New thread for new month!

OP posts:
SJ99 · 04/04/2008 19:23

PC - Nice to catch up with you & DD, so glad the banana bread was worth the effort. I had a very tired little bunny on my hands after you left who was still talking about their bike rides at bedtime

Sfx - good luck finishing your essay. Don't know of any piercing places, sorry. Glad DD enjoyed Kew, that's funny she found a double for DS

Slng - will put WP on places to check out, could be worth a trip sometime

Right, need to find take away menu. DH having a night out in M/cr so I think I deserve a treat too!

sfxmum · 04/04/2008 20:03

sulking here as dh said 'no telly for you until essay done' but it is the Torchwood finale I cried - NO with finger wagging, he must have got that from dd.

well anyway

paddle presentation only counts if you entering the cake in village fete for home consumption it is the taste test really.

SJ enjoy your take away, take aways remind me of moving which is the only time we ever have one.

slng waving objects is an ancient form of greeting

thanks mellow dd has her days.

ok let me get the kid to sleep - funny dh did not offer to do that

bunyan hope it is all going well, how is dd taking it?

sfxmum · 04/04/2008 20:05

btw it has been a while since I frequented a tattoo / piercing place where does one find those around Richmond?

Kewcumber · 04/04/2008 20:38

Hi all - thanks to steppie for chasing around after DS this morning. Tbh I wasn;t feeling well enough to be out but thought I'd go mad staying at home again! I am much better (scary thought Steppie - that cough you heard was the "better" one!) just don't really feel it IYSWIM.

Have nothing planned over the weekend if anyone is free.

Kewcumber · 04/04/2008 20:39

sfx when my holes healed up (a couple f times) I repierced them with a needle. Was a bit sore but fine and far less faff than going out. Mind you the back and fronts were still open only had to push through the middle bit.

fitfox · 04/04/2008 21:52

Hello Chicks!!

So much has happened in a few days!!

Congrats Ros that's wonderful; news - you must be reallty pleased

And congrats to Bunyan on her bundle

Paddle - sorry you are feeling but you are a gorgeous woman and you never know what will happen over the next few years! LOL at MrsR thinking I was only 41 when I had DS2!!!!! Actually I was 43!

Regarding moving - don't!

OK?

Move out a bit further if you like but somewhere where you can still commute without exhausting yourself and still be with all of your friends here

Seriously, life in the country is not ASBO free, believe me. You still get druggies etc - in fact possibly even more so. Think about what you want to do long and hard - start looking at various options until you come up with the right mix. I was seriosuly thinking of moving to Bath in the last couple of years and am so glad I didn't jump into that decision. If we move it will probably be a compromise, so we don't have to "throw the baby out with the bathwater". Think of all thre equity you will get from a London property

MrsR glad you had a nice weekend - is the pool down there nice? It sounds fabulous and am very of you having the van to escape to

Sushi - did you visit loads of rellies in Japan? LOL at your daring night out with DS. I won't tell you about when I took DS1, DD and one of DS1's friends out and returned DS1's friend to her parents stinking of cigarette smoke after visiting a workmates leaving do with the Dcs. Mind you I also took her to meet the Mayor of Ealing that evening LOL!!

WE had a fabulous 5 days - despite it being a Sun bargain, the camp was very tasteful, French and lovely - not full of Sun readers at all LOL!! We would seriosuly consider returning there and were very sad to leave. DCs loved it and we had a great and much needed rest.

Bought some nice wine on the way home too

sfxmum · 04/04/2008 22:18

Chicks!!? I am taking it a seasonally appropriate salute
glad you all had a good time.

KC I don't mind inflicting pain on others but frankly not so much on myself, I pay someone for the privilege that sounds faintly dirty

back to essay, bets on making midnight deadline?

Kewcumber · 04/04/2008 22:37

yes sfx but I didn't have to go through labour so I feel it only fair that a degree of pain was suffered ...

Kewcumber · 04/04/2008 22:53

welcome home foxie

fitfox · 05/04/2008 00:20
Smile
mellow2 · 05/04/2008 08:53

Welcome back foxie. Glad you had a nice trp.

OP posts:
bunyanvillas · 05/04/2008 10:10

Foxie, glad to hear you had a nice trip, I would LOVE a holiday! Must look out for some similar offers as it sounds as though you got a great deal there.

SFX - well done for knuckling down to the studying! Something I have never been very good at.

PC - I will try banana bread with dd today as we seem to have about 10 bananas lurking here Yes, I am very hopeful that none of the pre-school lurgies find their way into this house at this moment in time -can you imagine?!

Desperate to get out of the house now - cabin fever has set in. Might attempt to stagger down to the Spar for a paper in a bit! dd seems to be taking everything in her stride, the only change I have noticed seems to be that as of this morning she will only answer to the name of "Dora the Explorer"!

sfxmum · 05/04/2008 11:12

LOL bunyan hi to Dora I have a fairy princess whose best friend is Thomas the tank engine

only managed to send the essay this morning mostly due to not understanding fully the differences between windows word and linux firefox do da, as far as I know it just works better and crashes far less often that microsoft but hey what do I know

  • dh helped me this morning

I went for a badly needed run while dh entertained dd and made some playdough to keep her busy this afternoon, he is now off to work, bless him.

so much banana loaf might bake one myself except we are supposed to be avoiding all that yummy stuff.

KC regarding pain that is what the drugs are for really

fitfox · 05/04/2008 14:46

Bunyan LOL at Dora the Explorer!!

I am keeping my eyes peeled for the next Sun offer too. We have another one booked in Devon for end of June (£75 for 5 people for 4 days on a beachside location!!!!!!!!!!!!!) but I will let you know if I see anymore advertised.

How are you feeling? How is it all going? Am impressed you are managing to get on here atm with a newborn (mind you they sleep for the first two weeks fdon't they?). Can't wait to see/hold her

SFX did your DH's boss tell him to lose weight??? PMSL!

It was very warm earlier - what happened eh?

Taking DS1 to a play date this arvo which now has to be planned around DR WHO AT 6.20PM!!! I certainly don't want to have to miss it 'cos I am driving to collect him or anything

Dreamt about DT last night

stepfordwife · 05/04/2008 16:47

hi all
hope you're all diddling well

kew, you're welcome! luckily, your ds kindly ran in the same direction as dd, thus streamlining chasing..
was grand to see you and i hope you're feeling better. yes, that cough! that's what you get for being a 60-a-day woman...

foxie, welcome back
glad you had a fab hols. lovely site, non? sorry, did see your post asking for tips, but not until after you'd left. let's swap notes when we meet up.

yes, i can't wait for dr who either. but FIL arrived from oz today and is coming round at 6
in tribute to new sidekick - how very dare he?
DT only does it for me with his scottish accent

bunyan - hope you and dora are enjoying the new bambino

sfx - well done for getting your essay done. when's the next one due in?

have had a lovely day with ds1 - flicks (sadly not cheapo fun kids' club), lunch and book shop. bliss.

ComeOVeneer · 05/04/2008 16:59

Hi all. Where did yerterday's lovely weather go? We have just got back from Kingston. Went to LA Tasca (Ithink that is what it is called) for lunch, it was a disaster! Half the food never arrived, the drink they gave dd had a BB date that was last year, we only checked when she said it tasted funny. DH's dessert arrived still frozen in the middle (was supposed to be hot), we had to ask for our bread and olives 3 times beofre it arrived, and in general the service was really slow. Then the bill arrived with all the missing food on it. DH kicked up a right stink, so they took of the taps we never had, gave us 2 free dessertsa plus a 25% reduction. SO it was a bargain but I doubt we will be going back!

ComeOVeneer · 05/04/2008 17:00

MrsR sorry I didn't make it last night, dh was held up until late.

stepfordwife · 05/04/2008 17:25

cov..presume you didn't tip then?
lovely wedding dress, btw.
i was married in scarlet with a seven-month bump
sounds a bit kerry kantona, i know, but was relatively classy

sfxmum · 05/04/2008 18:19

Cov - shocking service you could report them

Foxie the boss did not tell him to loose weight but commented he had put on a couple of stone since he started, seems very equal ops to me

had impromptu visit from rellies which was nice and allowed me to pop to the shops by myself and get stuff for dinner. they only really come to see dd anyway

thanks for the encouragement with the studies, next one due sometime in early May I think.

steppie like the wedding style so did no one wear white?

rosmerta · 05/04/2008 18:48

I wore a champagne colour dress, so not white but probably the closest?

Lausy · 05/04/2008 21:11

Hi guys,

I've just come over from the previous thread (thanks Rosmerta!), am new to Mumsnet and looking for friends around Isleworth - its pretty lonely for me during the day. My DS is now nearly 7 months and I still haven't been out on a girlie night...!!!

Lau

fitfox · 05/04/2008 23:23

Hi Lau - is Lau your surname? Just asking as one of my bestest friends has the surname Lau

QWelcome and look forwiard to getting rat arsed-- meeting with you

Steppy fancy a cuppa Weds after school drop off?

SFX - !!! at your Dh's boss's comment!

So who went out on the razzle last night then? Are they too hung over to show their faces?

QC how are you feeling now?

fitfox · 05/04/2008 23:24

Ros how many weeks are you now?

fitfox · 05/04/2008 23:26

arsed not arsed

CoV that restaurant sounds terrible!!! If I ever went out for lunch I would thank you for the tip off, but I am not likely to go there in the near future. In my next life I will be a millionairess with 24 hour nanny support and will just lunch all day!

ComeOVeneer · 06/04/2008 09:19

Morning all. Well what is going on with the weather? Friday I was wearing a short sleeved t-shirt and we had a picnic supper in the park. Today we have woken up to several cms of snow and it isn't letting up. The lo's are champing at the bit to get out there and play. AM supposed to be driving to IL's for lunch, but am wondering if I can use the weather as an excuse not to .
