New thread for new month!

OP posts:
ComeOVeneer · 03/04/2008 18:16

MrsR Not sure about tomorrow night as dh has a deadline. So count me out but if I can make it last minute could I call you on your mob?

One thing that I love (amongst many) of this thread/group is the freedom to moan our lot in life when it gets to you without feeling you shouldn't for fear of upsetting someone else. I expressed my sadness at having to accept not having a 3rd child without having to worry it would upset anyone trying/wanting a second, those expecting/have just had a second can talk about it without worrying of those who are trying etc etc. It is a very "comfortable" place to be. (Blimey I sound soft ).

ComeOVeneer · 03/04/2008 18:19

Thanks for the comment re the wedding dress sfx. I have too little colour in my skin nor hair to carry of all white/cream. My mother actually found the dress and paid for it up front (she and my father were planning on buying my dress as a contribution to our wedding) before I had even seen it she was soo convinced it would be the one I choose. I only found this out on my wedding day

bunyanvillas · 03/04/2008 18:31

Hello from me and DS . He is very small and very cute! 6lb 14oz, 2.5 weeks early and a 2 hour labour - imagine my surprise! Will be on more later, haven't had time to keep up with thread.

Paddlechick666 · 03/04/2008 18:32

Oi! CoV, yer not gettin slushy on us are ya?

I think Eddie Izzard is gorgeous, is that wrong? Seen him live several times. Best was in a little place called The Enmore in Sydney with my sister. We still chortle over this www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rYT0YvQ3hs which was part of the show.

bloody annoys me that he can walk in those heels !!!

Paddlechick666 · 03/04/2008 18:33

Hey Bunyan Mother of Two! DS sounds gorgeous.

Should we have a league table of fastest births?

Ros, you got something to beat there

sfxmum · 03/04/2008 18:41

2 HOURS? well done glad you and your family are well

cov - you big softie my dress was dark red and was finished the night before the wedding by a friend and it was a bit too short, but it was a corset like I wanted

love love Eddie seen in a few times too ditto the heels

SJ99 · 03/04/2008 19:14

I got married in maroon. It's a lovely photo COV, you remind me of Kirsten Dunst in that picture

Bunyan - 2hrs, hooray for your little rocket, hope you're all doing well

Paddle - you wouldn't be human if you didn't feel the way you did, don't feel bad about 'moaning', we all have some days when we don't cope as well with our emotions than on other days

Ros - really nice to catch up with you & your DS earlier, congrats again!

Steppie - totally agree, don't know how that Jenny woman got away with it, she seems v.devious

rosmerta · 03/04/2008 19:53

aaggghh, you've let it slip on who got fired!! Oh well, maybe I should put a bet on with dh when we watch it [evil grin]

Thanks for having us over sj, ds enjoyed himself, he was still screaming on the bus

Dh out for the night & I now can't be bothered cooking so I've just ordered a pizza!

rosmerta · 03/04/2008 19:53

congrats bunyan, hope you're both doing well!

mellow2 · 03/04/2008 22:12

2 hours must be a record, bunyan. You'll have to post pictures of your ds when you have time.

Good morning all!

We have a free day today! But kids are being unambitious and want to play at home! No doubt they will get cabin fever by about 9. Outing choice at the moment include Hyde Park (sand), Bushy Park (sand), Kew Gardens (balloons (!!??)) and Ealing Broadway (bus and train)... Anyone care to join us if we do go anywhere?

Paddlechick666 · 04/04/2008 07:54

morning

kew gardens balloons? what's that all about then?

we have pre-school this morning then home for lunch and planning to make banana bread for the first time this afternoon.

my baking skills are not particularly well developed.

thinking of Kneller Gardens playground after that as not sure how long the baking will take!

MrsRecycle · 04/04/2008 12:29

No problems COV - I'll have my mobile so ring me - we're meeting in Ealing around 8pm.

slng - would love to come but stuck in an office on this glorious day.

AP is baking with DDs today as well must be the day for it.

slng · 04/04/2008 14:01

I don't know what's with Kew Gardens balloons either. Who knows what goes on in those loony funny little minds... In any case we ended up in Walpole park and then pancake for lunch. Everyone is supposed to be napping at the moment. Me too!

sfxmum · 04/04/2008 15:33

hello all

this site seems to have been down this morning. we spent a good few hrs running around Kew gardens which was really nice there are duckling in the lake and moorhens chics in the pond dd seemed more interested in sticks and in a little old lady called Eileen.

no way can I go tonight, last night my laptop kept switching itself off it took me ages to work out that the battery case was loose so it was running out of power, very frustrating

SJ99 · 04/04/2008 15:48

Hello

Yes I tried site earlier and couldn't get on it. Had a lovely walk round Kew towards the Pagoda this morning, weather is gorgeous, sorry we missed you Sfx. Didn't spot any balloons

Slng - where is Walpole park, any good?

Ros - just realised can't do next Thurs as DH coming back from Bristol early that afternoon, can we meet Tues or Weds pm instead?

Enjoy yourselves tonight those of you going out

MrsRecycle · 04/04/2008 15:48

what a lovely story sfx - my late-GM was called Eileen and used to frequent Kew (she used to take me on 65 bus). Sorry you can't make it - don't work too hard.

slng · 04/04/2008 16:10

SJ walpole park is in Ealing Broadway, where Pitshanger manor is. There's a playground and an animal rescue sanctuary with foxes and owls etc, and a very very small stream, where we spent most of our time this morning. And plenty of room to run about. The big upside as I see it is there's plenty of eating places nearby! The 65 will get your there. I love the no. 65 bus.

sfxmum · 04/04/2008 16:12

dd loves little old ladies it is very amusing to watch because she does turn on the charm.
-hello I am mini sfx

  • hello my name is Eileen
  • it is nice to meet you Eileen
after that they are putty

hope dh manages to get home early tonight I think he might do some hrs tomorrow too, can't be helped I guess.

SJ dd run after a kid in C&C saying it was yours,he was a little bigger but she wasn't far off

sfxmum · 04/04/2008 16:26

can I just ask where does a grown woman get her ears pierced? mine have closed, little use after dd was born.
I only know about Claire's but i think they have a door policy of no one over 20

bunyanvillas · 04/04/2008 17:18

Ros, congratulations! Great news Hope everyone else is well, little time to keep up with thread at the moment. PC, good luck with the banana bread, sounds yum! Prob won't keep for long so you'll have to eat it all asap

mellow2 · 04/04/2008 18:27

Hello everyone,
We had lunch and then went shopping! What a glorious day.

Sfx,
Mini-sfx is so cute. Maybe she can teach dd to turn on the charm.

OP posts:
slng · 04/04/2008 18:54

sfx - DC's charm consists exclusively of waving little cars/trains/hammers at people. Don't think it works very well, especially the hammers ...

Paddlechick666 · 04/04/2008 19:12

evening all, banana bread is edible therefore a success.

took 35mins longer than the recipe said it would to cook and still came out missing the bottom half. it's a very moist and dd scoffed it so that works for me.

sj, great to see you earlier, sorry we were so late but it was the banana bread

sfx, strongly suggest a tattoo/piercing place. they will do it much less painfully for you.

bunyan, pre-school had a big sign announcing ds and sending congrats to you all. let's hope the foot n mouth, chicken pox and nits haven't followed us home today

hope you all have a nice evening.
