New thread for new month!

OP posts:
slng · 16/04/2008 20:51

Evening all! I discovered that DS1's trousers are all getting holey around the knees and for some unfathomable reason felt really pleased. He's a proper little boy! (I'm sure little girls do that to their trousers too ...)

(I need to get a life. Or some wine ...)

fitfox · 16/04/2008 21:48

slng - no its mainly a boy thing, unless the girl falls over rather badly

Paddlechick666 · 16/04/2008 21:54

hello

sorry no time to catch up, things are truly crazy.

CM called at 9am to say DD projectile vomiting.

DM did a mercy dash to collect her as I had meetings back to back all day. Including my 1:1 with my boss - which happened because I have a new boss! was a bit like a job interview and quite unnerving.....

Had car fixed so sat nav would work but it's blown again

Jokey comment in this pm's meeting had me rushing to check passport when I got home.

So, yup, I fly to the US a week on Sunday and my passport expired in February.

ARG!

Paddlechick666 · 16/04/2008 21:55

ps: Asbo boy celebrated his 21st last night. they warned me, I said no prob but please could you not slam the door all night.

even wished him a happy birthday!

so dd is awake half the evening thru the bloody door slamming.

anyone got any packing boxes?

mellow2 · 17/04/2008 08:13

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Now you know why your boss kept cancelling on you! He was leaving his job but he couldn't tell you.

OP posts:
mellow2 · 17/04/2008 08:13

That was meant for paddle btw.

SushiMummy · 17/04/2008 09:29

Morning all.

Paddle - sorry to hear about the neighbours (yet again!). Hope you get your passport sorted.

foxie - LOL at ginger poodle on head/lap.

sfx - thanks for booking the restaurant.

mellow - can you bring some of your yummy facial stuff on 25 April? I need some cleansing stuff (anything you recommend), Suki lotion and the carrot serum, please. TIA

QC - yes, piccies of your golden days, please.

rosmerta · 17/04/2008 09:41

Morning all,

Paddle, sorry about your neighbours. What's your new boss seem like?

Not sure what we're up to today, weather looks a bit rubbish. I'm off to Manchester this evening so better get some underwear dried!

slng · 17/04/2008 11:47

Morning!

We are going shoes-buying, swim-nappy buying, park-playing, birthday-present buying, new-set-of-clippers buying, and dinner probably at the natural cafe this afternoon in Ealing Broadway if anyone is brave enough to venture north.

(Though to be realistic it's probably going to be just shoes, park and tea..., and if it rains, no park even. These days everything takes forever because I let DS2 walk instead of pushchair.)

Kewcumber · 17/04/2008 11:50

I think I have some swim nappies spare if you want them DS doesn't really need them anymore.

slng · 17/04/2008 12:14

Kew are they disposables or reuseables?

Kewcumber · 17/04/2008 12:15

these are disposables but I think I have one reusable as well.

slng · 17/04/2008 12:21

Would like a reuseable please if it's anywhere handy. We've got 2 and he's grown out of one and the other one is prickly with velcro. Funny to see him with tummy hanging out. Bit like me... but neither of us care fortunately ...

Kewcumber · 17/04/2008 12:23

I'll see if I can find it an check what size it is - how old is he?

slng · 17/04/2008 12:32

He's just turned 2. Don't go to too much trouble though! Most reusables seem to be for only up to 2yo... I expect they expect them to be potty-trained by then. Hm.

SJ99 · 17/04/2008 13:20

Hello all

Haven't been on much as been sorting house stuff & doing things with my mum. Mortgage situation is a bit of a nightmare, not many good deals on and the good ones have 1mth turnaround as opposed to few days

KC - yes would be nice to meet up Sat am, I think we'll get there around 10.30am, is that ok? Anyone else for animals? DH does normally have DS on Sat am but I think I'm switching for Sunday this wkend

Sfx - late reply, sorry but I don't know the name of the song from wedding I just recognised it as MA.
Also meant to ask how is your shoulder pain now?

Ros - have fun in M/cr, are you going up as part of your course?

Phil Collins PMSL sorry Sushi. Never had a perm but can confess to having big hair and wearing shoulder pads in the 80's

sfxmum · 17/04/2008 14:03

hello all just back from consulate hell - they are freaks.

SJ am fine thanks all good enjoying running etc but probably should still go to boob clinic, doesn't hurt but feels odd.

dd has been playing with babysitters apparently dressing up games

SJ was listening to radio 4 at the weekend I think one of their money programmes and they recommended a few mortgages both for first time and renewal, can't remember what they were but maybe you can see on the website

slng happy shopping

hope everyone ok

Kewcumber · 17/04/2008 14:08

they are Portuguese - what do you expect?

sfxmum · 17/04/2008 14:27

quite yet I am normal

Kewcumber · 17/04/2008 14:37
Hmm
SJ99 · 17/04/2008 14:40

So, did you get what you wanted from consulate hell?

Think will head out by river soon, cold but nice outside

PC- good luck with sorting your passport out, hope new boss is better than former one

sfxmum · 17/04/2008 14:52

ok sort of anyway KC

SJ I will have my ID card in 2 months but it will be in my maiden name, because I need a valid ID card to change marital status which I can do after registering the marriage at the embassy after paying nearly £100

don't get me started

rosmerta · 17/04/2008 14:57

kew, going back to ds's speech, I got a report from the speech therapist that ds saw today & they've scheduled another session in for him in a couple of months time. Seems that although he's doing ok they are following up to help him start to put words together. I know you were thinking it might be better to wait but it seems like they would be helpful now as well.

Otherwise if you like, I can send the leaflets to you that they gave me at the last appt. Gives you an idea of what you can do to do to help ds.

I'm rambling on a bit there I know but thought it might help

mellow2 · 17/04/2008 14:59

SJ,
Have a look at www.moneysupermarket.com. They list 95% of the mortgages on the market and the best deals.

I think you'll find the building societies slower to move than the banks but offer better rates and much stricter lending rules.
