OP posts:
slng · 06/04/2008 09:33

Morning all! We are going to out play in the snow! Yeah!!!

sfxmum · 06/04/2008 10:17

good morning all

welcome Lau, I am sure you will find someone to meet up with and we are planning an evening out toward the end of the month.

KC hope you are feeling better now

dh and dd are now sipping hot chocolate after being out playing in the snow (gives it a whole new meaning to April showers)

sensibly I had a lie in then hot coffee in the sofa looking out at the pretty white stuff

Lausy · 06/04/2008 10:18

No my first name is Laura but every one either calls me Lau or Lozza.

So where do you guys usually meet and How often?

Re: that restaurant, we went to the la tasca in Ealing recently and ordered the seafood paella and it came out so salty we both has one bite of it and left the rest, we told the waiter about it and he just shrugged! I don't think he understood us to be honest...

I won't be going there again! I was quite annoyed as it was the first night me and DH had left DS with a friend to babysit so wanted it to be a really nice night

Paddlechick666 · 06/04/2008 10:27

morning all, we're defrosting after a nearly an hour outside with lots of snow play!

wiggles are on now and dd can jump about as much as she wants after neighbours very noisy evening last night.

i think he's being really clever because virtually bang on 11pm it all quiets down

welcome lau, i used to be in isleworth but we just moved a bit further out. my dd is nearly 2.5 and i work full time. don't get much opportunity for evenings out but hope will get to meet you at some point.

ComeOVeneer · 06/04/2008 10:47

Well back in from the snow lo's supping hot choc and watching high school musical (for the zillionth time). Need to get ready to drive to IL's for lunch (yay). I was hoping the weather would be too bad, but don't think it really is.

Paddlechick666 · 06/04/2008 11:29

huff! the snowman we built outside dd's room has been kicked down already.

dd now telling me we can go and build another one later

need to send her to Foxie's dd's training camp so she can appreciate snuggling up with chocolate in front of an audrey hepburn movie!

ComeOVeneer · 06/04/2008 11:42

Damn it has stopped snowing and it is all beginning to melt. Guess I have to head out then. Catch you all later.

stepfordwife · 06/04/2008 12:41

hello all
yeep, that's what i love about this country - sunnyu day in kew gardens friday, massive snowball fights in street by friday..

this rather good-looking teenager knocked on door asking boys to come and and have a snow ball fight. lovely to see everyone out having fun..well until snowball-triggered car alarms started going off one by one..

dh was clutching his (bald) head complaining of head-freeze after i got a bit vigorous..well it was in defence

foxie, yes please to wednesday after i've dropped dd off. that'll be fab. FIL will be taking ds1 and ds2 out.

well, missed most of dr who last night, but will catch repeat tonight to console myself after waving dh off to mumbai.
was it any good?

have a snuggly sunday, all
toodlepip

stepfordwife · 06/04/2008 12:42

by sunday even...

stepfordwife · 06/04/2008 12:43

..and welcome lau

sfxmum · 06/04/2008 16:44

I am having a thoroughly self indulgent day, striving to be away from dd and dh as much as possible well you could have too much of a good thing and I really needed alone time
now where is my family....

Paddlechick666 · 06/04/2008 17:00

hey sfx, i want your life

if i knew where he was you could have my H and unlimited alone time

the only evidence of this morning's snow is now two rather sad looking lumps of ex-snowman outside our window

steppie lol @ scarlet woman and head freeze.

tried to do a jigsaw with dd and she lost interest half way thru. managed to avoid dreaded paints tho!

fitfox · 06/04/2008 18:35

Paddle fancy you remembering that about DD!! She has suddenly got very long and skinny and Hepburnesque in the last two weeks (my DCs always grow loads during school holidays). DS1 seems huge...

Real shame about your snowman! Are the neighbours now quiet between 11pm and 8am???

Steppy just to let you know I did several lengths breast stroke today. We had a fabby day - Church in snow, homework with DCs and completing Ancient Egypt project, me half completing a job application and then I had THE most fabulous swim with my friend. The pool is sublime and it was empty for about 40 minutes so I could splash around without worrying about looking like a prat. It was soooooo luvverly

SFX your day sounds fabulous too - a bit of Me Time eh?

fitfox · 06/04/2008 18:36

Paddle LOL at your comment about H!!

When do I get to have a cuppa with you then? Can I come and visit your new pad soon?

SJ99 · 06/04/2008 18:37

Hello all

Glad everyone enjoyed the snow, I was a definite hot choc stay indoors girl today. DH took DS out but DS didn't like the snow in his face!

Welcome back Foxie - trip sounds fab

Hello Lau - I'm in Twickers with DS 2.4yrs old, hope to see you sometime

Well after much deliberating, we've decided to put in an offer on a house. We had 2nd viewing yesterday and although it's not our preferred style of home (it's a town house) it ticks all the other boxes. Not holding my breath they'll accept, but wish us luck...

Enjoy your evening

Paddlechick666 · 06/04/2008 18:40

oooh SJ, exciting times. keep us posted. is it where you mentioned the other day?

foxie, would be lovely to see you. feel very that i haven't relieved you of that maternity stuff.

may be away next weekend viewing houses tho so not sure when would be good.

am veering towards not moving now tho, really cannot decide. it always seems to be about the GPs tbh.

SJ99 · 06/04/2008 19:14

Yes, it's the one in Hampton Wick, close to the bridge to Kingston (handy for shopping!)

Good luck for your house hunt too, but obviously I hope you don't find anything you like

slng · 06/04/2008 19:24

SJ - DS2 doesn't like rain or wind in his face. Walks with hand on brow with palm upturned, very dramatic, but moaning and groaning all the way. Managed to get him out today though and he has become reconciled to snow. Good luck with house!

Lausy · 06/04/2008 19:44

God its so nice to finally read and have some normal conversations with adults who aren't my DH!!!

sfxmum · 06/04/2008 19:56

hi again well they got back in time to cook dinner etc.
must say it wasn't all hot bath and warm drink reading paper I did go for a frosty jog.

paddle LOL about H is he still AWOL?

foxie swimming sounds blissful

SJ good luck with the house

is Ros asleep?

hi Lau yes it has its advantages

fitfox · 06/04/2008 19:58

Lausy - hopefully you will become a Mumsnet addict like all of us!!!

Paddle - do you mean that you are now not sure you want to live near GPs???

SJ - that's very exciting!! Wanna do a link? Or is that too stalksville?

sfxmum · 06/04/2008 19:58

slng after going out to build a snowman this morning dd declared she had enough of snow and that it wasn't fun anymore as she was frozen.
she was ok to get back out later on

dd hates wind she will scream and moan all the time

Lausy · 06/04/2008 20:56

I think I already am! Slowly getting the hang of it - not sure how I'll find time to do housework now between playing Scrabulous on Facebook and talking on mumsnet I'll hardly have time to feed DS!!!

fitfox · 06/04/2008 21:00

Lausy the first day I discovered Mumsnet, I got sucked into conversations for over 4 hours. Suddenly I realised it was lunchtime already and the children hadn't even been fed and were still in their pyjamas!!

...and its been like that ever since

sfxmum · 06/04/2008 21:11

lau - not much houseproudness round here most of us are on facebook too

paddle tech girl my laptop is dying do you recommend Macbook? we never had one TIA
