hey steppie, poor old dh is not having a good head week uk.news.yahoo.com/afp/20080407/tod-health-india-pollution-transport-off-451ab4f.html

oh and how come he's buggered off on exotic travel when fil is here?

think i'm off to Utah in a week or two.

wonder how frequently dm will take dd home for a few days under the guise of me house hunting locally?

[evilgrin]

Paddlechick666 · 07/04/2008 21:26

ps: foxie, dog poo on socks? wtf? hope you retreated to the best piece of advice you've given me so far "babywipes, get's everything out!"

mellow2 · 07/04/2008 21:30

Welcome newbies.

Hi sfx,
I'm glad your sis liked the bag. Just let me know if you want to meet up. A playdate maybe?

Kew,
Sorry you're still not well.

Foxie,
That's rotten luck. I hope everything cleaned up okay.

OP posts:
sfxmum · 07/04/2008 21:45

yes mellow lets although if you come here you really need high tolerance for mess
on the plus side the dds can trash the place at will

fitfox · 07/04/2008 22:20

JUst when I thought it was safe to relax I found more dog po on my files!!!

Am beginning to suspect it may be DS1's friend's bum or DS2's bum which is the culprit - not local dogs.

Nedded more than wipes - bathroom cleaner, vanish, bleach etc

MrSR - did you get my e-mail?

Just had to have words with lodger after she has kept us awake for two nights running and now she is ina a strop. How very dare she?

Hmmpphh

Hope tomorrow is better - have a tooth operation booked at hospital (having root canal refurbished)

mellow2 · 07/04/2008 22:25

Foxie,
Sorry, you're not having a good day.

Yes, how dare your lodger be in a strop?

Good luck with the root canal tomorrow. Ouch, it sounds painful!

OP posts:
mellow2 · 07/04/2008 22:27

sfx,
No problem. Name a day and we'll be there.

OP posts:
sfxmum · 07/04/2008 22:37

foxie hope it all goes well, have done one and the only problem for me was boredom
is lodgers husband around now?

mellow - great maybe Thursday?
anyone else? I am better at baking than I am at tiding up

bunyanvillas · 08/04/2008 09:27

QC, hope the medication works its wonders soon and perhaps you'll be feeling like a new woman very soon! Foxie, hope things improve at your end.

ComeOVeneer · 08/04/2008 10:10

Would love to meet up but have a heavy social calendar for the next 2 weeks (who am I kidding, it is the children that have the social calendar I am merely chauffeur, host, chef etc etc).

Foxie I thought you had managed to find a great lodger, did I miss something?

I just received a huge parcel from America this morning of all sorts of baking, cake decorating equipment that you can't get over here, so can't wait to try it out.

Looks like I can't make this months evening out, is it to early to start a thread for a May evening?

Lausy · 08/04/2008 10:11

Morning ladies, hope you're all well. Is it possible for a baby to cut their teeth one after another literally over a couple of weeks? Dayan already has his bottom two and now he's being a grump again I'm wondering if the top two are on their way?

ComeOVeneer · 08/04/2008 10:14

Absolutely possible. Plenty of babies seem to do nothing in the teething department for ages then the teeth seem to come flying in.

slng · 08/04/2008 10:19

Basically they are a grump until about 2 (2 years old, that is, not 2pm) and then they are in a strop until about 3 (or longer). Only joking. Sorry I don't remember about teething. Never seemed to have bothered my LOs. Or maybe I've just got selective amnesia... That's more likely isn't it?

sfxmum · 08/04/2008 10:26

good morning all

Lau - yes teething goes on forever and ever and ever... LOL at slng selective amnesia best thing for it really.

will try and get dd out of the house within the next hour, at least to the playground maybe even Kew

pat on the back went for short jog this morning, people are so nice and friendly at 7.30am by the river, it freaks me out actually it is really nice

gaelsmama · 08/04/2008 12:02

sfx + ros - does weds/tomorrow work for tea at Kew? i hope tomorrow's weather is as lovely as today!

lau - i've no car either (and no one wants me driving on the wrong side of the road) but my babe and i can take a bus to meet you when you get back. i found the best teether at green baby (the baby ring rattle) in richmond: www.greenbaby.co.uk/pl_TOYS_COT-TOYS.htm

sfj99 - here oops! in richmond. kingston probably is nearby i will pick up a map today. in sf we lived in duboce triangle/castro neighborhood in the city.

Lausy · 08/04/2008 12:59

Oh cool thanks ladies, was worried there that my ds was super forward for his age in the teething dept!!

Was planning to go for my usual walk along the river but just had an hour long tantrum before falling into a tear stained sleep...! Will try and get out in the next shift instead.

Just had an estate agent round to value our flat but looks like it might be better for us to rent it out for now and see how the market goes. Q: Has anyone ever actually encountered a non-slimy estate agent???

Lausy · 08/04/2008 13:01

PS - Would love to meet up next week with anyone that's free next week, maybe I can steal DH's car in exchange for the fact that he's going to be getting a full nights sleep on Wednesday and Thursday as I'll be at my mums!!

Let me know if you want to meet and where and what day xx

bunyanvillas · 08/04/2008 14:33

Lausy, I could prob meet you for a cup of tea in The Little Olive one day next week if you fancy it? Trying to get out for a walk with ds every day ...

mellow2 · 08/04/2008 15:37

Hi sfx,
I've sent you an email.

OP posts:
rosmerta · 08/04/2008 15:38

Hi all,

Gael/sfx, if I go to Kew tomorrow it will probably be in the morning. We hardly seem to have any time in the afternoon by the time ds wakes up! Is that any good? We'll probably go in at Victoria Gate & then very slowly walk round to the Orangery for lunch.

Foxie, hope tomorrow goes ok & that your lodger gets over her strop!

sfxmum · 08/04/2008 16:18

Hello all

Lovely day have been out for playdate this morning in Strawb Hill, followed by walk by the river towards Richmond, and then to St Mags to say bye to a friend who is moving to the US on Fri. One of the mums bought her 2wk old baby to playdate, she's gorgeous, didn't want to give her back after I had a cuddle!

House update: Our 1st offer was rejected so we raised it but coincidentally someone else has put in an identical offer. Vendor has given us both til 10.30am to produce final offer. Agent said we're slightly in the lead though as we have no chain. Decisions, decisions, what to do...?

Might try Kew Thu am if weather good, sorry can't make it tom, have fun baking though

Lau - DS started teething at 3mths nightmare, and has recently had a bout of teething which lasted a mth

Foxie - hope you are now poo-free. Good luck at dentist, hope not too painful

PC - Utah trip pretty exotic, is that for training?

Cov - enjoy exploring your new goodies

Gmama - if you like shopping, you'll love Kingston

sfxmum · 08/04/2008 17:22
