Kewcumber · 16/04/2008 09:52

stepfordwife · 16/04/2008 09:57

have confirmed, sfx
yes, i have the dulcet tones of a fish wife walking near roads, too.
this morning i heard dd saying, ahem, firmly to her dolls..
"I'm not asking you now, i'm telling you.."
wonder who she hears that from?
what's the book thief like, btw?

hope all well..still climbing my work mountain. dh got a delightful day of taking ds2 and dd (with ds1 in tow) to eltham for their latest mmr sepvacs.. work seems almost attractive suddenly..

have a good day everyone
toodlepip

stepfordwife · 16/04/2008 09:58

paddle..please come out to play, too

SushiMummy · 16/04/2008 10:04

Ta, QC! All nice books. Gold!?

Kewcumber · 16/04/2008 10:09

Ha ha ha! Gold went on in a rush of nostalgia one day - reminds me of fond memories lying in bed listening to it with a university boyfriend... (well it was the 80's)

Kewcumber · 16/04/2008 10:09

won;t PAddle be in the US then?

SushiMummy · 16/04/2008 10:15

Mine is A-ha and Phil Collins.

stepfordwife · 16/04/2008 10:18

kew (and anyone else 'of the age' for a rush of late70s-early 80s nostalgia..)
go to see son of rambow..took little fellas, but think i enjoyed it even more then them.
fab sound track and the sixth form disco scene had me cringing in recognition
bit of a soppy ending but worked

stepfordwife · 16/04/2008 10:19

sushi...
phil collins?

sfxmum · 16/04/2008 10:29

oh no no Phil Collins why?

must say I did like Disco 'you make me feel mighty real' hands in the air

but the bulk of my music pref was considerably more miserable with seamless segue way into 80's guitar bands with weird detour into raves

I can't stand most pop all that chart stuff and girlies emoting and reaching high notes about Lurve bleurgh

sfxmum · 16/04/2008 10:44

while waiting for Tesco man (there goes the sun) we have been looking at bedlinen for dd - this kid is picky why did I start this?

'that's nice mummy but I don't want it'

SushiMummy · 16/04/2008 10:52

I know, I know. In my defence, I didn't own any of Phil Collins albums but we always heard these songs on radio/MTV (well, mostly in student pubs) so it kind of got my student nostaligia.

Also I had permed hair, too.

rosmerta · 16/04/2008 13:20

sushi, I had permed hair too , I remember there was a phase when it was popular for boys to have their hair permed & we always use to laugh at the thought of them sat there with the caps on etc.

Have just got back from a marathon trek to Kew. Ds did really well without the pushchair, though did get a bit upset when we had to leave the pigs.

sfxmum · 16/04/2008 13:58

ros that is great I keep failing to have the courage to do it.

as for perms I have a dim memory of having one when graduating from secondary school

Kewcumber · 16/04/2008 14:08

I never had permed hair, no siree not me nor died it bright scarlet or blonde. Nope, cos that would have looked ridiculous.

rosmerta · 16/04/2008 14:10

I did also dye my hair purple at uni. Housemates used to complain that purple dye stained the bath (it didn't btw!)

sfx, its the first time I've done it & by the time we got off the bus back home he was definitely flagging but plus side is he fell asleep straight away when I put him to bed!

slng · 16/04/2008 14:31

DC asleep. It's all quiet here. Very spooky!

sfx - funny about dreaming in portuguese. I don't remember what language my dreams are in. Hope visit goes well tomorrow.

Kewcumber · 16/04/2008 14:34

I rarely remember my dreams. I don;t think they can be very interesting.

slng · 16/04/2008 14:34

Oooh! they are awake! Everything back to noisy normal. Phew!

sfxmum · 16/04/2008 14:51

I usually have vivid dreams even worst during pregnancy, am usually not aware of dreams in a particular language but last night was pretty specific

dd has spent ages on my lap today and has told me a couple of times that she thinks she might as well stick to her baby bed and asking me if I am moving too

we told her she could move when she wants get stuff ready and hope she is keen

rosmerta · 16/04/2008 14:54

I seem to have been having some pretty horrible dreams lately, the ones where you wake up with heart pounding & sweating (sorry, probably tmi!) but don't actually remember them.

sfx, you'll have to let me know how the move goes, we're going to be trying ds in a bed later this week

sfxmum · 16/04/2008 15:00

ros the bed and mattress arrive Friday if we mange to get it sorted it will be the weekend, we have taken it in stages she knows about it and has picked things for it , but she is not having it painted pink oh no
about dreams occasionally I sit up in bed before I fully wake up hate it, but also have very nice dreams which make me giggle in the morning

KC pic of red hair please

fitfox · 16/04/2008 19:47

I had a perm once> I think the style was called "ginger poodle on head"

fitfox · 16/04/2008 19:48

...infinitely better than "ginger poodle on lap"
