmerta · 16/06/2008 21:11

foxie, it was indeed our Sun break. It was fine, Butlins pretty much what we expected but the town itself (Minehead) was pretty nice. We also had the joy of being able to watch Britain's Strongest Man being filmed

sfxmum · 16/06/2008 21:44

we have stayed a couple of times in Barrington a small village in Somerset and have made the journey down to Minehead, have to say I have been to the Butlins for work and it was fine, good swimming for kids

fitfox · 16/06/2008 21:51

Butlins??? I have never been to one of those!!

I aways imagined Butlins to be slightly mightmarish (...not quite sure why) but probably fabulous for kids!!

We're off to Devon - not Butlins but holiday camp on sea front.

Can't blardy wait TBH!!!

The location is supposed to be mega beautfiful (..if only I could recall the name of it...)

sfxmum · 16/06/2008 21:55

it was fine we took some clients SN and found it quite friendly with plenty to do

Paddlechick666 · 16/06/2008 22:11

We went to Butlins at Burnham on Sea in 2004 with the sds.

It was awful! I called it Asbo Land!

SJ99 · 16/06/2008 22:32

Welcome back Ros, hope you had a good holiday Have you caught the intruder yet?

Have been to various Butlins (except Burnham on Sea!) when younger had really enjoyed them. You have to just expect them to be pretty cheesy and naff but the facilities are really good.

sfxmum · 17/06/2008 09:02

good morning all, hope everyone is well

we are thinking of going swimming and/or Kew, should anyone want to join us

dd is really ken on going back to the 1o'clock club sometime soon, hope the weather holds

sfxmum · 17/06/2008 11:53

all best plans....
