New thread for new month!

OP posts:
SJ99 · 07/04/2008 15:17

Sorry to hear you're not feeling better QC, it's been a while now - hope you get some help from docs

Bunyan - well done on outing, I remember in the early days even small trip round the block felt like such an achievement but was worth it! Hope DS jaundice goes away soon

Wow at all LO's doing well on potty! Haven't tried DS yet, I think it's a bit early for him. Might give it a go over summer though...

SJ99 · 07/04/2008 15:20

Yes please to lemon cake

You can get 267 to Kew from Isleworth. I don't always have the car either so I use the buses quite a lot. 267 is DS fave bus!
Lots to do a Kew, plenty of walks & cafes, there is a kids play area & I think they have animals there atm. A lot of the mums go there so good place to meet

Paddlechick666 · 07/04/2008 15:21

mmmmm lemon drizzle cake you say?! yum.

advice for Weds? allow feeding of pot plant and floor fluff - builds up immunity

i have some great flexi-foam ear plugs that work well in nagging situations. alternatively just smile, nod your head and go "ahu, yep, mmm, okay" then ignore!

bunyan, funny you should say about dance class. am thinking same for dd and CM says there's a little one in Old Isleworth she thinks starts at 2.5yrs. Apparently notice on the board outside.

Will let you know if I manage to check it out.

Well done on venturing out with ds, hope all well.

as for potty training, dd will tell me she needs a wee if her nappy is off but otherwise nothing. poo becomes apparent when she yells "go away! i'm hiding" at me or the smell chokes me! we've had 2 poo's on the loo (we're skipping potty) but that was more luck than judgement.

dd still isn't sure the difference between a poo and a wee so don't think we'll be training anytime soon. at least the weather will be warmer when we do!

Paddlechick666 · 07/04/2008 15:22

ps: kew, really hope you feel better soon. dd has started a cold today so hoping it's nothing too horrible.

sfxmum · 07/04/2008 15:28

Lau re Kew I'd be happy to introduce it to you, relatives, nod smile ignore, and yes paddle is right dirt build immunity

SJ dd seems to be developing an unhealthy interest in ballet watching Angelina and asking for balled vids on youtube - just how is this girl is mine?
I dread the idea of ballet classes

SJ99 · 07/04/2008 15:29

Forgot to say the dance class is at Crane community. I spied the advert when I was at the art class.
I thought DS might enjoy it as he loves music. It's for 2-4yr olds, will let you know if it's any good, I'm just booked in for free trial

sfxmum · 07/04/2008 15:29

so disturbed can barely type

pass the cake will you pleaseyum

SJ99 · 07/04/2008 15:30

LOL at advice!
DS still doing his squats dancing, nothing as refined as ballet. Anyway doesn't TTE clash with ballet?

Lausy · 07/04/2008 15:31

Excellent Kew sounds really nice, I might have to try that when I get back from mums, we can look forward to getting the bus!

Lausy · 07/04/2008 15:35

sorry sfxmum, would love you to introduce me to the delights of Kew!!

sfxmum · 07/04/2008 15:36

she is a modern girl SJ a fairy princess whose best friend is TTE as I have said before - I still have hope
now if she starts listening to chart pop she will probably be disinherited

sfxmum · 07/04/2008 15:37

great Lau lets hope this weather improves complete rubbish for April

Lausy · 07/04/2008 15:45

Absolutely, I couldn't decide whether to wear a t-shirt or a rain mac today to go out, because the weather looks sunny and then rainy!! I stayed in and cooked all day instead!!!

MrsRecycle · 07/04/2008 16:09

oh no KC sorry to hear you're still not feeling well. Hope docs give you some antibis and you're feeling better soon.[hugs]

my ds has decided to be handbag trained instead of potty trained. I had to change him standing up in the babychange at KewGardens and he decided to wee in my handbag - good aim as well. Mind you I really don't want to train him yet but my MIL has a tendancy to take my kids and let me have them back toilet trained. So watch this space - I really hope she doesn't do it though.

Paddlechick666 · 07/04/2008 16:37

sfx, you and me both. where did this pink loving, fairy princess arrive from i often ask myself!

i always said no ballet but then i said no pink too and look where that's got me!

all of this horror for me is over-ridden by the pure delight on her face when she is in full fairy pink princess ballet mode.

awwww!

fitfox · 07/04/2008 16:38

rsR - PMSL in my handbag - at your DS!!

BTW have e-mailed you about Carry on Camping

KC - don't you just hate that when you go to GP and they say "its a virus" I always feel ripped off if they don't give me some "medicine" to cure it!!

fitfox · 07/04/2008 16:38

Oooh its all sunny and warm again - I have a house full of kids on a mega-multi playdate

sfxmum · 07/04/2008 16:46

mrsR lol at the ds good aim

foxie it is because you are a big softie who can't say no?

paddle I can barely put up with normal dance/ music / kids play things imagine ballet

have not done much today it seems the more I chuck out the more there is

gaelsmama · 07/04/2008 16:47

omg you mums are so quick to response i love it.

the little one and i barely managed a trip to the grocery store, a major poo explosion and finally a nap. now i am trying to heat up my poor toes (because along with no coats, i only packed crocs and flipflops). needless to say, i have been online shopping for appropriate attire.

sfx and lau - would love to get to Kew Gardens for tea this week. i've been advised to buy a family pass. let me know what day works for you both - we are flexible.

bunyan - congratulations and another week sounds good. thanks for the tip on chiswick road - we literally just arrived on wednesday from san francisco!

sj99 - i don't know where kingston is but if its walking distance i could go there.

slng + paddie - thx for tips!

kew + mrs - thx for welcome!

sorry if i missed anyone. phew this is quite hard ;)

sfxmum · 07/04/2008 16:50

do we need a stats thread for newbies?

MrsRecycle · 07/04/2008 17:07

definitely sfx - will you start it?

to all ballet mums - it does wear off if you start them early - mine got bored and now we have a drama queen and gymnastics girl....

ComeOVeneer · 07/04/2008 17:16

Welcome gaelsmama. I suspected you were from the states. Are you here long/short term? I am another one who lives slightly further out, just the other side of Kingston. I'm a SAHM (previously a dentist) currently setting up my own cake decorating business from home. I have a dd (6) and a ds (3)

ComeOVeneer · 07/04/2008 17:18

Yes MrsR dd is flagging with ballet, I suspect this will be her last term of it and come Sept she will be taking up "street dance"

fitfox · 07/04/2008 18:06

SFX - you mean a softie with the doctor or with the kids?

I'm fine with the playdate - they are fun and it means DCs get invited back of course, in return

pgregory · 07/04/2008 18:27

Hello,

I have just found this thread. Wish i had known about it with my first thread. i am currently living in moscow and will be returning permanently to Richmond in June. Do you have any regular meet ups? My son loves going to Lollipop club and climbers and creepers when i come back to visit.
