stepfordwife · 07/04/2008 19:21

playdates..
i don't make them pay....hmm, there's a thought..

stepfordwife · 07/04/2008 19:29

ds1 and ds2 do street dance
it looks fun
i want to do it..
sadly my body won't co-operate

SJ99 · 07/04/2008 19:31

Paydates, now there's an idea - people pay you to play at your house
DS has multi-playdate tom at his friend's, I don't host v.often due to demolition squad turning up and trashing the house. Takes me a week to tidy up after them

Hello Pgregory - How long have you been in Moscow? I've visited a few times, interesting place

Gmama - not sure where you live but I'm guessing if you don't know Kingston then you're not within walking distance. Don't worry, maybe we can meet another time once you're more settled and you have your bearings Where did you live in SF?

MrsR - LOL at wee in handbag, classic

fitfox · 07/04/2008 19:46

OMG - what a Mare!!!

After walking back serenly with 5 kids and buying nice treats in shop (everyone happy up to this point...) I have just spent the last two hours on my knees:

scrubbing up dog poo on upstairs carpet(on DS1's friends socks - shoes already banned in house to avoid dog poo incidents - HTF did he get poo on his socks??),

scrubbing chocolate off sofa (thanks kids for giving DS2 a penguin to eat) and then...

scrubbing vomit off sofa (too much chocolate!)

Lordy!!!

stepfordwife · 07/04/2008 19:55

...ah now, foxie, if we did indeed have paydates that damage would be covered..
and, yes, mrsR...loving the wee in the handbag

Kewcumber · 07/04/2008 20:23

OK so I was wrong. Not often you'll hear that form the mouth of Kewcumber. Tis not a virus but a good old fashioned bacterial infection. Embarrasingly the dr had to tell me I had a temperature..."well I do feel a little unwell"

Actually what I said was "everything above my armpits hits... but its probably a virus isn't it"

Why am I always convinced dr's are going to tell me that I'm a hyperchondriac when I have pain in my throat and ears, struggling to draw breath, cough like a chain-smoking navvie, keep failing asleep during the day (and apparetnly have a temperature)?

slng · 07/04/2008 20:23

Oh no foxie! I live in dread that somebody is going to bring dog poo into the house. So far sticks, stones, leaves, sand, mud, but not yet poo ...

Where's my takeaway? I'm starving! All this effort storming up the stairs and threatening to take away DS2's monkey if he doesn't pipe down and stop taking off his sleeping bag is making me hungry. But they have gone quiet now. Best go and clean up the kitchen then ...

slng · 07/04/2008 20:24

Hello Kew! At least a diagnosis. Hopefully medication will make it better soon!

Kewcumber · 07/04/2008 20:24

sorrry foxie - would have been more sympathetic if I felt better.

pgregory can I practice my Russian on you when you get back - what part of Richmond are you moving back to - guess where I am!

slng · 07/04/2008 20:26

Did you ask the doctor whether it was possible that a viral infection had lowered your body's resistance and allowed a secondary bacterial infection?

Kewcumber · 07/04/2008 20:26

thanks slng - at least they have given me the strongest dose of amoxicillin so hopefully will feel better wihtin a day or two. I knew I was ill when I couldn't get in teh shower this morning in case it hurt my body

Kewcumber · 07/04/2008 20:28

no I was reverting to pathetic toddler type behaviour so couldn't ask intelligent questions. But yes I still think that it all started with sinusitis (which is usually virla in my case) and it developed into chest infection after that.

rosmerta · 07/04/2008 20:34

Hi all, sorry not been on in a while but everything ok. Have been stressing about a presentation for my next tutorial which is far too long!

Well done to Gherkin on potty progress - I've not even started ds yet, might give a go in the summer. MrsR, lol @ handbag wee!

Hi to Lausy, gaelsmama & pgregory, nice to see you here. I'm in Brentford with a 2yr ds!

I'm around Weds am if anyone fancies Kew?

rosmerta · 07/04/2008 20:36

Kew, hope you feel better soon

rosmerta · 07/04/2008 20:40

Sj, sorry I did get your email, next week is fine. I'm around Tues, Weds & Thurs if that's any good

SJ99 · 07/04/2008 20:57

Hi Ros - sorry, unlikely that I can meet the next few weeks as it's GP central; my parents are visiting next wk and then IL's the week after (I'm really going to need that night out). Good luck with presentation though, hope not too stressful for you.

Kew - at least you now have drugs, hope you'll feel better in a few days

Foxie - nightmare , always be wary of the demolition squad

MrsRecycle · 07/04/2008 21:00

oh no Foxie - hope the clean up goes well - something to be said for dark brown carpets eh? I spent yesterday cleaning up the hallway where ILs dog had wiped his muddy tail all along (neat line though). Still haven't ventured into the garden though [coward]

greg - welcome - lucky you being in Moscow. I'm finishing work in July so will be up for playdates then.

sfx what's happend to your laptop? bet its vista - I hate it. Mine is so temperamental and I have to keep on installing/deinstalling IE updates.

KC - am so glad you got anti's - hopefully you'll start to feel better in a couple of days. But you must rest up (easier said than done though).

steppie after FIL left yesterday, dh breathed a big sigh and said TF he's gone. A lovely man but drives you mad. Has a good heart though.

sfxmum · 07/04/2008 21:02

poor you KC that is really rotten hope you feel better soon

foxie I'd g for paydates - brilliant steppie

ros glad all is well might be around for Wednesday am hoping to go swimming tomorrow

sfxmum · 07/04/2008 21:05

mrsR no I had a very old laptop the very old battery just completely died don't use microsoft anyway, getting new one soon in the mean time using dh's

SJ that is why my cunning plan of permanently messy flat comes into fruition

rosmerta · 07/04/2008 21:06

no worries sj, hope its not too busy for you and hopefully see you at the night out!

rosmerta · 07/04/2008 21:23

foxie, hope you're de-pooed, de-chocolated & de-vomited now! I don't mind a multiple playdate, tbh ds can create that much mess on his own so its no difference to me!

Finally saw the TW finale last night, wasn't very surprised & dh quite happy!
